John Kelly: Trump's Puerto Rico tweet was 'exactly accurate'

Via Billy

White House chief of staff John Kelly said Thursday that President Trump was correct when he tweeted in the morning that federal officials and the military will not be in Puerto Rico "forever."

Trump's tweet was criticized by Democrats and the press as a sign that Trump was about to pull federal resources from the hurricane recovery effort on the U.S. island territory.

But Kelly said at a White House press briefing that the goal of federal first responders is to get Puerto Rico back up on its feet as quickly as possible, and then leave.

"I think he said the U.S. military and FEMA can't be there forever, right?" Kelly asked reporters.
"First responders," he continued. "The minute you go anywhere as a first responder, and this would apply certainly to the military, you are trying very hard, working very hard to work yourself out of a job."

Sessions Calls on Congress to End Abuse of Asylum Process +

Via Billy

 Attorney General Jeff Sessions

Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Thursday called for Congress to swiftly pass policy proposals from the Trump administration that would help rectify abuses of the asylum process.

Sessions addressed the Executive Office for Immigration Review, which oversees the administration of America’s immigration courts.

"The immigration laws that Congress has enacted are some of the most generous in the world," Sessions said. "Indeed, we will soon reach the highest level of non-native born Americans in our history."

However, a failure to properly enforce immigration laws has resulted in an estimated 11 million illegal immigrants currently living in the United States. One of the ways by which said aliens take advantage of the immigration system is through so-called "credible fear" claims for asylum seekers, Sessions said.

Tax reform can finally drain the swamp by getting rid of lobbyists

Via Billy

Making the tax code fairer and flatter will accomplish the Trump administration's goal of draining the swamp by weakening the power that corporate lobbyists have in Washington. The corporate side of the tax ledger, which has created a policy status quo in which some industries are taxed at a 35 percent rate while others pay no taxes, is a horrid mishmash of social engineering and corporate welfare. Lowering the rate and broadening the base will stop the government from picking winners and losers and fire a warning shot across the bow of the corporations whose tax rate is determined more by their lobbying teams than by smart policy.

Rush Limbaugh Says Steve Bannon Is Taking Over The GOP

Via Billy

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh made a bold statement on his program about Steve Bannon and the current state of the Republican Party.

Limbaugh believes Bannon, the former White House chief strategist, is taking over the roles and responsibilities meant for GOP leadership by enforcing conservatism onto Republican candidates up for re-election.

“I think what Bannon is doing is slowly but surely taking over the role of the Republican Party,” Limbaugh said Wednesday. “The Republican Party is obviously not with Trump on balance — you have some in the House who are — but the Republican Party on balance is not with Trump.”

Congress warned North Korean EMP attack would kill '90% of all Americans'

Via Billy

Congress was warned Thursday that North Korea is capable of attacking the U.S. today with a nuclear EMP bomb that could indefinitely shut down the electric power grid and kill 90 percent of "all Americans" within a year.

At a House hearing, experts said that North Korea could easily employ the "doomsday scenario" to turn parts of the U.S. to ashes.

In calling on the Pentagon and President Trump to move quickly to protect the grid, the experts testified that an explosion of a high-altitude nuclear bomb delivered by a missile or satellite "could be to shut down the U.S. electric power grid for an indefinite period, leading to the death within a year of up to 90 percent of all Americans."

Kelly to White House Press Corps: ‘It’s Astounding to Me How Much Is Misreported’ '

Via Billy

White House Chief of Staff John Kelly told the White House press corps on Thursday that the amount of misreporting they do is "astounding."

A reporter asked Kelly at the White House press briefing to "peel back the curtain" on President Donald Trump's frustrations, leading Kelly to point his finger at the media.

"One of his frustrations is you, all of you," he told members of the White House press corps. "Not all of you, but many of you."

(This was written by LTC (USA, ret.) Robert M. Heffington, as an open letter to graduates of the United States Military Academy at West Point. It has only been edited for format, and may differ in that respect from the original. My apologies to Lt. Colonel Heffington if this has been misrepresented in any way)

Dear Sir/Ma’am,

Before you read any further, please understand that the following paragraphs come from a place of intense devotion and loyalty to West Point. My experience as a cadet had a profound impact upon who I am and upon the course of my life, and I remain forever grateful that I have the opportunity to be a part of the Long Gray Line. I firmly believe West Point is a national treasure and that it can and should remain a vitally important source of well trained, disciplined, highly educated Army officers and civilian leaders. However, during my time on the West Point faculty (2006–2009 and again from 2013–2017), I personally witnessed a series of fundamental changes at West Point that have eroded it to the point where I question whether the institution should even remain open.

Army to Deploy Israeli Trophy Armor System on Tanks

Via Billy

Israel’s battle-tested wonder weapon impresses the Department of Defense.

On March 1, 2011 an Israeli Merkava IV tank on patrol along the Gaza periphery was fired upon by Hamas terrorists from concealed positions within Gaza. Using a deadly RPG-29, a more advanced version of the RPG-7, the terrorists waited for impact. But their moment of glory never transpired. As the anti-tank projectile neared its target, a revolutionary platform – the Trophy Armor Protection System (APS) –  deployed on the Merkava IV detected the threat and instantly fired a number of pellets at the deadly menace, destroying and rendering it inert yards from the tank.

Barely three weeks later, Hamas terrorists experienced further failure.

The Antifa Threat to America: Far-Left Hatred for Trump and American Values

Antifa is an abbreviation for anti-fascist. In the United States, it is a loosely knit social media connected movement of about 200 local organizations that have in common a far Left political and cultural ideology especially characterized by mob violence and disrespect for free speech. They believe violence is warranted against any political or social action, agenda, or speech that contradicts their essentially Marxist ideology.

Austria set for rightward political turn after Sunday vote

Via Billy

Ahead of Austrian national elections Sunday, the question is less whether the country will swing rightward under the next government and more about how sharp that turn will be, with voters set to reward two major parties that have exploited fears of immigration and Islam.

Chancellor Christian Kern is vowing to take his center-left Social Democrats into the opposition if defeated and a handful of small parties are struggling to clear the 4 percent hurdle needed to get seats in parliament. Thus signs point to a coalition between the People's Party and the Freedom Party — which would represent a shift with implications for the European Union.

U.S. Quits the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization

President Donald Trump’s administration has announced today that America will withdraw membership from the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization.

UNESCO has been very anti-American for years and shamefully recognized Palestine as a full member. After America cut funding to the group, our country lost its voting rights in 2013.

President Trump was not willing to let America be part of an organization that has a “continuing anti-Israel bias.”

A press statement from State Department spokesperson Heather Nauert confirmed that the bold move will be completed in 2018:

Why the polls are still wrong

Via Billy

The polls that failed to detect the full strength of President Trump on Election Day continue to underestimate the president’s support for the job he is doing, paying way too much attention to the Twitter wars and ignoring the public support for many of the actions is undertaking.

This can create some serious misjudgments by organizations like the NFL and some Republican senators, who find out later that they buck the president only to their own detriment. And nothing was more devastating to Democrats than believing the election was over when it wasn’t.
