Dominique Venner: The Reasons for a Voluntary Death

Via Matthew

 Carl

Then out spake brave Horatius,
The Captain of the Gate:
To every man upon this earth
Death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better
Than facing fearful odds,
For the ashes of his fathers,
And the temples of his gods

Translated by Greg Johnson

Translations: Italian, Portuguese, Spanish

I am healthy in body and mind, and I am filled with love for my wife and children. I love life and expect nothing beyond, if not the perpetuation of my race and my mind. However, in the evening of my life, facing immense dangers to my French and European homeland, I feel the duty to act as long as I still have strength. I believe it necessary to sacrifice myself to break the lethargy that plagues us.

I give up what life remains to me in order to protest and to found. I chose a highly symbolic place, the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris, which I respect and admire: she was built by the genius of my ancestors on the site of cults still more ancient, recalling our immemorial origins.

While many men are slaves of their lives, my gesture embodies an ethic of will. I give myself over to death to awaken slumbering consciences. I rebel against fate. I protest against poisons of the soul and the desires of invasive individuals to destroy the anchors of our identity, including the family, the intimate basis of our multi-millennial civilization. While I defend the identity of all peoples in their homes, I also rebel against the crime of the replacement of our people.

The dominant discourse cannot leave behind its toxic ambiguities, and Europeans must bear the consequences. Lacking an identitarian religion to moor us, we share a common memory going back to Homer, a repository of all the values on which our future rebirth will be founded once we break with the metaphysics of the unlimited, the baleful source of all modern excesses.

I apologize in advance to anyone who will suffer due to my death, first and foremost to my wife, my children, and my grandchildren, as well as my friends and followers. But once the pain and shock fade, I do not doubt that they will understand the meaning of my gesture and transcend their sorrow with pride. I hope that they shall endure together. They will find in my recent writings intimations and explanations of my actions.

Coumo to State Sheriffs: Shut Up About Gun Law or Risk Termination

Via Cousin John

What many had assumed would be a meeting regarding New York State Sheriffs’ Association concerns about New York’s strict new gun laws, turned into a verbal scolding from the Governor which included the threat of some people’s jobs if they didn’t toe the line and shut up about the SAFE Act.

Via the Times Union:

The sheriffs thought they were being summoned to the Capitol to discuss ideas for changes to New York’s gun control law, the SAFE Act. Instead, Gov. Andrew Cuomo told them to keep quiet.Opposition to the new law has simmered in upstate areas since Cuomo signed the law in January. Many county sheriffs oppose it, particularly its expanded definition of banned assault weapons, and have spoken out around the state. In January, the New York State Sheriffs’ Association wrote Cuomo with an analysis, and later suggested tweaks.

Cuomo invited its leaders to the Capitol last month, people briefed on the meeting said.

Rather than discuss the merits of the letter, Cuomo asked those in attendance to stop publicly discussing opposition to the SAFE Act.

One individual briefed on the meeting claimed that Cuomo had threatened to remove some sheriffs from office.

What has raised the ire of the Governor is a lawsuit the Association has joined in, challenging the Constitutionality of the SAFE Act.

Lew taps government retiree pension fund

Via Cousin Bill

Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew said late Monday he will begin tapping into two government employee retirement funds to buy more time before the U.S. Treasury is faced with the prospect of defaulting on the national debt.

In a letter to congressional leaders, Lew said that he would tap the civil service retirement and disability fund and a similar fund that covers retired postal workers. The law allows him to remove investments from these funds to clear room for more borrowing until Congress votes to raise the debt limit

Under the law, any investments diverted from the pension funds must be replaced with interest once Congress approves raising the debt limit.

Lew has said the various bookkeeping measures he is allowed to employ should provide enough maneuvering room to keep the government from defaulting on its debt until after Labor Day. Other estimates say Lew may be able to forestall a default until as late as November.

In January, Congress voted to temporarily suspend the debt limit but that suspension ended Sunday.

