Three people are dead following a shooting at the Berrien County courthouse.
Two of the people dead are court bailiffs, said Sheriff Paul Bailey a news conference Monday, July 11. The other person dead is the shooter.
"Brave officers" took down the shooter, Bailey said, adding the suspect was an in-custody inmate.
A county deputy and a civilian were shot and injured, according to a news release. Those injured were taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph for treatment.
Michigan State Police, county officers and other police agencies responded to the shooting around 2:30 p.m.
