As Attorney General Eric Holder once famously observed, "America is a nation of cowards when it comes to talking about race while buying wildly overpriced hipster coffee."
To rectify this problem, Starbucks recently instituted a campaign called "Race Together," which encourages their employees to strike up meaningful conversations about race relations with poor bleary-eyed bastards who just came in for their morning caffeine fix.
And who better to give straight talk on one of the most sensitive issues in our country than a company which can't even use clear language like "small" "medium" and "large" when obfuscating the sizes of their own products?

Loved it. :)
DeleteAs I won't pay someone who hates me for my skin color , my firearms , my free speech rights , my religion , my politics and my gender , five bucks for a cup of mediocre coffee , I 'm not part of the problem. When the rest of the white fools who buy Starbucks coffee boycott Starbucks swill , Starbucks will no longer be part of the problem ether. All we really need do is stop supporting our own genocide by the neo-communist's.---Ray

DeleteWell said.
Another Stellar Graphic, Brock! I for one would like to thank Starbucks for their missionary work among us poor dumb white crackers. That must explain why you won't find a Starbucks in a predominantly AA community (from what I have read any how) cuz that would just be preachin' to the Choir. BTW- I don't like the taste of SB coffee very much so no hardship for me to pass on the pandering.

Reminds me of Mr. An who parted his earthly home in Paris last year. He came to visit us in Fallbrook many years ago
Mr. An used to complain about the Thieu government, and once stated that we would be better off under the Communists to which I asked what he would do for a living if this happened. He said continue running a travel agency! I replied not in a Communist country as they only have a government one. Obviously, this isn't the case anymore. Anyway, Mr. An stayed after the fall, but became the first individual to leave Vietnam legally after the Communists took control. He was also a French citizen. The first letter he wrote me from Paris was a three page rant full of expletives describing the Communists! He also hates the French, stating that they are the most prejudiced people in the world. He would have come to the US where his children are, but the French would reduce his pension which he receives for 30 years civil service, if he doesn't live in France.

Want to talk about how I got jumped in the bathroom by six blacks in high school want to talk about the business that explained they love to hire me but I wasn't black? Now I carry and the bathroom scene will be different the odds would very quickly be even and I started my own business and I only hire the most qualified person. I guess you could say I found a way around both problems
ReplyDeleteMore power to you.
DeleteI love your story about Mr. An - it reminded me about a lovely man I talked with on a flight from Paris to Atlanta. He worked for the CDC and was returning from visiting his family in Paris. He was from Vietnam and had the most uplifting attitude and was so interesting . I can't remember what we talked about now, but it was non-stop even though I told him I would shut up if he wanted to sleep. No, he was quite happy to talk as it made the time go faster...plus, I am so charming, too ;)

DeleteOf course! :) I was just looking for a picture of Mr. An and Dixie, but only came up with one of his son's family. I guess the others aren't digital.
