The Story of the Beginning of the War,The Irrepressible Conflict from Stories of Dixie

 Dedication-71K

"I believe the world has never produced a body of men superior, in courage, patriotism, and endurance, to the private soldiers of the Confederate armies. I have repeatedly seen those soldiers submit with cheerfulness to privations and hardships which would appear to be almost incredible; and the wild cheers of these brave men when their lines sent back the opposing host of Federal troops, staggering, reeling, and flying, have often thrilled every fiber in my heart. I have seen, with my own eyes, ragged, barefooted, and hungry Confederate soldiers perform deeds, which, if performed in days of yore, by mailed warriors in glittering armor, would have inspired the harp of the minstrel and the pen of the poet."

~~Gen. Jubal Early, CSA

[Publisher's Note, by Gene Kizer, Jr. : This is a GREAT story, which today would be classified as "YA" or "Young Adult." The only difference in YA fiction and regular short stories and novels, is that the YA protagonist is a teenager or young adult, as opposed to an adult. Since so many of our Confederate boys were this age during the war, this story gives us a vivid and realistic glimpse into their lives and the lives of their families before the war, how they enlisted and departed from home, and what they faced initially.

The story's pages in the book that have illustrations on them I have scanned so you can enjoy the drawings as you read the text. The author, James William Nicholson, says that northern Louisiana, where the story starts, is a microcosm of the Old South.

A Fig for the Constitution

When the scorpion’s sting is probing us to the quick, shall we pause to chop logic?

“A fig for the Constitution” if it does not protect our most basic rights was John Randolph’s nineteenth century estimation of the value of the Constitution. In 2021 his words of warning are even more applicable.

What power does the Constitution have to protect the First Amendment’s guarantee to peacefully assemble and the free exercise of religion when the government can declare a crisis and issue orders closing houses of worship? A fig for the Constitution! What power does the Constitution have to enforce the Fifth Amendment’s prohibition of the government’s “taking without due process of the law” when the government can declare a crisis, and take away private property by closing and bankrupting private businesses? A fig for the Constitution! What power does the Constitution have to protect private citizens’ Second Amendment Rights when a husband and wife who used legally owned firearms to protect their homes from leftists’ mobs are targeted by government for prosecution? A fig for the Constitution! What value is the Constitution’s guarantee of free speech when government sponsored monopolies in the digital and mainline media can censor speech that violates their neo-Marxist “community standards?” A fig for the Constitution!

Hey, GOP: We don't want a 'back to normal' Republican Party

 Via Billy

Image result for Hey, GOP: We don't want a 'back to normal' Republican Party

Here's a fact: Voters have lost confidence in the Republican Party. And Trump didn't do that; Republicans did.

Rep. Marcy Kaptur, D-Ohio, complained in a recent interview with The Hill that she feels like a minority in her own party. Kaptur shared data showing that 19 of the 20 wealthiest congressional districts in the country are now represented by Democrats, and she quoted unnamed Democratic colleagues whose callous comments reflected a complete lack of sympathy for or understanding of blue-collar Americans. And it isn't just working-class whites who feel they are being left behind by Democrats. Blacks and Hispanics voted Republican in much larger numbers in 2020.

Republicans see this as something of an opportunity.

Robert Shumaker: The Hanoi Hilton and the Creation of the Tap Code

Born in 1933 in New Castle, Pennsylvania Robert Shumaker (Bob) graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1956, and went on to marry Lorraine Shaw in 1963. In 1965, while flying an F8 Crusader, Shumaker became the second airman to be shot out of the sky over North Vietnam, his parachute barely opening before hitting the ground. He was picked up and brought to the Hoa Lo Hilton, the prison he would later humorously dub, The Hanoi Hilton. Shumaker endured a broken back from his parachute fall, but was denied medical treatment. Eventually the painful injury healed on its own, but for six months Shumaker struggled to walk and remained in excruciating pain.