Washington DC Will Be A Fortified City

North Carolina’s anti-Federalists believed the proposed powers of the federal judiciary were far too extensive, and many thought there should be no federal judges at all – and dreaded their interference with the State judges.  All cases of individual or State concern were believed to be better left to the State judiciary.
Bernhard Thuersam, Chairman
North Carolina War Between the States Sesquicentennial Commission
"The Official Website of the North Carolina WBTS Sesquicentennial"

Washington DC Will Be A Fortified City:

“At the sessions of the courts, at county militia musters, in the taverns, wherever men gathered, the main topics of conversation [in 1787] were the Constitution and its framers. In the heat of argument no man’s character was above attack and no past political or military service could overcome party animosity. Thomas Person, a general of the Revolution and patriot of undoubted sincerity, denounced Washington as “a damned rascal and traitor to his country for putting his hand to such an infamous paper as the new Constitution.”

Willie Jones, leader of the [North Carolina] anti-federalists, found it necessary to deny in the public press that he had “called the Members of the Grand Convention, generally, and General Washington and Col. Davie, in particular, scoundrels” ….William Lenoir of Wilkes county said later in the debates in the convention that his constituents had instructed him to oppose the adoption of the Constitution.  William Lancaster of Franklin [county] said that his own feelings and his duty to his constituents induced him to oppose the adoption of the Constitution, since he believed every delegate was bound by his instructions.

Lemuel Burkitt, a Baptist preacher strongly opposed to ratification, was a [convention] candidate in Hertford county.  In explaining the selection of an area ten square miles [to be] the seat of the [federal] government, Burkitt said: “This my friends, will be walled in or fortified. Here an army of fifty thousand, or perhaps, a hundred thousand men, will be finally embodied, and will sally forth, and enslave the [American] people, who will be gradually disarmed.”

[Hugh] Williamson…did not consider paper currency as honest tender because of its rapid depreciation. However convenient depreciated paper appeared to those who used it to discharge their debts, he contended that the credit and finances of the State had been injured by it. No part of the North Carolina debt of North Carolina had been discharged by the operations of paper money, “the whole advantage of depreciation being a mere juggle,” by which one citizen was injured for the convenience of another.”

So great were the evils of paper money that the dignity of government was wounded by declaring it legal tender, industry languished, the orphan was defrauded, and the most atrocious frauds were practiced under the sanction of the law.”

 Largest per-capita Loss
Beallsville, Ohio (pop. 475) gained unwanted national attention between 1966 and 1971 by having suffered the largest per-capita loss of life in the Vietnam War. Six young men lost their lives in the war, a terrible and profound loss for this small town.

Highest State Casualties
West Virginia had the highest casualty rate in the nation, according to the U.S. Department of Defense. The state had 711 casualties -- 39.9 deaths per 100,000 people. Oklahoma had the second-highest casualty rate.

Highest High School Casualties
Thomas Edison High School in Philadelphia sustained the largest number of Vietnam war casualties of any high school in the nation with 54.

The Marines of Morenci
They led some of the scrappiest high school football and basketball teams that the little Arizona copper town of Morenci (pop. 5,058) had ever known and cheered. They enjoyed roaring beer busts. In quieter moments, they rode horses along the Coronado Trail, stalked deer in the Apache National Forest. And in the patriotic camaraderie typical of Morenci's mining families, the nine graduates of Morenci High enlisted as a group in the Marine Corps. Their service began on Independence Day, 1966. Only 3 returned home.

Robert Dale Draper, 19, was killed in an ambush.
Stan King, 21, was killed less than a week after reaching Vietnam.
Alfred Van Whitmer, 21, was killed while on patrol.
Larry J. West, 19 was shot near Quang Nam.
Jose Moncayo, 22, was part of an entire platoon wiped out.
Clive Garcia, 22, was killed by a booby trap while leading a patrol.

The Buddies from Midvale
LeRoy Tafoya, Jimmy Martinez, Tom Gonzales were all boyhood friends and lived on three consecutive streets in Midvale, Utah on Fifth, Sixth and Seventh avenues. They lived only a few yards apart. They played ball at the adjacent sandlot ball field. And they all went to Vietnam..
In a span of 16 dark days in late 1967, all three would be killed. LeRoy was killed on Wednesday, Nov. 22, the fourth anniversary of John F. Kennedy’s assassination. Jimmy died less than 24 hours later on Thanksgiving Day. Tom was shot dead assaulting the enemy on Dec. 7, Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. Three hallmark all-American days. Three more names to be placed on the The Wall

These three US Marines Corps veterans were mistakenly left behind on Koh Tang Island during the Mayaguez incident. They were last seen together but unfortunately to date, their fate is unknown. They are located on panel 1W, lines 130 - 131.

