With a city nickname 'Where the Battle Wasn't,' Gettysburg, South Dakota is the center of a social media battle over a Confederate flag on a patch worn by police.
A memorial outside the Potter County courthouse recognizes both Union and Confederate soldiers from the Civil War. Some say a flag from the confederate side shouldn't be on the county seat's police patch.
"I'm sorry they feel that way. It is in no way, shape or form meant to be offensive," police chief William Wainman said.
