The Truth Hurts: Nobel Prize Winning DNA Pioneer Stripped of Titles After Sharing His Views on IQ and Race

Distinguished scientist and Nobel Prize winner James Watson was stripped of several honorary titles after suggesting our genetic makeup cause differences in IQ tests.

Watson’s Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory stripped him of his titles following his comments.
Evidently, acknowledging racial differences in IQ scores is now forbidden — even from one of the greatest scientists of our time.

Watson’s laboratory condemns the misuse of science to justify prejudice.

STRANGE: Americans Want The Border Wall But Blame President Trump For The Shutdown

Via Billy

TIJUANA, MEXICO-MARCH 5, 2017: The border fence that separates the U.S. and Mexico in Tijuana runs all the way in to the Pacific Ocean.

Americans are increasingly bullish on a border wall but are souring on the government shutdown, according to two new polls out Sunday from CNN and The Washington Post.

The Washington Post reports that Americans are almost evenly split on whether they support a solid wall along the United States' southern border, up from the beginning of the immigration battle between Democrats and Republicans in Congress. That level of support is up ten points from a similar poll taken in January of 2017.

Buffett son spends millions to boost border security in rural Arizona, report says

Howard Buffett, Warren’s oldest son, has become a crusader at the border, using his organizations and wealth to boost security efforts of local authorities and volunteer groups, according to a recent report.

While his interest in border security may seem odd, a closer look at the 64-year-old billionaire and philanthropist reveals he’s no stranger to the issue. Buffett owns a ranch in Cochise County, Arizona, that sits just 300 yards from the U.S.-Mexico border.

In addition, a report by The Phoenix New Times indicated a close relationship between Buffett and law enforcement, with the former reportedly gifting $30 million to date to the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office and similar groups.

Democrats really suck at optics

Via Gleason Long

You’d think since all the Democrats have are phony narratives and breathless talking points they would be really good at optics.

But they’re not.

In fact, they really suck at optics.

And a government shutdown where each side has to successfully make the case that they are the ones who are on the side of the angels is one of those times when optics can really make a difference.

Sadly for the Democrats, their side is bungling it big time.

That was abundantly obvious Tuesday night when the Plywood Cutouts Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer stood woodenly side-by-side behind that too-small podium.

It wasn’t a good look.

H.R. 1: Democrats Act to Strip State Powers Over Elections

Via Billy

If you thought the midterm elections had problems, wait until you learn about Nancy Pelosi’s plan to terminate state control over American elections.

Democrats in Congress have announced their top legislative priority, and it isn’t health care, immigration, or taxes. Instead, they want to centralize power over elections in Washington, D.C. H.R. 1 is number one on the legislative agenda because it is the number one priority of House Democrats, leftist groups, deep-pocketed dark money, and those who use election process rules to help win elections -- or at least to cause chaos.

On Julian Green: "I find it marvelous that an American should be the greatest French writer of our time.”

There is the instant when it’s still not yet two o’clock on that July afternoon in 1863, the brigades are in position behind the rail fence, the guns are laid and ready in the woods and the furled flags are already loosened to break out…and it’s all in the balance, it hasn’t happened yet, it not only hasn’t begun yet but there is still time…

One summer day in Paris, France, just a year after the Great War, a former French military officer, not yet nineteen years of age was invited by his father to have a chat. Slim, handsome, and gifted, the young man knew it was time for the big talk concerning his future now that peace had returned.

To help him make a good decision, the father told the ex-officer that an uncle of his wanted to pay for his four years at the university. The young man’s father counseled Julian to accept his uncle’s generous educational offer. He was going abroad to The University, a great center of learning located in that distant land of which his beloved late mother had told him and his five sisters so many wondrous tales. Her tales seemed fabulous to this Parisian boy and the distant land his mother spoke of, sometimes in tears, became his favorite fairyland. Now he really was going there! His mother called it “the South.” He was going to attend the University, the only one with the right to an upper case U—Mr. Jefferson’s university, the University of Virginia. For the young Parisian Julian Hartridge Green, taking the journey across the wide ocean to become a student at that famous school was the beginning of a lifelong search to reclaim his heritage as a citizen of that faraway land, the American South.

My Grandfather Charles Franklin Koonce, was the Police Chief of Raleigh.
My grandfather was a big boozer and gambler. Once he was drinking and playing cards with his cronies when the subject of the election for the Raleigh Police Chief came up. Somehow, my grandfather took a bet that he could win it, which he did. However, he resigned after only 18 months, because he said he couldn't keep arresting his best friends, the bootleggers! This was in 1917.

Years later when he was on an extended drinking spree, my grandmother took over management of Panacea Springs Hotel outside of Littleton, NC. Once the doctor came and told my grandmother that my grandfather would have to be put in the hospital, but she didn't understand why. The doctor told her that my grandfather didn't even know where he was, and needed to dry out for a while!

Evidently, my father and my uncle took after him, as they would drive from town to town in NC taking bets between the two of them as to who could drink the most beers during each trip!

My father would come into the house, fill a water glass with bourbon, slug it down with a smattering of sink water. :)

****************************

Two days after one of her officers was shot, Raleigh Police Chief Cassandra Deck-Brown called Friday for an end to gun violence as she asked the community to support all police officers.

Officer Charles Ainsworth was responding to a report that a car stolen last week at gunpoint was seen in southwest Raleigh on Wednesday night when he was shot several times, including in the neck.

Deck-Brown refused to release any information about Ainsworth's condition, saying the family wants privacy. But she said everyone is "hopeful for a full recovery."

Alveda King: African American Leaders Unite to Support Trump's Wall

Via Billy

Some claim that building a wall is a “medieval solution” to a modern problem. The wheel is an ancient solution too. Nobody’s complaining about that. POTUS is on target. Walls do work; as in the days of Ezra and Nehemiah, walls are still viable solutions. Why now? Just days away are the March for Life and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday, yet America is in crisis at the southern border.

As an African American voice for justice, a defender of the sanctity of life, and perhaps most importantly, a Christian evangelist, I stand with President Trump as he labors to build a wall. From my perspective, compassion trumps terror. Our prayers are needed more than ever. We must rally around the wall to avert crisis.

Excellent: Memo to Trump: Declare an Emergency

Memo to Trump: Declare an Emergency

In the long run, history will validate Donald Trump’s stand on a border wall to defend the sovereignty and security of the United States.

Why? Because mass migration from the global South, not climate change, is the real existential crisis of the West.

The American people know this, and even the elites sense it.

Think not? Well, check out the leading liberal newspapers Thursday.