The last pilot casualty in the country of Vietnam occured during the Embassy evacuation in Saigon, William C. Nystal and Michael J. Shea both died on the helicopter on April 30, 1975 approaching the USS Hancock in the China Sea (both are located at 1W, 124). The last pilot killed in the Vietnam war was Air Force helicopter pilot Second Lieutenant Richard Vandegeer who was killed on Koh Tang Island, Cambodia.     In Memory Day Since the war in Vietnam came to an end, there has been a growing sense among many veterans and their families that those who served in this nation's longest war have suffered and are continuing to suffer premature deaths related to their service. These deaths have been attributed to exposure to Agent Orange, post- traumatic stress disorder, and a growing list of other causes.

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund's In Memory Day program honors those who died as a result of the Vietnam War, but whose deaths do not fit the Department of Defense criteria for inclusion upon the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. Every year there is a ceremony to pay tribute to these men and women who sacrificed so much for their country. The ceremony is held on the third Monday in April — In Memory Day.

Hillary’s Benghazi ‘Scapegoat’ Speaks Out

DAS Maxwell visits Algiers (US Embassy Photo)

Raymond Maxwell, the only official at the State Department's bureau of Near Eastern Affairs to lose his job after the attacks, tells Josh Rogin that he’s been scapegoated by Hillary Clinton’s team.

Following the attack in Benghazi, Libya, senior State Department officials close to Hillary Clinton ordered the removal of a midlevel official who had no role in security decisions and has never been told the charges against him. He is now accusing Clinton’s team of scapegoating him for the failures that led to the death of four Americans last year.

Raymond Maxwell was placed on forced “administrative leave” after the State Department’s own internal investigation, conducted by an Administrative Review Board (ARB) led by former State Department official Tom Pickering. Five months after he was told to clean out his desk and leave the building, Maxwell remains in professional and legal limbo, having been associated publicly with the death of Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other American for reasons that remain unclear.

Maxwell, who served as deputy assistant secretary of state for Near Eastern affairs from August 2011 until his removal last December, following tours in Iraq and Syria, spoke publicly for the first time in an exclusive interview with The Daily Beast.

“The overall goal is to restore my honor,” said Maxwell, who has filed grievances regarding his treatment with the State Department’s Human Resources Bureau and the American Foreign Service Association, which represents the interests of foreign-service officers. The other three officials placed on leave were in the Diplomatic Security Bureau, leaving Maxwell as the only official in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs (NEA), which had responsibility for Libya, to lose his job.

“I had no involvement to any degree with decisions on security and the funding of security at our diplomatic mission in Benghazi,” he said.

The Epic Embarrassment of Congress, POTUS, General Ham, Admiral Gaouette… and AMERICA

 http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/s480x480/408482_611104328919419_2142878155_n.jpg

Benghazi:

I just emailed my roommate at USAFA, a career (now retired) F15 fighter pilot, a USAFA grad and retired Colonel, USAF, who has operated in the region. Here’s his report:

“The last step in a close-in PGM drop/release is for someone on the ground to laser the target. That was done. Then — no drop. Someone said ‘No’ at the last second.”

WHO SAID “NO”???

(PGMs are smart bombs – Precision Guided Munitions.)

Re-read that: “…the LAST STEP.”

General Ham (AFRICOM) owned ALL AC130 and armed drones in-theater. Ham was relieved that night – by some reports, within 30 sec of his talking with Obama. Admiral Gaouette owned all FA18 in the Med – he was relieved the next day. (And contemporaneous news reports were that the 6th Fleet was offshore Libya at the time – within minutes of flight time to Benghazi.)

WHY were they relieved? WERE attack assets overhead and – LITERALLY AT THE LAST SECOND – were those attack assets denied engagement by whoever replaced an instantly-relieved General Ham?

If those attack assets were not overhead, HOW can the lasing of the target be explained? One of the SEALs, alone, under attack and outgunned, left his machinegun to lase a target under an empty sky?

NO ONE in the entire military would believe that.

If attack assets were not overhead, HOW can the sacking of two flag officers be explained?

