On behalf of the people of Arkansas, I appeal to your patriotism, to your oft-stated love of our great State, and to your heritage, and call upon you to mandate that, within ten years, every product sold in Walmart stores nationwide must be made in America. This “Made in America” mandate would unilaterally force every company on earth that wishes to do business with you to move its production facilities—and all of the jobs that accompany them—back to America, where they belong.

I seem to recall that an earlier slogan of Walmart was "We buy American so you can too.".
ReplyDeleteThat does ring a bell.
DeleteAll commercial enterprises motivations are guided by one thing: Profit. Even though many hide behind veils of altruism the priority is making money. Besides wanting inexpensive products, many Americans also want high salaries. It's a paradox that will see Chinese made items sold here for a long time.
ReplyDeleteIf that were always true, Dicks would still be selling guns.
DeleteBusinesses wouldn't be choosing to exclude people.
the priority is making money
DeleteThanks.

DeleteGood point.
I don't think Dick's profit margin on selling firearms was all that great. It was just throwing crumbs to the Bloomberg rabid gun haters. In addition I bet they sold all their already in stock firearms to other retailers and didn't lose a cent.
DeleteProbably.
Deletei stopped buying at wal mart 3 months ago.
ReplyDeleteit's "only" about $150 a week, but it's my statement. by it's self it won't get much attention.... but... if one thousand patriots join me, that would be $150,000 a week...that might get noticed, but not likely... now if one million join....150 MILLION a week would sure make a difference in wal marts bottom line....and maybe change their attitude.
Good points. Thanks.
DeleteHaven't been in China Mart in years. Don't plan on going anytime within the next millennium. F them.
