Now is the time to End Fed Ed! Legislation was introduced in Congress last week by Representative Thomas Massie to shut down the unconstitutional U.S. Department of Education. Massie kept it as simple as possible with a single sentence for the bill, H.R. 899, “The Department of Education shall terminate on December 31, 2018.” Article I Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution provides a list of what the federal government is allowed to do and education is not included. Education belongs to the states; let’s turn it back over to them!

This means that states are the highest level of government that is permitted by the Constitution to be involved with education. However, parents have the basic right to control their children's education.