I have NEVER been as embarrassed by our entire government as I am today.  They are spending ALL DAY on side issues that all can devolve  - and have devolved – into he-said-he-said. WHERE ARE ADMIRAL GAOUETTE AND GENERAL HAM?

We WILL NOT KNOW what happened without their testimony.

Does ISSA not get this? How can he not? What is he hiding and why?

But – Ham and Gaouette are CITIZEN SOLDIERS. Their  FIRST DUTY is as AMERICAN CITIZENS.

WHERE ARE THEY? WHY have they not spoken-up? WHY has Issa not put them on the stand?

ANYONE relying on a currently-serving general officer or SecDef – BOTH of whom ARE POLITICAL APPOINTEES, or even a recently-retired C-JCS – the MOST POLITICAL OFFICER IN THE ENTIRE COMMAND STRUCTURE – is either abysmally ignorant of the military, does NOT want to know the truth, or is hiding something.

I understand that these two retired officers speaking up could cost them all retirement benefits (though Congress can override that) and that their peer-group as retirees is fellow flag officers, from whom they may ostracize themselves. BUT THEY HAVE A DUTY TO AMERICA that OVERRIDES THEIR PERSONAL COMFORT.

Hell – they USED to be fighting men.

Not to put too fine a point on it: Congress is failing in their oversight role. General Ham and Admiral Gaouette have epically failed in their responsibility to Americans as CITIZEN soldiers.

And of course the Obama administration has been lying about Benghazi since it occurred. But, frankly, most Americans already understand that Obama lies whenever and about whatever he wants, even when it’s not necessary. And Hillary has been called a liar for years – even by Barbara Walters in her 1996 interview, and by CBS News over the ‘we-landed-under-sniper-fire’ fiasco. So no one really expected honesty from the Administration.

Date Set for UN Disabilities Treaty Hearings

Read more about the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the threat it poses, and how you can stop it.

The U.S. Senate’s Foreign Relations Committee has just announced that there will be a hearing on the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities on June 4! The Senate needs to hear from you immediately that this already defeated UN treaty must not be ratified by the U.S. Senate.

The United States Senate must protect our domestic sovereignty and the care of children with disabilities from unelected, unaccountable UN bureaucrats. Parents know best how to care for their children with disabilities. U.S. law is currently the gold standard for ensuring that people with disabilities are protected and able to participate in all areas of U.S. society.

What You Can Do

The U.S. Senate is in session this week, which means that your senators are on the Hill till Friday. We need your help to do three things:

1. Call and email your two U.S. senators and urge them to oppose the UN CRPD. The Capitol Hill Switchboard is 202-224-3121, and you can use this link to email your senators. Use our advocacy website if you do not know who are your two U.S. senators.

2. Please share this article with your friends and family, and educate them about the dangers that this UN treaty poses to parental rights, homeschool freedom, and our nation’s sovereignty.

3. Next week, the Senate will be in recess for the Memorial Day weekend. We encourage you to visit your senators’ district offices in your state and urge them to reject UN control over our loved ones with disabilities. You can find the locations of your senators’ district offices by calling their D.C. offices or visiting their webpages.

Speak Out

Your message to your senators can be as simple as the following:
“I urge you to oppose the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. This treaty surrenders U.S. sovereignty to unelected UN bureaucrats and will threaten parental care of children with disabilities. Our nation already has laws to protect Americans with disabilities. This treaty is unnecessary and will hurt families by giving bureaucrats the power to decide what is in the best interests of a child with disabilities, not the child’s parents.”
To find out more about the CRPD please click here. To read the text of the CRPD please click here.
Thank you for joining us in this battle to protect our children and our children’s future. You defeated this treaty last year. Standing together, we can defeat this treaty once again.

Top IRS Official Will Take Fifth Before Congress

Absolutely make her appear.  If she is embarrassed, then too bad.

The IRS official over the division that reviews tax-exempt applications will invoke her Fifth Amendment right not to testify before Congress, her lawyer says.

Lois Lerner was scheduled to appear Wednesday before the House Oversight Committee. But in a letter to committee Chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., her lawyer says she will not offer testimony under her constitutional rights against self-incrimination, the Los Angeles Times reports.

"She has not committed any crime or made any misrepresentation but under the circumstances she has no choice but to take this course," said the letter from Lerner's defense attorney William W. Taylor III.

