A suspected auto burglar was in hospital in critical but stable condition after being shot by the owner of a car being burglarized in the 8400 block of Julian Robles NE, police said.
The man who shot the suspect has been charged with
aggravated battery resulting in great bodily harm, and was booked into
the Metropolitan Detention Center, according to Albuquerque Police
spokesman Simon Drobik.
Police received a call at about 2 a.m. Sunday from a man
later identified as Kyle Cordova, 26, who reported that his car was
being burglarized and the suspect was still in the car.
“At some point, Mr. Cordova retrieved a handgun and shot the
burglar once,” Albuquerque police spokesman Simon Drobik said in an
email on Sunday.
