Back in the early 80's I had an uncle that built the 390 FE in his late 60's pickup. He also put a Mustang II subframe up front dropping it about 3 inches. The rear was a Ford 9 inch 4 link that also had about a 3 inch drop. He had the rev limiter set to 7500 RPM. It was a F-100 Ranger that was a low 12 second truck. The FE's were amazing engines.
Thanks and happened to it? I always thought that 6,500 was the max you should go for a big block and I'm amazed how high you can go. Guess it depends on how you build them.
