When I was one of the administrators of this page, I made this post.
This is how I envisioned the 1st Virginia Flaggers Lee-Jackson Day Parade in Lexington VA to occur in January 2011.
It covered every politician's home who voted for the Flag Ban, and would have set the tone for my proposed "Boot Elrod" campaign.
The Lexington police wanted to charge me $4000 for escort and traffic, so the parade was altered to just include a few Flaggers going to Broski's and Elrod's houses. The Flaggers marched in the traditional parade with the SCV and UDC, and return every year.
I made and brought 100 Boot Elrod campaign bumper stickers, and held a Press Conference with the Lexington Gazette.
Since my participation in the Georgia Flaggers with the statewide Boot Barnes campaign that crushed the Georgia Democrat Party, I knew a similar effort would be effective in Lexington.
My miscalculation was there wasn't any stomach for going after politicians in Virginia like in Georgia.
The SCV attacked me. The UDC ran and hid.
Now the Lee Chapel is closed to Lee Jackson Day services, the Flags and portraits are gone from the Lee Chapel. Lee Chapel is renamed. Flags are banned from light poles. WLU will arrest anyone wearing or displaying a Confederate symbol. Lee Jackson Day Proclamations are no longer signed.
Mimi Elrod was reelected. The statue of Jackson is removed from VMI, and Lee Jackson Day is no longer officially recognized in Lexington.
I weep for the losses, but sleep great at night knowing the methods I tried to suggest be implemented would have provided a much better outcome but others preferred to attack me rather than our enemies.
