Thomas Moore, RIP

Southern National Congress - Home | Facebook

In August, Thomas Moore, novelist and founding Chairman of the Southern National Congress, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Aiken, South Carolina at the too-early age of 73. Tom was South Carolina-born, a graduate of the Citadel and had an M.A. in National Security Affairs from Georgetown University. He worked for 25 years in powerful circles in Washington in defense-related agencies like the Pentagon and the Senate Armed Service Committee.

In Washington he began to understand that national “conservative” leaders are self-promoters who care nothing for our Southern viewpoint and people and indeed hold us in contempt. He returned home and initiated the creation of the Southern National Congress, which made him widely known and valued across the South. The Congress was to establish and forward Southern opinion (with due attention to State rights). While the Congress has not grown into the major institution that was hoped for, it remains alive.

After his change of mission, Tom got M.A.s  in both History and Creative Writing at University College in Ireland to prepare for future contributions to Southern literature. Shotwell Publishing issued Tom’s intriguing novel A Fatal Mercy: The Man Who Lost the Civil War.  Previously he published The Hunt for Confederate Gold, an upbeat and plausible treatment of near-future Southern independence, and No Villains, No Heroes, about a famous courtroom gunfight in Virginia.

In recent times Tom had gallantly devoted himself to the care of  his ailing wife Rhonda.  He had been in good health until recently and had received the COVID injection.

Thomas Moore’s passing is a loss to Southern literature and Southern leadership.

Biden Wants OPEC to Increase Oil Production

Breitbart

There's an old joke about a Prohibitionist minister walking into a roadside dive bar to inspect the place for sin. On the way out an hour or so later, he's asked for his evaluation. "It's a very bad place, this bar," he says. "People are constantly drinking and dancing, and the bartenders have watered down even the best whiskey," he replied.

President Joe Biden's trip to Glasgow for the United Nation's climate conference brought that to mind. With the price of oil pushing $85 a barrel and the price of gasoline hitting the highest level in seven years, Biden found himself in the awkward position of publicly pleading for more fossil fuel production at a global summit about reducing carbon emissions.

"I think, though, that if anybody thinks about it, no one ever thought that tomorrow — for example, it’s going to take us between now and 2030 to have half the vehicles in America electric vehicles. So, the idea we’re not going to need gasoline for automobiles is just not realistic. But we will get to the point that, by 2050, we have zero emissions," Biden said, explaining the tension.

Of course, there's very little reason for Saudi Arabia, Russia, or the rest of the OPEC cartel to ramp up production to aid Biden's political standing or the U.S. economy. They can hear the president's message just as well as anyone. And the message is a dagger aimed at the national wealth of the Saudis, Russians, and their fellow fossil fuel producers. Biden's words—"the idea that we're not going to need gasoline for automobiles is just not realistic. But we will get to that point"—is a promise to try to put those countries out of business.

And not just those countries. It's a threat to U.S. producers as well, which may explain why the surge in oil prices is not apparently leading to a surge in investment. Add to that the $100 billion in taxes the Biden administration reportedly plans to put on oil and natural gas companies, and you have a pretty big disincentive to put more money into those activities.

This means we are likely going to be dealing with high energy prices through the winter, at least. AAA said Monday that pump prices will likely keep climbing so long as oil remains above $80. No wonder Biden's job approval is tanking along with the number of Americans who tell pollsters we have a good economy.

Gotham City? As Crime Skyrockets, Government Abandons Cops, Detectives’ Union Boss Warns ‘The City Will Fall’

The head of a major New York Police Department union has predicted that without a shift in the way New York City’s leadership approaches police officers after next week’s mayoral race, the city will eventually “fall” to criminals.

Paul DiGiacomo, the head of the Detectives’ Endowment Association, told Fox News in an interview that was published on Saturday that officers in the Big Apple need major assistance and they need it now.

Morale is at an all-time low while crime has trended up after funds for the police department were cut, bail reform laws went into effect and the culture turned against policing beginning last year amid protests following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

Manchin wavers on Biden's plan, rebuffs far-left Dems

"As more of the real details outlined in the basic framework are released, what I see are shell games and budget gimmicks that make the real cost of this so-called $1.75 trillion dollar bill estimated to be twice as high if the programs are extended or made permanent," he said.

Sen. Joe Manchin wavered Monday on his support for President Joe Biden's sweeping $1.75 trillion domestic policy proposal, saying instead it’s “time to vote” on a slimmer $1 trillion infrastructure package that has stalled amid talks.

The West Virginia Democrat's announcement comes as Democrats want a signal from Manchin that he will support Biden's big package. He's one of two key holdout senators whose votes are needed to secure the deal and push it toward passage.

Instead, Manchin rebuffed far-left Democrats, urging them to quit holding “hostage” the smaller public works bill as negotiations continue on the broader package.

"Enough is enough," Manchin said at a hastily called press conference at the Capitol.

Donald J. Trump

The Fake News media, together with some of the perverts doing ads ad nauseam on primarily Fox (Fox shouldn’t take those ads!), are trying to create an impression that Glenn Youngkin and I are at odds and don’t like each other. Importantly, this is not true, we get along very well together and strongly believe in many of the same policies. Especially when it comes to the important subject of education. The reason the Fake News and perverts are working over time is to try and convince people that we do not like each other, and therefore, my great and unprecedented Make America Great Again base will not show up to vote. Also, I am not a believer in the integrity of Virginia’s elections, lots of bad things went on, and are going on. The way you beat it is to flood the system and get out and vote. Remember this, Glenn Youngkin is a good man, a hardworking man, a successful man. He loves Virginia and wants to cut your taxes, save your children’s education, and many other very good things. Terry McAuliffe is a low-life politician who lies, cheats, and steals. He was a terrible high-tax governor and would be, if elected, an even worse governor again. I say to all of our millions of followers, don’t listen to the Fake News and misleading advertisements written largely by already-acknowledged perverts. Get out and vote for a man who will be a great governor, Glenn Youngkin!

Hyperinflation Warnings: Bad Government Has Awful Consequences

In 1965, I wrote a check for $165.00 in Rio de Janeiro to a famous jewelry store. It was not cashed until exactly a year later, the legal time limit on checks. The Brazilian inflation rate was over 80 percent that year, and my check was passed around and used as a substitute for the rapidly declining value of Brazilian currency.

Brazilian inflation began a sharper escalation after 1981, when the rate had climbed to 102 percent annually. By 1990, the inflation rate was over 70 percent per month and peaked at an annual rate of 2,948 percent.

Lindsey Graham Reportedly Called for Officers to Murder Jan. 6 Protesters: ‘You’ve Got Guns… Use Them’

Senator Lindsey Graham reportedly called for law enforcement to murder Trump supporters who were protesting on January 6th.

The shocking allegation was mentioned in an article in the Washington Post about the timeline of events on that day.

In a portion about how lawmakers had to shelter in place when protesters breached the building, the paper describes Graham urging the Senate’s sergeant-at-arms to use guns against the members of his own party.