Taylor says in the letter that the Department of Justice has launched a criminal investigation into why conservative groups were targeted for extra scrutiny and that Issa's committee has asked Lerner for an explanation why she gave "false or misleading information" four times in 2012.

Taylor asked that Lerner be excused from appearing since she will not be answering questions. Since she will not testify, Taylor argued that making Lerner appear would "have no purpose other than to embarrass or burden her."

Ex-Diplomats Report New Benghazi Whistleblowers with Info Devastating to Clinton and Obama

 http://www.politifake.org/image/political/1210/the-benghazi-scandal-battaile-politics-1351336668.jpg

More whistleblowers will emerge shortly in the escalating Benghazi scandal, according to two former U.S. diplomats who spoke with PJ Media Monday afternoon.

These whistleblowers, colleagues of the former diplomats, are currently securing legal counsel because they work in areas not fully protected by the Whistleblower law.

According to the diplomats, what these whistleblowers will say will be at least as explosive as what we have already learned about the scandal, including details about what really transpired in Benghazi that are potentially devastating to both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

The former diplomats inform PJM the new revelations concentrate in two areas — what Ambassador Chris Stevens was actually doing in Benghazi and the pressure put on General Carter Ham, then in command of U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) and therefore responsible for Libya, not to act to protect jeopardized U.S. personnel.

Stevens’ mission in Benghazi, they will say, was to buy back Stinger missiles from al-Qaeda groups issued to them by the State Department, not by the CIA. Such a mission would usually be a CIA effort, but the intelligence agency had opposed the idea because of the high risk involved in arming “insurgents” with powerful weapons that endanger civilian aircraft.

Hillary Clinton still wanted to proceed because, in part, as one of the diplomats said, she wanted “to overthrow Gaddafi on the cheap.”

ACTION ALERT-Stop licenses for illegals in NC!

 NCFIRE

We CAN NOT do this by ourselves! If you want NC to become the nation's leader in illegal immigration, with the murder and mayhem that accompanies them, then sit back and let the Republicans in the NC House vote to approve HB786 - Reclaim NC Act (Licenses for illegals Act).

The bill passed this morning in the House Finance Committee with little opposition and now goes to the House Floor for a full vote. IF it passes the floor vote, it will then be transferred to the Senate for consideration. This is our LAST chance to fix or kill this bill, before it leaves the House of Representatives. Otherwise, NC will become THE place in the country, for an illegal alien to get a drivers license or a state issued ID card. Upon receiving one of these documents. they will immediately be conferred a quasi legal status, beyond the reach of State law enforcement.

We are being sold out for the almighty dollar. The House leadership thinks the way to win re-elections is to have the NC Chamber of Commerce, the NC Farm Bureau and the NC Travel and Tourism industry, contribute tons of cash for their re-election campaigns and to outspend the Democrats.

Let me just say one thing about that: The Republicans will LOSE future elections if they continue with their current ideology of outspending the opposition and catering to illegal aliens. They are loosing the LEGAL immigrant votes because of the special treatment they are showing to ILLEGAL immigrants and they are loosing the votes of their base because they no longer stand for their stated conservative values.

The way to win re-elections is to stand on principle and enforce the laws equally.

Please take a few minutes of your time to contact your local representative in the NC House. Tell them "you support the enforcement measures in HB786 BUT, you CAN NOT support Section 9 (licenses for illegals section) of HB786. Eliminate Section 9 or Kill the Bill!"

Do Not assume someone else will do it! It is your responsibility to save your state and your wallet from this insane proposal.

To find who represents you, go here and follow the instructions printed in red. http://ncleg.net/representation/WhoRepresentsMe.aspx
Please forward this message to everyone you know and implore them to contact their Representative in the NC House.

DOJ Secretly Monitored and Criminalized Three Fox News Reporters

Earlier today the Washington Post reported that Fox News' James Rosen had been secretly monitored by the Department of Justice. DOJ monitored his work and personal emails, read his work and personal emails, monitored his phones, monitored his movements and even named him as a criminal conspirator. Now, we know Rosen wasn't the only Fox News reporter targeted. Reporter William LaJeunesse, who extensively covered Operation Fast and Furious and national-security senior producer Mike Levine.

