Out of the great state of NC, Chief Deputy Whip Patrick McHenry has proposed legislation that would protect (and possibly help reinstate) all types of rifle ammunition.
The text of the proposed legislation reads.
More @ The Right To Bear
The apparatchiks at BATFEces have not given up on the ban on M855, merely set it aside for now to 'review comments'....translation.....wait till the heat dies down and try again.
ReplyDeleteAs for the bill introduced by McHenry.....it's doomed. It might make it out of congress but it will DRT on Obama's desk. He doesn't even have to veto it.....just ignoring it will
doom it....it's called a 'pocket veto'. And there is simply not enough votes in Congress to override veto's. The sentiment is nice but this is going nowhere.
Agreed, but send as many as possible thinking he will veto all and maybe some will get through.
DeleteThe right answer is to repeal the national firearms act and similar federal legislation and then reduce the budget and authority of the BATFE to simply collecting taxes of alcohol, explosives and tobacco.
ReplyDeleteThe states will still be free to control specific types of firearms in their borders.
All in one fell swoop.