During his eight years in captivity Shumaker helped coin the nickname the Hanoi Hilton, was involved in the creation of the Tap Code, an elaborate system created to allow US POW’s communicate through their cells and in person without their captors becoming aware, and was part of a group remembered as the Alcatraz Gang. The Alcatraz Gang-separated from the regular prison population at the Hanoi Hilton this group of Navy and Airforce officers- were thought to be extremely resilient and defiant in the face of their NVA captors. They were placed in solitary confinement and endured extra rounds of torture based on rank and age. Upon homecoming in 1973 Shumaker Shumaker attended US Naval Post Graduate School, receiving a PhD in Electrical Engineering and retiring in 1988 from the Pentagon at the rank of Rear Admiral.

Awards:

Admiral Shumaker’s military decorations include the Distinguished Service Medal, two Silver Stars, four Legions of Merit, the Distinguished Flying Cross, a Bronze Star, and two Purple Hearts. In 2011 he was presented with the Distinguished Graduate Award from the U. S. Naval Academy.

Supreme Court Will Decide Whether Police Can Enter A Home To Seize Guns Without A Warrant

 Supreme Court Telephone Arguments

The Fourth Amendment right against warrantless searches of a person’s home is a pillar of Americans’ constitutional liberties. Before a police officer or any other government official can enter your home, they must show a judge that they have probable cause that they will discover specific evidence of a crime.

There are some limited exceptions to this right. There is an “exigent circumstances” exception. If a police officer looks through a home’s window and sees a person about to stab another person, the officer can burst through the door to prevent the attack. There is also the “emergency aid” exception. If the officer looked through the same window and saw the resident collapsing from an apparent heart attack, the officer could run into the house to administer aid. Neither of these cases violates the Fourth Amendment and few would argue that it should be otherwise.

Texas: State’s party chairman, Allen West, is latest Republican to come out in support of declaring Texas an independent nation

Via Marc

Allen West, Texas Republican party chairman, speaks at a Trump rally in Dallas on 14 November 2020.

The Texas Republican party has endorsed legislation that would allow state residents to vote whether to secede from the United States.

In a talkshow interview, the party chair, Allen West, argued that: “Texans have a right to voice their opinions on [this] critical issue.

“I don’t understand why anyone would feel that they need to prevent people from having a voice in something that is part of the Texas constitution,” the former Florida congressman said of the Texas Referendum Independence Act. “You cannot prevent the people from having a voice.”

Dershowitz Warns Democrats are Setting a “Trap” for Trump Impeachment Lawyers

Could the Senate actually CONVICT President Trump during this sham impeachment?

Famed Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz says that the Democrats are setting a “trap” for Trump’s defense team.

Dershowitz says that if Trump’s attorneys fall into that trap, then Republicans such as McConnell could actually vote to convict Trump!

According to Dershowitz, the Democrats want Trump’s team to talk about election fraud.

Andy Ngo: Antifa/BLM Are Funded, Protected by Media, Politicians, Biden Administration

Andy Ngo of Unmasked: Inside Antifa’s Radical Plan to Destroy Democracytold Breitbart News on Thursday that Antifa and Black Lives Matter receive political and financial support from allies in the news media, politicians, and Biden administration officials.

“As the riots became more sophisticated and more entrenched in the right … they started to have really large sources of funding,” Ngo said on Thursday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow. “[Antifa and Black Lives Matter received] hundreds of thousands of dollars that supplied not just the basics like food and accommodation and travel, but things like riot gear, weapons, bail fund money, legal aid money.”

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government"

Via John "That is why our Founders insisted on forming a republic which is not hindered by all the downfalls inherent in a democracy. Notice that the Party of Pork never refers to the United  State by its proper designation and accurate description, a republic preferring to lie and refer to our nation as a democracy, in order to trick the feeble-minded, the gullible, the poorly educated and the misinformed."

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage.”

NC: Campaign to Remove Confederate Monuments

 Via Billy

https://nccred.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/blm.jpg

In numerous counties across North Carolina, Confederate Monuments occupy public spaces, including prominent placement on courthouse grounds. Confederate Monuments project the legacies of slavery and white supremacy; they are and are intended to be cultural symbols of racism; most of which were erected decades after the Civil War during the Jim Crow and Civil Rights eras. Those guarding the entrance of courthouses were intended as powerful messages of terror and injustice to all Black people who entered. They negate the very ideal of equal justice for all. That is their purpose.