Fox News executive Michael Clemente is vowing to stand by reporters and slammed the administration for their intimidation tactics and assault on the First Amendment.
“We are outraged to learn today that James Rosen was named a criminal co-conspirator for simply doing his job as a reporter. In fact, it is downright chilling. We will unequivocally defend his right to operate as a member of what up until now has always been a free press.

Democratic senator uses Okla. tornado for anti-GOP rant over global warming

Good little useful idiot.

While many Americans were tuned into news coverage of the massive damage from tornadoes ravaging the state of Oklahoma, Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse took to the Senate floor to rail against his Republican colleagues for denying the theory of anthropogenic global warming.

Whitehouse spent 15 minutes chastising GOP senators and justified his remarks by alluding to states that seek federal assistance in the wake of natural disasters.

“So, you may have a question for me,” Whitehouse said. “Why do you care? Why do you, Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat of Rhode Island, care if we Republicans run off the climate cliff like a bunch of proverbial lemmings and disgrace ourselves? I’ll tell you why. We’re stuck in this together. We are stuck in this together. When cyclones tear up Oklahoma and hurricanes swamp Alabama and wildfires scorch Texas, you come to us, the rest of the country, for billions of dollars to recover. And the damage that your polluters and deniers are doing doesn’t just hit Oklahoma and Alabama and Texas. It hits Rhode Island with floods and storms. It hits Oregon with acidified seas, it hits Montana with dying forests. So, like it or not, we’re in this together.”

Parental Rights Amendment Now Accepting Cosponsors

  statue

The Parental Rights Amendment to the United States Constitution is back in the U.S. Congress! Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) will be the lead sponsor this term, with support from Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ). The Amendment has not yet been introduced, but has been through drafting and is now ready for circulation. This means it can be shared with your congressman and Rep. Meadows can begin to gather original cosponsors!

We are excited about our chances of moving the Amendment through the House this session, since supporting cosponsor Franks is the chairman of the Constitution Subcommittee of the House Judiciary Committee. This is the subcommittee the PRA will need to go through to reach the full Judiciary Committee, so his leadership there will help to pave a smooth path for its progress.

We are also excited about our behind-the-scenes progress in the Senate, and hope to confirm our lead sponsor there very soon.

In the newest iteration of the Amendment we have chosen to add a clarifying section to make sure the rights of every parent of a public school student will be protected as they were before the terrible Fields v. Palmdale ruling of the Ninth Circuit in 2005.

In that decision, the Court determined that parental rights “end at the school door.” (A later en banc decision of the Ninth Circuit softened the wording, but did not significantly change its meaning.) Such a termination of parental rights every time a child enters school is simply unacceptable.

This new section of the Parental Rights Amendment will ensure that parents have “the right to make reasonable choices in public schools for one’s child.” This will preserve the right, for instance, to opt one’s child out of a session the parents might find objectionable. It will not give parents any power over the school’s curriculum or what is taught to anyone else’s child. (The same section also provides an explicit protection of the right to choose public, private, religious, or home schooling.)

You can find the full text to the newly updated amendment here.

Action Item: Please Call Your Congressman

Now it is time to contact your congressman and ask him or her to sign on as an original cosponsor of the Amendment. This should be a friendly call, especially if your congressman has sponsored the PRA in the past.

Your message can be as simple as the following: “Representative Mark Meadows of North Carolina is gathering original cosponsors for the Parental Rights Amendment, and I would like to encourage my congressman to sign on. The language has been drafted but not introduced, so there isn’t a bill number yet, but you can contact Patrick Fleming in Rep. Meadows’ office for a copy of the resolution or to sign on as a cosponsor. Thank you.”

In many cases, your congressman and his staff will appreciate the call. In any event, please be courteous when you call; we are building relationships that can help the Amendment pass in the long run.

To find your congressman’s phone number, click on your state at ParentalRights.org/States. Be sure to call their Washington, D.C., office.

Then, you can check our website to see when your Congressman has signed on. We will keep the list as current as possible so that you can know when calls are no longer needed.

Why not also use this opportunity to encourage your friends and family to get involved with the Parental Rights Amendment by asking them to join you in calling Congress? Then, send them to our website to sign the petition so they can get these notices for themselves.

This would also be a good time, if you are able, to make a generous donation to ParentalRights.org to help us keep this exciting effort charging forward throughout the summer.

