(For the benefit of foreign readers who may not know the term 'pantywaist', see here. For 'pacifier', see here.)
I'm mind-boggled by the number of spoiled brats who are still hyperventilating over the fact that Donald Trump won last month's presidential election. Here are two super-precious examples of the breed.
First, a gay university student who's feeling terribly, terribly scared.
Since the election, I haven’t slept in my dorm room once. I’ve slept on couches, futons, floors and unoccupied beds in my friends’ homes. At first, it came from a need to be with people who supported me and understood how scary this political moment is for young people who grew up under the liberal auspices of an Obama presidency and came of age politically in a time marked by progressive movements such as that of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). But after I went home for clean clothes to find an anti-gay hate message written on my door, right next to a set of stickers spelling out “Vote 4 Hillary,” my couch-surfing took on new urgency. I was no longer searching for comfort from my peers — I was trying to preserve a sense of safety.

ReplyDeleteMine are always in that state. :)
DeleteDitto Brock!
Delete:) It's a no brainer. Even sitting at my desk with a .357 in my pocket and a .45 in the drawer doesn't guarantee I could defend myself if suddenly the door was caved in by culprits with guns blazing. Forget having your guns in any other fashion.
DeleteNote to self: Be more polite to Mr. Townsend. :p

That is a really good essay. Separately, I'm very glad to see him condemn the French Revolution there.
DeleteI've taken to calling Marxists, "Slavists", since what they really want is benevolent global slavery. And I note how that could be confused with Slav nationalism, but the primary word we use is "slave".
And I'll also say it is irritating how the secular Marxists so readily use religion (eg. Soviet Russia) and nationalism (eg. most every "Communist" and "Socialist" state), though at their core they condemn both. The Left wins, partly because it isn't blinded by ideology. It does whatever works to win, and it's also easier to destroy than to preserve something.
If talking with young people today though, many embrace odd things like anarchy and barbaric individualistic cosmopolitan "libertarianism" which is much different from the sort of libertarianism that used to be around in the 90s, which just rejected government. I dislike both, but the new sort isn't on my side. The right-libertarians I just thought were foolish and crazy but still on my side in spirit.
It does whatever works to win, and it's also easier to destroy than to preserve something.
DeleteGood point and good comments. If you search for Bazz on Nam South, you'll find some good ones from him.
Just think, these pussies are the leaders of tomorrow. I am glad I am old.
ReplyDeleteBTW, Brock. That 19.99 dollar jacket came yesterday that was on your site a few days ago. Very nice...a heavy windbreaker lined with fleece. DH really likes it. Fit is good and it is well made. Brand is Wear Guard...used to buy that brand years ago.

That's great and as Cousin John said, he couldn't believe they could sell them that cheap.
Wow! The Californians in that video were tolerant, accepting and even enjoying a Southern Rock band displaying their regional pride with a Confederate Flag. Now many or most have devolved into intolerant bigots! --Ron W
ReplyDeletePublix skool. & look at the healthy girls with no makeup or rings.
DeleteYep, the "publix skools" push identity politics and other PC crap to "divide and conquer" to make good little slaves for globalist plantation. As for those natural "healthy girls", as we say over here in Tennesee, "they ain't too hard to look at" --Ron W
ReplyDelete:) Wholesome. Far prettier than most today.
