After dark on June 16 (2015), the Ukrainian side has again started firing positions and frontline base of international brigade "tag" (the Republican Guard DNI) - First, small arms, and then 82 mm. later 120 mm. mortars. Fighters "Fifteen" for some time on the orders of the command did not open fire in response, but in the end were forced to join the battle, which lasted with varying intensity throughout the night. In the morning APU attempted to come close to one of the "Fifteen" (probably it was a "reconnaissance in force") - but they were already a few dozen meters from the trenches were immediately thrown back. It should be noted - that this time "tag" is not used in response to mortars.
The video depicts a small part of the battle is already morning (I moved to the front as soon as was possible shooting) - somewhere between 4 and 5 o'clock. At this time, the APU managed large-incendiary rounds set fire to the main house with the location of "Fifteen". As a result of many hours of battle at Brigade only one badly wounded in the neck - and not from the weapons of the Ukrainian side, and by breaking the shutter old (1942) anti-tank rifle Degtyareva (PTRD). He was quickly taken to the hospital, the doctors said - will live.
Interesting video. I hope that kind of civil war never comes here.
ReplyDeleteI hope that kind of civil war never comes here. Again:)
DeleteMilitia take note of the rate of ammunition expenditure in that skirmish. Also note the near universal distain for body armor , the WW2 pattern trenches, with their absence of overhead cover and absence of weapons heavier than RPG's. If the HE going off in the background is 81MM or 120 MM none of it is landing close enough to make anyone seek cover. Also none of the trees, sandbags or log revetments are chewed up by incoming small arms fire or fragmentation. Kind'a strange to see a fire fight like that with no evidence of incoming ain't it? I seem to remember it raining leaves and sticks and something about a beaten zone looking like plowed ground after even a short firefight under the forest canopy . I see a whole lot of "WHO RAH hold my vodka and watch this" and None at all of "get that MG on your 9 O'clock Ivan" Maybe its just me, but they looked awful laid back for a full on "Oh shit they in the wire" kind of day ---Ray
ReplyDeleteMy first thought upon watching the video, was that it was staged.
