Steppin' Back

The locusts descend upon the land.

Not the literal ones, but a kind much worse, in my estimation. The urbanites, long disenchanted with the social upheaval of late, have begun to migrate to the country. My home county, Newton County, Arkansas, is sadly not immune, though we are largely blessed.

Rugged and in the remote mountains of northwest Arkansas, my home county is steeped in both history and poverty. My people scratched out existences in the rocky hill sides as they raised families. I remember my grandmother talking about playing the game ‘jacks’ once and stating that she, as a grown woman, had never actually seen a store-bought jack, as they played with peach pits.

These new comers know nothing of the land, and many care even less about the people. They come down and build their ‘McMansions’ all along every scenic route and over my home country. True, some are good people who will acclimate and become part of the social fabric of my home. It  has always been that way, but far too many are odious transplants who denigrate and insult my people. It is this thought that weights heavily on my mind as I drive Hghway 7 on a cool Saturday morning. I wonder to myself, ‘How can one escape this madness?’ as I observe three new buildings on the point of the mountain.

  1. Yankee Mcmansions. When the time comes remember Sherman's march through Georgia. Do it in reverse. There is no other way.

  2. Real America has a long history of insect control so God now sends us democrats instead. The end result of both are devastation of any area they invade. After the insects are gone the area will regrow next year. The same can not be said of democrats because that infestation grows until the host is completely consumed.

  3. Historically the land meant everything. Being tied to the land was as much honored and valued as having family. The Founders saw that true prosperity lies in the land, holding the land, working the land, realizing wealth from the land, husbandry of the land. The ancient heritage of the people united with the land goes back to the beginning of time; those without the land were slaves to those who held the land.

Now society is so prosperous that one need not work, nay not even lift a hand, to at least feel wealthy. Gone is the stigma of the layabout, state-sponsored charity requires no allegiance to age honored principals. The people who flock to this or that place look only for convenience such are they secure knowing they will always be provided. They have no thought of the land except where they may plant their houses. Houses, by the way, which stick out like sore thumbs. But they pay no mind for they do not know. Meanwhile, the life blood of that heritage by which they have benefited yet remain ignorant thereof, flows out to dry in dusty heaps. If they should have a thought of the land it is to think the land is hostile and must be molded to their contempt.

And those who have beheld the land as that crown jewel shall weep.

Well said and it still is to some and thanks. I remember growing up and my Mother said facetiously, but not really, "Louise is such a pretty girl and it would be nice if you two married as their land backs up to one of our farms." :)

  4. Just today I thought of the various places around this country which have been over run by the homosexuals. Flagstaff, Sedona, Asheville, Provincetown, Key West. All impacted with the rude and violent sodomites without shame. They revel in their abomination.

I have visited each of those locations more than once. Each of them offered a rich history and were worth a future visit, even to beckon perhaps settling there. But no more.

My lovely bride is from 5 generations who homesteaded in Asheville. Late last year the family set to remodel the family homes in that place. They quickly changed their minds and sold off every property. The reason, the one and only reason, is because the mass of homos there. And they are aggressive even on the verge of violence (there are open acts of violence committed by the aforenamed against any person who does not share their perspective).

So why am I targeting the homosexual? Because they gather as thick as thieves, or as destructive locusts. And they will tear you a new one if you do not succumb to their ways. They then are the example of what those who move into the formerly tranquil and lovely place just like the disenfranchised who move in and remain disconnected to the land or the people for they not care.

  5. Same crap is happening in Montana. I hope we get about 5 feet of snow and 4 straight months of -20F. And I hope that a lot of the major airports close.
