I have a friend .........who lived through the Balkan wars in the former Yugoslavia.
He,
and many of my other friends that are also from former Soviet block
countries (lots of people at work from Russia, Viet Nam, fmr Czech Rep,
etc), attest
to the fact that they had more freedom then under Communist rule than
we do here.
........ had said to his friends as he watched the situation develop in his
country (he was in his teens then), that war was about to break out.
His friends told
him he was nuts….but he was right. When it did, their money
plummeted. They were buying beers for hundreds of dollars (whatever
that equivalent was at the time), because the thought was if the money’s
falling that fast they may was well spend it while they
could still buy something with it.
He
got an email with from his buddy this past week who lives in St Louis
area, saying to -------- – “reminds me of the old country, just before the
war broke out”.
People have had it with the collectivists and their police thugs.
Re-read
Locke and our founding fathers. Liberty should not be relative. You
either have it or you don’t. If you’re weighing the chains around you
saying,
“well, they’re not too heavy, I can manage” then you’ve already lost.
As
you sleep tonight, remember that very easily you could be next. All
that needs to happen is some hack screws up an address and next thing
you know they’re
no-knock raiding your house, maybe dropping a flash bang in .......
room. Doesn’t matter that it was the wrong house. You and the family
will live with that horror forever – if you live, some don’t.
I’ve
only been trying to open the eyes of my friends ......... Ferguson is a
picture of reality. Baby Bou Bou being flash banged is reality ........
Watertown is reality. Bunkerville was reality, with a touch of God’s
grace thrown in – that it did not escalate into a bloodbath was a
miracle.
If
you cannot fully open your eyes and see the world how it really is then
there’s nothing more I can do for you. Perhaps it is going to take
something even
more extreme for the millions of Americans who still don’t see.
Lastly,
I will submit this to you: your friend........ undoubtedly feared for
her life while attempting to flee, maybe moving across town to meet a
contact.
Think about how the people of Ferguson feel today…..
America a “free” country? Not so much.
Now I am really depressed again... Note to self: Buy more beer soon...
ReplyDeleteI thought you only drank wine, but come to think of it, you did have some of that homemade liquor at the PATCON.
DeleteI typically drink wine, but I need the beer for bartering when the Siege begins -
ReplyDeleteI still think about how good that homemade stuff was at PatCon.... and it will probably be even better in October - DANG