Thank you for taking action today as we prepare for the introduction of the PRA in Congress!

Sincerely,

Michael Ramey

Calif. law takes effect on microstamping guns

1W17GLOCK.JPG

A California law that requires all semi-automatic handguns to be equipped with technology that stamps its identifying information on bullet casings is now in effect after years of delays.

Though signed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2007, the law couldn't take effect as it was supposed to in 2010 because of patents on the technology, including at least one that had been bought up by a gun rights group to delay the law's implementation.

On Friday, Attorney General Kamala Harris officially certified and announced that patents were no longer an issue. Former state Assemblyman Mike Feuer, who authored the law, hailed it as a "monumental day for law enforcement" and said it was the first such law to go into effect in the nation. Other states, notably New York, have looked at such a law, but have had troubles getting it passed.

Tax-exempt Obama Foundation doesn’t exist at listed addresses

Via Cousin John

 Never would have thunk'..........

The “charity” run by President Barack Obama’s half-brother that was fast-tracked for IRS tax-exempt status is based at a Virginia UPS store, according to its website.

The organization’s IRS filings list another Virginia address that is actually a drug rehab center where the foundation does not appear ever to have been based.

The Barack H. Obama Foundation is run by Abon’go “Roy” Malik Obama, the half-brother of Barack Obama. As first reported by The Daily Caller, the foundation was speedily approved for IRS exemption by Lois Lerner, the IRS senior official at the center of the targeting of conservative organizations that have waited over two years to receive tax exempt status.

The charity was even given retroactive tax-exempt status despite never having bothered to apply for it. And its history of soliciting donations before receiving tax-exempt status was apparently overlooked.

The address listed on the site barackhobamafoundation.org is 107 S. West St. #401, Alexandria, Va., which houses a UPS store on a street that includes a tailor, a Catholic Charities thrift shop and a Gold Works jewelry store.

Team Obama Intimidates IRS Workers with Armed Guards, Threatens Them If They Talk

Monday afternoon, ABC News released a chilling report that details what journalists have faced while trying to get some answers from the Cincinnati IRS office, which is where a majority of the Tea Party targeting took place.

According to ABC, an "armed uniform police officer with the Federal Protective Service" "escorted" reporters through the public building. ABC says if the intent wasn't to "scare off" employees who might talk, "it was the effect."

ABC News is also hearing conflicting reports from Cincinnati IRS employees and the IRS Headquarters in Washington. A Washington spokesman told ABC that press queries are "referred to the press office," but that "people have First Amendment rights, they are entitled to speak."

An employee in OH said that is not the case and that staffers have been threatened with their jobs if they are caught talking to the media:

At the [Cincinnati] IRS office on the fourth floor, a woman who answered the buzzer referred reporters to officials in Washington, though they were not returning very many calls. That staffer also said she was not allowed to speak to anyone – a line that was repeated by agency personnel during the week.

5 dead in 'bank robbery' mystery in Israel

A gunmen shot four people in a bank, took a hostage, and then killed himself. Early reports said it was a bank robbery, but Israeli police are not so sure.

A gunman stormed into a bank in the southern Israeli city of Beersheba Monday, killing four people in a gunfight and taking a hostage before killing himself, police said.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said the shootings happened inside the bank, which was cordoned off with a large number of police. Israeli TV footage showed several ambulances parked outside. Four other people were wounded, one of them seriously.

Police said they were investigating the incident and backed off from initial claims that it had been a bungled bank robbery.

"We are not convinced entirely at this point that we are talking about a robbery or an attempted robbery but it could be we are talking about an incident where from the start, the murderer came in with an intention to shoot," national police chief Yohanan Danino told reporters.

A Champion Living In A White Squatter Camp

 irene01

For all who are following our work with Irene, the 15 year-old runner who lives in a White squatter camp near Pretoria, South Africa, here’s the news:

On my last trip I went to a school regional track meet where Irene ran in both the 800m and the 1500m races.  She won Gold in both.  I also discovered that she runs barefoot, as do most of the children, because they can’t afford shoes.  The shoes we made for Irene were customized since she has no toes.  They were stolen within days by a drug addict in the camp.  He sold them so we can’t get them back even though we know who he is.  So now she runs with no shoes.
