Kim Davis, the Kentucky court clerk who has repeatedly refused to issue marriage licenses to gay couples, will remain jailed for contempt after refusing a compromise that would have allowed deputy clerks to issue the licenses.
Davis and her deputy clerks were summoned to appear before U.S. District Judge David Bunning after citing her religious beliefs and "God's authority" to deny the issuance of the licenses, the Associated Press reports.
Five of the six deputies had agreed to issue the licenses -- only her son would not relent -- but Davis refused to authorize them to do so.

DeleteHagman writes a good one on this issue - God's law, yes, but also the law of Kentucky - she has upheld the law of Kentucky. All the mouthpieces (Rand Paul, talking to you) pander about compromise, but what about the Law of Kentucky??? If SCOTUS can do this, they can do anything. They have no legal jurisdiction over marriage unless we give them the power and do what they say. Stop the Tyranny now, Resist these Traitors. God bless you, Kim, you are a brave woman in very good company with others persecuted for their Christian beliefs. Alas, you are also a good citizen of Kentucky.

DeleteAnother thought of where this can lead by putting people of faith in jail for not doing what they are ordered to do by the State: Doctors going to jail for refusing to do elective abortions as a "health care service" under Obamacare. Once it goes Single Payer, and it will, mark my word, then the State has power over it all.
