Buchanan: Rubio Can’t Win White House–Trump OR Cruz Could

Via Mike

cruz-trump-2016

Donald Trump won more votes in the Iowa caucuses than any Republican candidate in history.

Impressive, except Ted Cruz set the new all-time record.

And Marco Rubio exceeded all expectations by taking 23 percent.

Cruz won Tea Party types, Evangelicals, and the hard right.

Trump won the populists and nationalists who want the borders secure, no amnesty, and no more trade deals that enable rival powers like China to disembowel American industries.

And Rubio? He is what columnist Mark Shields called Jimmy Carter, 35 years ago, “the remainderman of national politics. He gets what’s left over after his opponents have taken theirs by being the least unacceptable alternative to the greatest number of voters.”

Remember This Video? "Bundy Shootout - Account of Witness Mark McConnell"

and we thought he was a FED?  Well, looks like we may have been correct and we now have a face to to remember. Below is part of this post: Outpost Of Freedom

"Mark McConnell (if that is even his real name), had previously issued a statement that LaVoy had supposedly “charged” toward the officers.  According to Shawna Cox, however, McConnell was not even present and had no personal knowledge whatsoever of what happened at the roadblock where LaVoy was killed.

By way of background, McConnell had shown up at the refuge just two days earlier and ingratiated
himself into their circle.  He insisted on driving Ammon Bundy to the meeting.  His vehicle was stopped at the outset, immediately surrounded by other vehiclesnand officers, and Ammon was arrested at that point, without incident.

According to Shawna Cox, McConnell was never arrested ? and hasn’t been charged.

Consequently, at this point it seems fairly obvious that McConnell was either an undercover agent who was helping to orchestrate the whole thing, or he was bribed somehow.  But he never even saw
what happened with LaVoy."

Two statements from the Finicum family

LaVoy Finicum's family knew him and what he stood for. Following is their response to the tragedy that has struck there family.

STATEMENT FROM THE LAVOY FINICUM FAMILY 1-29-2016

We know that there are always at least two sides to every story. We also know and recognize that the FBI and law enforcement agencies involved will do everything in their power to make it appear as if the needless death of our husband, father, grandfather, brother and son, LaVoy Finicum, was justified.

Like almost everyone else, we were not there, so we don’t know exactly what happened. Like most others, we have no choice but to rely on other sources of information. One of those sources of information is the account of Victoria Sharp. Another piece of information is the video recently released by the FBI, along with the FBI’s chosen narrative of what happened. In response to this information, we would like to make a few observations.

SUPPLEMENTAL STATEMENT FROM THE LAVOY FINICUM FAMILY 2-2-2016

The purpose of this statement is to supplement the statement we issued earlier. It does not contradict our previous statement, but only serves to supplement, support and add detail to our previous position.

At this point, based on the additional information we have now received, it is our position that not only was the shooting death of LaVoy Finicum completely unjustified, but that the FBI and Oregon State Police may also be engaging in a cover-up, and seeking to manipulate and mislead the media and the American public about what really happened.

We realize this may sound like a bold statement, but now that Shawna Cox, who was a passenger in LaVoy’s vehicle, and an eye witness, has been released from custody, we have now had the opportunity to hear yet another account, and the ability to start cross- referencing all currently available information to figure out what really happened. This has shed important additional light on the whole ordeal -- especially when Cox is given the opportunity to essentially narrate what is happening in the video, from an eye witness standpoint.

It is our position that under the guise of claimed transparency, the FBI was very quick to release a very grainy, edited video, along with their interpretation of what they claimed it showed, without any audio overlay, in an effort to attempt to try to make the first impression on this issue, and seek to sway public opinion from the outset.

Based on Shawna Cox’s account, coupled with the account of Victoria Sharp, and comparison to the video released by the FBI, we now desire to make the following additional observations:

North Carolina: Muslim Convert Planned to Kill 1,000 Americans

Via comment by Anonymous on How many times Muslims invaded Europe vs. European...

A North Carolina man killed his neighbor and stole the man’s money so he could buy an assault rifle to carry out an Islamic State-inspired shooting at a concert or club, according to an indictment unsealed Monday.

The federal indictment also accuses Justin Nojan Sullivan of offering an undercover FBI employee money to kill his parents, who he believed would interfere with his plans for an attack.

The 19-year-old suspect, who was arrested in June, “planned to carry out his attack in the following few days at a concert, bar or club where he believed that as many as 1,000 people could be killed using the assault rifle and silencer,” the indictment said.

