"And Now, After Sending Our Best Young Men To Die On distant battlefields fighting Communism, we may simply vote a Marxist into our highest office."

High-school history teachers nationwide will give their top students a dark retelling of U.S. history this fall, courtesy of the College Board, a nonprofit college readiness firm led by Common Core architect David Coleman.
The College Board – which administers AP (advanced placement) courses and tests – is rolling out a revised curriculum framework for AP U.S. history, offering the 450,000 students who take AP U.S. history classes a hero-free account of America’s deeply stained past.
Peter Wood, president of the National Association of Scholars, calls the new AP U.S. history framework “a briefing document on progressive and leftist views of the American past,” one which “weaves together a vaguely Marxist or at least materialist reading of the key events with the whole litany of identity group grievances.”
Conservative author Stanley Kurtz asserts the College Board is “pushing U.S. history as far to the left as it can get away with at the high-school level.”
The new 124-page history curriculum is a dramatic departure from the five-page outline previously supplied by the College Board to guide AP U.S. history instructors. A much more detailed “history from below,” it focuses on how native Indians and Africans suffered at the hands of Europeans in the New World.

Amazing how fast these Leftie people can move when they are highly motivated. Took them 60 years to trash American Education, and they get to take it all over without any serious resistance. HOME SCHOOL NOW.
ReplyDeleteThe stealth arrival of Common Core to individual states was courtesy Governor/State Superintendent agreements - no input from Legislatures and We the People other than funding. So, the AP curriculum, as well as the SAT and ACT tests will all be in line with the anti-American Core Curriculum.
Like you said before, Brock - screw college and the military - learn a trade so that people either want or need your services. I am forced to take up sewing again due to the lousy clothes out there. Nice untapped market of us old Boomers who wander aimlessly about the stores finding nothing.
Learn how to cook, and there's another untapped market for all the working women who would pay you to make the meals (I have been asked, but still decline).

DeleteI wonder how this will play out with the states who dropped out of Common Core, NC being one, but you're right, forget college.
Alabama State Legislature had an opportunity to rid our school system of Common Core, but Senator Bill Holtzclaw ( a transplant to this state) refused to let the bill be voted on. So legislators do have the ability to stop CC if they only cared to.
DeleteToo bad, but don't give up the ship.
DeleteI know a lot of people are very down on Glen Beck. I do not agree with everything he supports. However when I look at the big picture Glen is on the right side much more often than not. He was leading the charge against Common Core long before most conservatives ever heard of it. He is the one that informed me about what Common Core was. At the moment Common Core is being stopped across the country. I hope that is a trend but it could just be a setback for the Common Core promoters.

DeleteI pray. It was a long road to hoe here, but got through, not as good as we wanted, but a victory none the less.
Well they've bypassed the textbook fight and are implementing it in a top down fashion just as the communists always do. If anyone gets a hold of old "citizenship" books keep them. You'll see teachings of the USA being a "representative republic" prior another communist in office: FDR. After he came to be, it was changed to "democracy" God Bless
ReplyDeleteGood point/s and the same to you, Jason.
DeleteHomeschool, homeschool, homeschool! Oh, and breed! While the leftards murder their offspring in the womb and gov't educate the ones they don't, we should be "going forth and multiplying" and educating our little patriots ourselves! Parents of 7, self employed, home schoolers.
DeleteSome good points.
DeleteWhere can one find those 'Citizenship books and a Good homeschool system to check?
ReplyDeleteWe used www.robinsoncurriculum.com/ . If you search this site you will find many links to this kindred soul.
DeleteWebsters American dictionary of the English language, 1828 edition, has the best definitions in it (before they were corrupted.) Read Charlotte Masons book on homeschooling with whole books. Some great insight. Also don't feel you need to copy the gov't indoctrination model. Develop your own style based on your needs and desires. Older children can be a great help with the younger ones, you need to know, no one is more qualified to teach your children than you!
DeleteThey teach themselves with guidance from you.
DeleteAnd we do nothing but whine. But. For how much longer?
ReplyDeleteSickening.
DeleteCollege AP history is already messed up. It only took me two days to discuss the so called American Civil War in a 45-minute time frame, on those each days. It took a whole week to discuss the history of slavery in America and another whole week to discuss the causes that lead up to the War of Northern Aggression which were mostly about slavery and Lincolns election. By the way we skipped the history of reconstruction all together as if it never happened. Are public school system is a failure any way believe me I'm still going through the courses and it doesn't seem to matter anymore. Most students that I've been with hate history with a passion and soon be on the social media then to discuss or study it for themselves. Even math and biology are taught in a disorganized or confused manner to where students can't understand it.

DeletePurposely, I am sure.
