Hundreds of veterans have died while waiting to get care from the Department of Veterans Affairs, all while the department spent millions of taxpayer dollars on high-end art.

According to an investigation by COX Media Washington, D.C. and American Transparency, the VA has spent $20 million on high-end art over the last 10 years, $16 million of that spent during President Obama's tenure.

The investigation found one particularly egregious example: $670,000 combined spent on two sculptures at a VA center for the blind.

  1. That is NOT art. That is crap. And to add insult to injury, They have money to spend on art, but for some strange reason, they don't have the money in the budget for paying their employees over time. Ask me how I know.

  2. Shut them down. The VA is based on a system of treating war wounded from WW1 and it has become a system of treating everyone and everything if they ever served in the military. Just issue out Blue Cross cards and pay for it by shutting down the entire VA system.

    1. I mentioned to my doctor at the VA that it would be cheaper and patients would be served better if the system was closed and patients seen on the outside. She replied that her husband, also a doctor, had mentioned the same thing the other day.
