Chinese aircraft went on fire and broke their wings, then sank it in the water, leaving 2 dead and 2 missing. Hoang Cau Times reported that today Monday July 10/05, two pilots were operating on fire by smoking water in Lake Erhai, Agency, Yunnan Province, Southwest China suddenly fell into water ..
The crew composed of 4 people, 2 dead, 2 missing, police are still investigating the clarification.
Looks like the tail rotor lost power causing an uncontrollable rotational spin....with the defective components catching fire before the chopper even had time to crash. Not a familiar looking aircraft.....probably a reverse engineered copy of something made by the Chinese. And suffering from the typical lack of quality control and attention to detail that their products are notorious for. Add in a reluctance to maintain equipment properly and you can see why the internet is FULL of "disaster" videos from China showing all manner of mechanical failures leading to tragedy.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeletePilot error! I would never allow a helicopter to get a full rotation on me before I punched the slingload off. I've punched loads off at 30 degrees of rotation. When you hit the pedal stop and it's still rotating it's time . btays
ReplyDeleteThank you for the knowledge. Were you in Vietnam?
Deleteno I wasn't in VN. Two years flying Hueys, one in Korea. Six years flying Blackhawks. I love Hueys but no two ever flew the same, they all had little quirks,,, Blackhawks all flew real close to the same... So I'm a Blackhawk fan btays
