The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms has arrested a Florida man for selling a piece of metal engraved with the outline of a “lightning link” that turns a semi-automatic AR-15 into a fully automatic machine gun.
The ATF’s move comes alongside a similar crackdown on 80-percent receivers and an ongoing debate about the legality of 3D-printed guns. In each case, federal regulators have made contradictory and unilateral decisions about the point at which a piece of metal or plastic becomes a regulated firearm or accessory.
Kristopher J. Ervin, 40, was arrested March 2 and indicted Thursday on a charge of possessing an unregistered machine-gun conversion device, according to the Florida Times-Union.

Can I sign up for jury duty?
ReplyDeleteY'all have a nice day.
I suspect he will beat the charges as he did NOT in reality possess an actual device that could convert an AR to full auto. He possessed items that could if properly machined do so but the items as seized would not.
ReplyDeleteBut then the criminals at BATFEces and in the JustUs department are aware that he'll likely beat the charges. They don't care. The PROCESS IS THE PUNISHMENT. By the time this is all over he'll be bankrupt, unemployed, own nothing and likely have lost his family. And THAT is the actual message intended to be sent.

DeleteSad to say.
Defund the BATF or at least, eliminate any jurisdiction re: the citizens. The Federal Government has been delegated NO powers re: alcohol, tobacco or firearms pertaining to the People. --Ron W
