Top 10 U.S. fighter jets
10. F-4 PHANTOM
The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II[N 1] is a tandem two-seat,
twin-engine, all-weather, long-range supersonic jet interceptor
fighter/fighter-bomber originally developed for the United States Navy by McDonnell Aircraft.[1] It first entered service in 1960 with the U.S. Navy. Proving highly adaptable, it was also adopted by the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Air Force, and by the mid-1960s had become a major part of their respective air wings.
I didn't realize the A-10 Warthog was classified as a fighter. It does have the most versatile selection of what will fit under the wing.
ReplyDeleteKinda like the Skyraider.
DeleteThis airplane had a unique capability: even when it carried its full internal fuel of 2,280 pounds, a 2,200-lb torpedo, two 2,000-lb bombs, 12,5 inch rockets, two 20 mm guns and 240 pounds of ammunition, the Skyraider was still under its maximum gross weight of 25,000 pounds.
