"He Loves His Job"

The Multicultural Politically Correct Briar Patch

Despite the establishment attempts to throttle free speech—most recently actions taken by PayPal, by Google, by Facebook, by Amazon and by other major Internet sites to both block access to sites that these lords of the Net consider to be “racist, sexist, extremist, Neo-Confederate and far right,” and to prevent Internet financial transactions for them—still there are intrepid souls out there who increasingly risk not only this kind of censorship, but even worse penalties. Is not jail time a real possibility in the future for those—for us—who do not conform to the increasingly severe and ideologically weaponized rules and laws that emit from our managerial elites, both seen and unseen?

The student who makes what, in the opinion of a female student, is a “sexist” remark can be, in too many colleges to name, sanctioned, even expelled. A worker in a business who happens to let slip a word or comment vaguely considered “racist,” or homophobic by someone standing near, can be terminated, or, perhaps even worse, made to sit through interminable “sensitivity” sessions organized by that company’s EEOC bureaucrats.

"The United States has much less than the world average rate of mass public shooters"

At least 21 killed in school shooting massacre in Crimea, wounds more than 65, 10 in critical, 5 in coma described as “extremely grave”

Unless you watch the news closely you likely missed the news that a day ago there was a very deadly mass public school shooting in Crimea. It will probably be another day or so until there is a good idea how many people were killed by eighteen-year-old Vladislav Roslyakov. This case will quickly be forgotten in the news coverage.

There is even bias in even some of the headlines on this story. Take the UK Mirror whose subheadline is: “Vladislav Roslyakov’s victims have emerged after he killed 21 in a bomb and gun attack at a college in Kerch.” In Australia, the headline reads: “Teenagers among 19 killed in bombing, shooting, at Crimea college.” But “all the victims died of gunshot wounds.”

10 Tips For Eating Better

Vietnam: A History of Rice Wine (Whiskey), Part 1: Family Stills, Prohibition and Colonial Bloodshed

Unlike Western wine, which is typically 12-16% alcohol by volume (ABV), distilled rice wine can range anywhere from 20% to 50% ABV, making it more akin to hard alcohol. (Don't know where he got this from as it's 70, 80 and 90.)

To understand this choice that hundreds of Vietnamese once faced, we must go back several centuries. While Vietnamese and their ancestors have been consuming alcohol for thousands of years, removing water from the liquid to increase its potency — a process known as distillation — dates back only to the 14th century in Asia. Since then, rice wine has been an integral part of Vietnam’s social traditions, economy and culture. Examining its history not only provides insights into rapidly disappearing ways of life, but also French colonialism’s far-reaching and disastrous impact on the country.

"JOBS OR MOBS": Jobless claims drop 5,000 to 210,000 in mid-October, stick near 50-year low

 "JOBS OR MOBS"

“The number of Americans losing their jobs and applying for unemployment benefits each week remained near a 49-year low in mid-October,” Jeffry Bartash reports for MarketWatch. “It can’t get a whole lot better in the U.S. job market. Openings just hit a record high, the U.S. unemployment rate has fallen to a 48-year low of 3.7% and hiring remains robust.”

The strong demand for American labor is pushing up wages and benefits, as well, fueling the longest economic expansion in U.S. history, Bartash adds.

Elizabeth Warren's Other Cherokee Scandal: Her Fight Against Tribal Sovereignty

 warren.jpg

Elizabeth Warren’s 2020 presidential aspirations may have ended before they began this week thanks to her team’s bizarre decision to proudly broadcast the results of a DNA test that shows she may have had a relative 10 generations removed that was of indigenous American heritage. As Senator Warren was once promoted as “Harvard Law School's...first woman of color,” the results seem to only confirm that she misrepresented her ancestry in her past career as a law professor.

Not only has the decision been met with a blistering condemnation from the Cherokee Nation, but it has once again made her the butt of President Trump’s jokes.

Via John

Knox County voters came out strong and, in some places, waited in long lines Wednesday that reminded Elections Administrator Cliff Rodgers of a presidential election.

It was the highest voting on the first day day of early voting in at least 10 years, which includes three presidential election cycles, and Knox County election officials believe it is a record first-day turnout.

WALTER WILLIAMS: The electoral college debate

Image result for The electoral college debate
Democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, seeking to represent New York's 14th Congressional District, has called for the abolition of the Electoral College. Her argument came on the heels of the Senate's confirming Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. She was lamenting the fact that Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Samuel Alito, nominated by George W. Bush, and Justices Neil Gorsuch and Kavanaugh, nominated by Donald Trump, were court appointments made by presidents who lost the popular vote but won the Electoral College vote.

Hillary Clinton has long been a critic of the Electoral College. Just recently, she wrote in The Atlantic, "You won't be surprised to hear that I passionately believe it's time to abolish the Electoral College."

Education As Civil War

Image result for public schools hitler salute

Civil war via “education” (mostly public education) was declared on the American public long, long ago, back in the 1830s, as a matter of fact.

You had a certain intelligentsia in this country (and other places) in the early years of the nineteenth century that had a vision for the united States that did not include that which was envisioned by those who came here to escape religious persecution or for a better life for their families, and, by extention, for their descendants. This intelligentsia was composed of “an artistic, social, or political vanguard or elite.” In other words, these were the people that were going to show and tell the rest of us how to live–whether we wanted what they had to offer or not.

100 ISIS Terrorists Caught in Guatemala as Central American Caravan Heads to U.S.

Via David

In a startling revelation, Guatemala’s president announced in the country’s largest newspaper that nearly 100 ISIS terrorists have been apprehended in the impoverished Central American nation. Why should Americans care about this? A caravan of Central American migrants is making its way north. Let’s not forget that Guatemala is one of the countries that bombarded the U.S. with illegal immigrant minors under Barack Obama’s open border free-for-all. They came in droves from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala through the Mexican border and for years Uncle Sam rolled out the welcome mat offering housing, food, medical treatment and a free education.

Via Greg

September 29 2018 - Information on the week prior to the day Jessica Chambers was killed is seen during the fifth day of the retrial of Quinton Tellis on Saturday. Tellis is charged with burning 19-year-old Jessica Chambers to death on Dec. 6, 2014. Tellis has pleaded not guilty to the murder.

The TV documentary series detailing the burning death of Jessica Chambers and the trials of suspect Quinton Tellis concludes Saturday with a look at the recent retrial.

"Unspeakable Crime: The Killing of Jessica Chambers" will air at 6 p.m. CDT on the Oxygen network.

Saturday's sixth installment was added to the five-part series to incorporate the second trial of Tellis after last October's first trial ended with a hung jury. The retrial, which concluded Oct. 1 in Batesville, resulted in a second mistrial. Jurors, from Oktibbeha County, were unable to reach a unanimous verdict following about 11 hours of deliberation.
