I'm going to try a Vietnam weekly instead of the pier one. Sometimes round trips get extremely low. I've seen them under $600, but I spent $596 on a one way as the round trip, for when I expected to return was $1,200, so since a lot could happen to cause a change to my return date and changing isn't cheap anymore, I went with the one way. Sometimes, it's cheaper to just buy a one way back than pay to change the return.
Thanks and I could live here and have for many years on and off. (11+)I feel perfectly at home on the streets here, but felt like a foreigner at JFK. I will never go there again even to save money which is why I went through there this time. Repulsive. I guess a large segment were on welfare of some sort, then you come here and everyone works doing whatever it takes to get by. I remember asking a girl about the barber I went to since I had noticed that he seemed to work everyday and wondered if he ever took off to which she said, when he's sick. No welfare here. Unless you work for a foreign company the only thing you ask of a Vietnamese one is your daily schedule as it's a given that's it's 7 days a week.
I haven't been there for about 10 years now, but we used to crewchange out of Vung Tau, and I've spent a few days in Saigon. One thing that was very noticeable to me was the almost complete lack of people who would have been young adults during the war. I guess they were wiped out after the war.
SAFE TRAVELS.
ReplyDeleteThanks and I've been wandering around Indo-China for many years with not much of a worry. Violent crime is extremely rare, though theft isn't.
DeletePost pics or some stories of your travel, if you can/desire!
ReplyDeleteI'll never, ever go to either of those places, I'd imagine. Would enjoy the vicarious trip through you!
