Heizer Defense is expanding its family of pocket pistols with the introduction of a new offering chambered in the 7.62x39mm cartridge.

Dubbed as the “Pocket AK Pistol,” the new PAK1 will be formally introduced at the upcoming 2015 NRA Show in Nashville, Tenn. The Pocket AK Pistol joins the company’s similar offerings such as the PS1 “Pocket Shotgun,” the PAR1 “Pocket AR” and the Hedy Jane Empowered line of pistols designed for women.

  1. I only want to know, when you pull the trigger which will fly further the pistol or the bullet? grins. CH

    1. :) I feel marginally comfortable with only 5 .357's, can't imagine only having one.

    2. Brock, that's partially why I carry a 9mm rather than a .45. I figure my odds are better with 19 rounds of 9mm than with 7 or 11 rounds of .45. Plus when the shtf I figure there'll be more 9mm laying "on the ground" than .45.
Same reason I recently bought a .308 rifle. My 7.62 x 54r Mosin Nagant has a bit more range and ammo is a lot cheaper but I don't figure there'll be a lot of 54r laying around down at the armory, etc. CH

    1. :) Well their other ones weigh about 21 ounces which is four more than my .357 LCR and I shoot max loads out of it. Good kick, needless to say, but other than that the main thing I notice is that it stings your hand.

    2. Likely not much at all. It uses rifle powder. It is barely getting going by the time the bullet leaves the barrel. Expect a large fireball.

    3. Guess we'll get a report later on.

  3. My LCR does the same, and prefer .38+P rounds instead of .357 I can't imagine this thing being particularly good. Might be one of those "good ideas" just didn't work out on Pawn stars 100 years from now. LMAO worth a fortune just don't polish it LOL.

  4. I shoot the Speer LE 158 grain out of mine. I was curious as to why you prefer the .38+P?

  5. For me personally I prefer the .38+P round because they are a bit easier to shoot for me more on a target accurately and without over penetration and without the bite that comes with a snubby .357. Even with those grips, them Magnum rounds barks more than my great dane rattles the windows when he does. Accuracy being described as only having 5 rounds loaded to compared to my other carry pistol the G-17. almost 20 bullets can help at times I'm sure. Although I think .357 round will fragment as desired like an Ar-15 round (notwithstanding the difference in velocity as there is obviously a big diff) will with high velocity fragmentation that comes in to play so you don't shoot though everyone house in the block.

I almost always carry the .357 though. depends on what I can wear
. Jacket, Glock. Jeans and T-shirt LCR.

always have the .22 magnum revolver as a back up to either though :) seriously I do.!

Ha! :) I ended up with the LCR as the best I would carry 100% of the time, but one of my '45's, either 21 or 30 is close by.

  6. And I thought the Keltec P3AT in .380 ACP had a snappy recoil...

    1. :) I have a TAPCO stock on my Saiga 12 and it is brutal. Reminds me a 10 gauge.

  7. Except for commonality of having a 7.62x39 - what good is it ? I've shot a T/C Contender handgun in 30-30 Winchester and it was far from pleasant - I can only imagine what THAT one above would feel like in recoil. Like clenching a handfull of Black Cat Firecrackers and lighting it off - nope, not me either.

  8. Got a tricked out Saiga too, and know what you mean. It's going to a neighbor in a SHTF scenario. A neighbor I otherwise wouldn't care for. :)