Democrats looking to Secure $300 Million for CDC Gun Research

Via John

http://www.freakingnews.com/pictures/34000/Patriotic-Poster-34346.jpg

Democrats this week introduced bicameral bills to Congress that aim to give the Centers for Disease Control big bucks to support research into guns.

The Gun Violence Prevention Research Act of 2021 would appropriate $50 million to the CDC each fiscal year from 2022 through 2027, "for the purpose of conducting or supporting research on firearms safety or gun violence prevention." The legislation was introduced jointly by Rep. Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y., and Sen. Edward Markey, D-Mass., who were not coy about what laws the research would be used as justification to enact.

"We know of the commonsense solutions like the need for better and more robust background checks and the need to renew the assault weapons ban, but we must also seek other solutions,” said Maloney in a statement. "And we do that by studying gun violence like the public health crisis it is."

Oklahoma’s Republican Governor Uses Executive Order To Nullify Biden’s Executive Order

The States are starting to push back against Biden’s authoritarian rule.

Oklahoma’s governor Kevin Stitt has just issued an Executive Order that makes a recent Executive Order by Biden of no effect to the State of Oklahoma.

Stitt’s reason to nullify Biden’s Executive Order is due to the fact Biden’s executive order destroys thousands of jobs in the gas and oil industry and violates the Constitution too.

What Constitution? Sen. Rubio’s bill would suspend gun rights of anyone ‘investigated’ for domestic terrorism

 Via 4Branch

The following article contains editorial content written by a retired Chief of Police and current staff writer for Law Enforcement Today.

WASHINGTON, DC- The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution, contained within the Bill of Rights says:

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”

Pretty cut and dry, right? Perhaps someone needs to tell that to Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL). In 2019, Rubio introduced S.1778- Terror Intelligence Improvement Act of 2019.

Sounds pretty good, right? After all, improving terror intelligence is a good thing.

However as usually occurs with anything coming out of Congress, the devil is in the details. Under Rubio’s bill, it would allow the government to suspend the gun rights of anyone who has been investigated for domestic terrorism.

Not arrested…not convicted…investigated.

Sen. Mike Shirkey: “The Capitol Insurrection Was a Hoax!”

“If we don’t make a change, our vote will not count in 15 years,” he said

An absolute meltdown occurred today in Lib-Land when Michigan Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey said the Capitol “insurrection” was a hoax.

MichiganLive, the local fish-wrap, had this to say about the story:

The top Republican in the Michigan Senate referred to the violent Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol in Washington D.C., as a “hoax” in a meeting with county party leaders, a video recording of the interaction shows.

In a video shot at Spangler’s Family Restaurant in Jonesville, Michigan Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey, R-Clarklake, falsely claimed supporters of President Donald Trump were not at fault in the storming of the U.S. Capitol building.were not at fault in the storming of the U.S. Capitol building.

☝️ (editorial note from WeLoveTrump: what kind of journalism is this?  “Falsely claimed”?  That’s stated as a fact?  Really?  What journalism school did the hack who wrote this article go to?  Under what legal standard has it been proven as a fact that President Trump was “at fault” for quote “storming the Capitol”?  This is pure and unadulterated bias masquerading as news and they should be ashamed for printing it!)

Pro-Trump Lawyer Lin Wood Swears Under Oath He Has Evidence Mike Pence Is 'Traitor'

Lin Wood Mike Pence Traitor Donald Trump

Lawyer Lin Wood, a prominent booster of conspiracy theories involving former President Donald Trump, has claimed under oath that he has evidence proving that former Vice President Mike Pence is a "traitor."

Wood stated that he had already handed evidence proving Pence's alleged treachery to the U.S. Secret Service in a court filing on Tuesday. The filing was made in response to an attempt to remove him as the lawyer for Roslyn La Liberte, the plaintiff in a defamation lawsuit against MSNBC anchor Joy Reid.