Border agent: 'We might as well abolish our immigration laws altogether'

Should border control agents be prevented from tracking illegals?

In a shocking reversal of policy, U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents are being told to release illegal immigrants and no longer order them to appear at deportation hearings, essentially a license to stay in the United States, a key agent testified Thursday.

What's more, the stand down order includes a requirement that the whereabouts of illegals released are not to be tracked.

"We might as well abolish our immigration laws altogether," suggested agent Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council.

Rutherford Institute Warns Against Government Attempts to Intimidate Journalists by Prosecuting Radio Shock Jock Pete Santilli Over Oregon Standoff

Via avordvet

Warning against attempts by the government to intimidate journalists whose reporting portrays the government in a negative light or encourages citizens to challenge government injustice and wrongdoing, attorneys for The Rutherford Institute have weighed in on the government’s arrest and ongoing prosecution of radio shock jock Pete Santilli. Santilli, a new media journalist who broadcasts his news reports over YouTube and streaming internet radio, was arrested and has been charged along with seven other individuals connected to the recent occupation of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Burns, Oregon. Santilli is the only journalist among those who have been charged with conspiracy to impede federal officers from discharging their duties by use of force, intimidation, or threats. In advising the public defender about the First Amendment principles at play in Santilli’s case, Rutherford Institute attorneys took issue with the government’s case against Santilli as laid out in its Criminal Complaint, which makes clear that Santilli is being charged solely as a reporter of information and not as an accomplice to any criminal activity.

The Rutherford Institute’s memorandum on the First Amendment rights of journalists and the government’s complaint regarding Santilli are available at www.rutherford.org.

Raise The Black Flag

I have been meaning to write a post for a week or so now, concerning patrol formations. But things have been busy with the post on the Finicum killing. I may yet get round to the patrol formation post, but given recent events, I have to ask myself: WHY? It’s just more free tactical chicken on the Internet that will perhaps intellectually interest some, but will be no use to anyone who is not willing to participate in training.

In light of these posts:

On Legitimacy

Unity of Effort, Infighting, and Black Helicopters

It really makes you wonder, particularly when you assess the fallout from the Finicum killing, and also anecdotes on the forum about the inability of people to conduct maintenance training, and effectively work together as teams.

Do I think this post today will make any positive difference? The answer is, sadly, no.

"Who is Donald Trump?"

Via Sister Anne

The better question may be, "What is Donald Trump?"

The answer: A giant middle finger from average Americans to the political and media establishment.

Some Trump supporters are like the 60s white girls who dated black guys just to annoy their parents. But most Trump supporters have simply had it with the Demosocialists and the "Republicans in Name Only."

They know there isn't a dime's worth of difference between Hillary Rodham and Jeb Bush, and only a few cents worth between Rodham and the other GOP candidates.

Ben Carson is not an "establishment" candidate, but the Clinton machine would pulverize Carson, and the somewhat rebellious Ted Cruz will (justifiably so) be tied up with natural born citizen lawsuits (as might Marco Rubio).

Millions of conservatives are justifiably furious. They gave the Republicans control of the House in 2010 and control of the Senate in 2014 and have seen them govern no differently than Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.

Yet those same voters are supposed to trust the GOP in 2016? Why?

Ammon Bundy and 15 others involved in the armed occupation of Malheur National Wildlife Refuge near Burns, Oregon were indicted Wednesday, prosecutors told reporters. Defense attorneys claim their clients were exercising non-violent civil disobedience.

The indictment remains sealed, though Assistant US Attorney Geoff Barrow said it would be released within 24 hours. Defense lawyers sought to have it released immediately, but US Magistrate Judge Janice Stewart denied their request.

Few details related to the indictment are known, but at least 11 of the people charged were arrested last week on charges of felony conspiracy. They are Ammon Bundy, Ryan Bundy, Ryan Payne, Brian Cavalier, Shawna Cox, Joseph O'Shaughnessy, Pete Santilli, Jason Patrick, Duane Ehmer, Dylan Anderson, and Jon Ritzheimer.

Lavoy Finicum, The FBI, and Why You’re Missing the Point

Via WRSA

 finicum-750x393

Throughout the past month we have heard news here and there about the “standoff” in Burns, Oregon.  I’m not going to get into the specific reasons why the group was there, to sum it up, it was a protest against unconstitutional federal government power.  As part of their protest, the group occupied an empty federal building and aired their grievances.  This last week we all read and heard about the “shootout” between the FBI and a small group of the protestors.  There are a couple of things we need to clarify about this confrontation.  First off, it wasn’t a shootout.  In order to have a shootout, you must have two parties shooting at each other.  This wasn’t the case as the FBI gunned down a man in cold blooded murder.  Secondly, the accounts from the FBI and from witnesses with Lavoy have extreme differences.  For example, the FBI says they only fired three shots, but when Victoria Sharp an eighteen-year old girl who was a passenger in the vehicle heard that, she said, “Are you kidding?  They shot maybe 120 times.”

