LEGAL St Louis couple who defended property pays fines and agree to give up their weapons

A St. Louis couple who gained notoriety for pointing guns at a mob of anti-police rioters who broke into their neighborhood last year, pleaded guilty Thursday to misdemeanor charges and agreed to give up the weapons they used during the confrontation.

Patricia McCloskey pleaded guilty to misdemeanor harassment and was fined $2,000. Her husband, Mark McCloskey, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor fourth-degree assault and was fined $750.

When several hundred demonstrators marched past their home in June of 2020, the couple waved weapons at them. They claimed the protesters were trespassing and that they feared for their safety.

  1. What? Why? Nothing worth defending anymore? I hope they sell that stupid looking house and move to somewhere more American. Like, South Dakota or Florida or Texas. Please, tell louisiana where to stick it.

    1. Really and I doubt that would happen in the LA country but startling just the same.

  3. Gregory, why should we retreat? It can be argued that where we are now as a nation is in a large part due to retreating moving aside, letting things slide. It is past time to make a stand. Yes, the McCloskeys did exactly that (and look what it got them). But when more people act likewise, to make a stand, it will be an act to bring the nation about and set her on that right course. Americans don't turn tail.

Too, how long, if people just continue to flee to a better place, will it become that their ain't no place left to flee to? Running off to some other place only expands the enemy's ground and encourages them. Meanwhile, reducing our ground and culture. It is demoralizing. Be resolute, stand your ground.

Also, how does Louisiana figure into this? The confrontation happened in Missouri.

  4. Sounds like they made a plea deal to prevent another riot.

  5. THE PROCESS IS THE PUNISHMENT. Both of these people are lawyers. They KNOW how the system works and they KNOW that once the system targets someone that someone CANNOT WIN. The system has INFINITE resources with which to persecute you....nobody has the resources to fight the system forever. These two having been a PART of that system have chosen to cut their losses and settle. It has nothing to do with right, wrong or justice. ONLY with expedience and conservation of their assets.
