It's possible the more they believe that the easier it will be on the rest of us. Of course it could also be bad if we ever get into a real war with a foreign power that has a real military.
There is another factor or two that must be taken into consideration; on being that we had a manufacturing base on which to make the items needed. One of the reasons why we won WW II is that we could replace stuff faster than the Germans or Japs could destroy them. Secondly things now are more expensive and take longer to make. An Abrams tank takes longer to make than a Sherman. A B-2 bomber is more expensive than a B-17.
I got cussed out by a supposedly Confederate ex marine when I told him the same thing; that the usa would have its' head handed to them on a platter if they ever got into a war with the Russian soldiers.
For instance, The German army was definitely the superior of all others during WWII and fighting either solely the Russians or the USA, they would have been victorious. I'm not positive about the USA v the Russians in WWII, but I would bet with the Russians today, considering the degradation of our armed forces. (A conventional war, again)
BTW, I forgot; What ever happened to unity? It is the opposite of Diversity and it is what bonds peoples and countries together. Diversity is what tears them apart!
Beginning with my active duty years, I have always maintained, we are fortunate we have never had to face large commands of Russian troops directly. The Pentagon knows this too and have always tried to have proxy wars. I have a great deal of respect for their military ability. The chasm is widening more each year with each new social engineering task. Maybe that is the left's plan.
I will bet Putin is shivering in his boots scared to death two fags and a tranny bust down his door and are NOT carrying an M-16.
Sorry for the rude comment delete if you wish Brock this just pushes a button.
The truth is our government should not be playing at social engineering with our military. When a real war comes and it will you only get one chance to lose. You can win all you want but lose and it is game over.
May well be. Someone mentioned that Putin was a Communist and I replied that so is Obama, but at least Putin is a man. He would cut your neck with his own knife while Obama would have someone else do it.
Actually Putin is not a communist. If you had read much of his writings and the statements he has made in public, you would know Putin despised the ole Russian communists and their puppet masters. He has talked much about how the USSR was formed under the brutality of the communists. He had always been motivated since he was a boy to want to affect change on the system. He went into the KGB knowing that was his best chance at moving up in politics. And while there he actually met others who shared his ideas. Boris Yeltsin while not officially a KGB member, nonetheless took Putin under his wing and promoted him.
While I could write pages about Putin and what he claims to stand for and what he has actually done in backing up his claims, it is best if you readers actually show a little initiative and read about him yourself. Ya'll have had your brains so Reconstructed by propagandized history through the news media and TV, ya'll don't know the truth from fiction any more.
I am not saying Putin is 100% right, or 80 or 90% right. I don't agree with everything he does. However compared to what we have here now in this country he would definitely be miles ahead of most any politician here. And he really is actually doing what is best for Russia and the Russian people. You can't say that about politicians in the USA.
You are 100% correct. I have read several articles by Putin condemning communism. He may not be a true capitalist but he is closer than any in our leaders. He is also a nationalist he believes it is his duty to promote Russia and put Russian interests first. Again that is something totally missing from our government. He is a bit too controlling for my liking but I guess no worse than what we have. I also read an article by Putin extolling the virtue of Russia’s flat tax over America’s progressive tax. He knows the damage of communism. He knows first hand no one will work harder just to give to a non-producer.
He may not be a perfect template for an American President but he is closer than we have had since Regan.

DeleteA conventional war, agreed.

DeleteYes and although it took 9 Russian tanks to knock out the best German, they had more than 9 to lose.

Just like in marriage, the more you have in common, the better chance you have of succeeding.
DeleteMaybe Chuck Hagel thinks our enemies will be blinded with fear at the sight of our armies in glittering pink tutus and rainbow unicorn helmets......
ReplyDeleteHeh. :)

DeleteDoesn't that make Putin a capitalist doing his own job.
Wow, that was good! Really, I giggled for about a minute before I could reply.
