Donald Trump has reached a new high in the race for the Republican presidential nomination.
According to a Monmouth University survey released on Thursday, Trump takes 30 percent support nationally, a four-point gain over the same survey from before the first GOP debate.
Ben Carson is a distant second place in the poll, taking 18 percent support. The retired neurosurgeon has risen sharply in the polls over the past month. He was at only 5 percent support in the same poll from early August.
The rest of the Republican field isn’t even in the same ballpark.

Now Trump signed the "No Third Party" pledge the GOP elites will purge him.

He signed it? If so, he's a fool. :(
DeleteNot worth the paper it's printed on. If and when the time comes to go 3rd party, Trump merely presents the evidence (and I'm sure it will be ample) that the RNC didn't act in good faith and sabotaged his candidacy. How many people WON'T believe the leadership is guilty as sin? Game. Set. Match.

Delete:) Good point.
I'm glad that Ben Carson is improving in the polls - I like him. And between Trump and him, they have 38% of the Republican voters (for now at least) in favor of them. That has GOT to have the Repub NeoCons very concerned. It is becoming more apparent that the professional politicians (both Dems and Repubs) are NOT the citizen's choice.
ReplyDeleteI think Trump signed it to leave himself an out in the future.
to leave himself an out in the future.
DeleteI don't get it.
My thought was that if he later drops out of race, he will be able to point that complying with the demand just did not sit well with his constituents which caused his numbers to go down. I don't know if this is the case and I could be way off base here.
DeleteI assume Trump got a guarantee that there will be no monkey business to try and pass him by if he's the favorite at the convention, and if they do, then he could renege. Makes sense as I don't see him signing without getting an assurance.
