First-graders at a school in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, went home crying on Dec. 6 after a substitute teacher told them Santa Clause and the Tooth Fairy don’t exist.
The sub broke the news to the 5- and 6-year-olds while teaching about the concept of persuasion at PS 321.
Parents were not pleased with the teacher.

"while teaching about the concept of persuasion" in 1st grade??? What happened to the days when in 1st grade the entire lesson session started with the pledge of allegiance, singing the national anthem, reciting the 23rd psalm and then spening the day learning adding, spelling plus long-hand script by rote?
ReplyDeleteLong gone, most unfortunately.
DeleteIf their parents hadn't lied to them, this wouldnt be an issue. Every adult on the planet knows this is true. Why fire someone for saying it?
