On Monday night, a Lyft driver in Philadelphia (almost) fell victim to a carjacking in the middle of the day, but luckily was carrying a gun and shot both criminals
The 38-year-old Lyft driver was rear-ended by a Honda in a very public area and, when he stopped his car, the carjacker ran up with an automatic rifle and pointed it at the driver. The driver and woman in his passenger seat both got out and the carjacker got it. When the criminal started to drive off, the Lyft driver – who had a concealed carry permit – shot at the carjacker and hit him twice in the torso.

DeleteThe problem here is that the Lyft driver shot them as they were driving away. The Lyft driver at that moment was in no danger from the criminals. My personal feeling is that the criminals should immediately be public executed, their families taken off all welfare support. The reality of our dysfunctional society is that the Lyft driver could become a legal/political target. There are numerous examples where similar events and outcomes have occurred.

DeleteAn automatic rifle ? I have to question if they know anything about guns since most weapons isn't automatic civilians have criminals, or not.

DeleteThe Lyft driver is now unemployed....Lyft and Uber both refuse to allow their drivers to be able to defend themselves. He also may be charged...the Philly DA is a committed leftist. And the question of civil liability is always a concern. This man's reward for stepping up and opposing criminality will be bankruptcy and perhaps prison. A fine commentary on what America has become.