Huey Long's Potlikker Recipe

 huey long

In Louisiana history and folklore, Huey Pierce Long occupies a very special niche.  To be depressingly brief, he was born and reared in north-central Louisiana’s hardscrabble Winn Parish where, in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, contrariness, populism and socialism were dominant.  Charismatic and unscrupulous but unquestionably brilliant, Huey secured a law degree and entered politics.  With a knack for selling himself to the embittered rural population of one of the South’s poorest states, he enjoyed rapid success and in 1928, at age 35, was elected governor on his second attempt.  Ignoring the state constitution, he established a remarkably well-oiled political machine that he used for the benefit of the “country folk” who were the backbone of his support and to intimidate the aristocratic elite who, correctly, viewed him as a threat to tradition.    In 1930, Huey was elected to the United States Senate but refused to take his seat until he had ensured that Louisiana state government was firmly in the hands of his chosen successors.  While in the Senate, he maintained an iron grip on events at home.

Yankee Issued Matches

The hatred of the North engendered by Sherman’s devastation in Georgia and the Carolina’s would not easily subside. In 1898 President William McKinley, himself a Northern major during the war, visited Atlanta in December 1898 for a Peace Jubilee. McKinley wore a Confederate badge on his lapel and declared in an address to the Georgia legislature that “Confederate graves were “graves of honor” and it was the duty of the United States government to keep them green.”
Bernhard Thuersam, www.Circa1865.com   The Great American Political Divide

Yankee Issued Matches

“When word [of Sherman’s invasion of South Carolina] reached the plantations of the Low County, terror bordering on panic swept the towns and countryside . . . and with only old men, women, children and a few slaves who had not deserted left on the lands, [all] lay vulnerable before the invaders.

Some of the families moved farther north, ostensibly out of Sherman’s path. Three families who lived in the area south of Allendale fled to the plantation of Dr. Benjamin William Lawton. An occupied house was less subject to being burn; deserted houses, left vacant, were usually torched.

But the three families who set up housekeeping in the basement of Dr. Lawton’s house in Allendale were no safer than they might have been in their own homes. Sherman’s forces routed out the families, and set fire to the house of that signer of the Ordinance of Secession, Dr. Benjamin W. Lawton. All Lawton’s possessions dissolved in flames.

Lawton’s wife, Josephine, was warned [of this] and hastily took her children and house servants to Gaffney, South Carolina, where they were given haven by friends . . . There Josephine’s seventh child was born. In early 1865 another Lawton, Dr. James Stoney . . . returned [from Georgia] to find his house in ashes.

At least one Lawton home escaped destruction by fire. Major-General High Judson Kilpatrick . . . ordered his men to keep their issue of matches in their pockets while he occupied Rose Lawn, the home of Reverend and Mrs. Joseph A. Lawton in Allendale, as his headquarters during the days of battle and destruction in the area.

With his mistress said to have been ensconced in a large front bedroom – she accompanied [Kilpatrick] from one headquarters to another in his sweep from Savannah to Columbia – he delegated a small back room to the elderly owners. To the godly couple who had to stand by while the woman of “ill-repute” occupied their bedchamber, this must surely have added basest insult to dastardly injury.

[South Carolina] lay in ruins, and the Southern cities of Richmond, Atlanta, Charleston and Columbia were blackened rubble. Sherman’s men under [Kilpatrick] had used their issues of matches to fire countless towns, villages, plantations, farms, and railroads; open fields and pine forests were reduced to shambles.”

Massive 'Obama is a Murderer' Banner Hung Opposite US Embassy in Moscow

Via comment by Anonymous on Students clash over waving Confederate flags in sc...

 Dated

This beautiful 3 story high (30 ft) portrait of America's favorite Nobel Peace Prize winner now hangs across the street from the US embassy in Moscow.

The details:

Early this morning in Moscow, a 30-foot flag featuring Barack Obama was raised to the top floor of a building across from the U.S. Embassy. In blood red letters, the word “KILLER” is stamped beneath the face of the president, which is Russian for "assassin" or "murderer".

The evening before, a laser display projected “Obama Killer #1” onto the U.S. Embassy itself.
