Trump To Repeal Major Obama Anti-Fracking Rule

Via Billy

Lawyers with the Department of Justice (DOJ) filed to change the federal government’s position on environmental regulations, which the Obama administration had legally defended against challenges from the oil and natural gas industry and several state governments.

“Trump is clearing out the political shenanigans from the Obama administration,” Christopher Guith, a vice president for energy at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, told The Daily Caller News Foundation. “Regulatory kudzo such as the EPA Methane Rule, the Clean Power Plan, the Waters of The United States, and the last minute monument designations are certainly being reviewed right now. The previous administration just threw everything they could at the wall to cater to their environmentalist base after Trump won the election.”

The Department of Homeland Security is requesting proposals from private contractors for designs on President Trump's promised "wall" on the southern border.

U.S. Customers and Border Protection on Friday posted two proposal requests on its website, one asking for a "solid concrete border wall" and another asking for an "other border wall."

"The wall design shall be physically imposing in height," reads the request for the concrete wall. "The Government's nominal concept is for a 30-foot high wall. Offerors should consider this height, but designs with heights of at least 18 feet may be acceptable. Designs with heights of less than 18 feet are not acceptable."

Mulvaney: ‘We Don’t Balance the Budget, But We Do Reprioritize Spending’

Via Billy

President Trump has just unveiled his "America First" budget plan, which comes with the title, "A Budget Blueprint to Make America Great Again."

The discretionary budget boosts spending on the military, homeland security, veterans, and school choice by cutting spending elsewhere – the EPA, HHS, the State Department and wasteful grant programs, to name a few.

Trump’s budget comes with a message to Congress, White House Budget Director Mick Mulvaney said early Thursday morning on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."
We’re sending a message to Congress, and the message is very, very clear. We want more money to defend the nation; more money to defend the border; more money to enforce the laws, and we want to do it without adding to the deficit this year.

We’re not balancing the budget here. All we did is take a dollar away from over here and reprioritize it over there.  But we don’t balance the budget, but we do reprioritize spending, and that’s the message to Congress.

So if they have a better way to defend the nation, to enforce the laws without adding to the deficit, we want to talk about it, but this is the president’s message.

"Well, No, But I Did Fly Over It Once" :)

Princeton economics professor emeritus and Nobel laureate Angus Deaton has been running around making an extraordinary claim: “Being really poor in America is in some ways worse than being really poor in India or Africa," he recently told the National Association for Business Economics.

Asked about those comments in an interview with the Atlantic, Deaton doubled down: "If you had to choose between living in a poor village in India and living in the Mississippi Delta or in a suburb of Milwaukee in a trailer park, I'm not sure who would have the better life."

This claim was qualified—Deaton is referring to those who live in extreme poverty. But The Scrapbook did once spend two months following around economists from the U.S. Agency for International Development in the slums of Asia, and we can say with near-scientific certitude that Deaton's claim is so idiotic it could only have been uttered by a Nobel Prize winner.

Donald Trump Protesters Reveal How Clueless They Truly Are! :)

Austen Fletcher (@fleccas) has done it again. He hit up an anti-Trump protest at Hollywood Boulevard Walk of Fame and spoke to some of the activists, and yeah. They’re more empty than I thought. Basically, they hate Donald Trump because he’s an “evil dictator.” (He’s evil because “he’s a capitalist,” in case you were wondering.) The jobs he’s creating? SCARY. Also, TOTAL ANIMAL LIBERATION. Trump’s also “the first president in like, 145 years to not have a dog companion,” which is concerning. And for the record, animal rights = human rights.

Trump: Andrew Jackson Fought to Defend Forgotten Men & Women from Arrogant Elite - Sound Familiar? :)

President Donald Trump said in his weekly address today that he went to Nashville, Tenn., this week to lay a wreath at the grave of President Andrew Jackson, who "fought to defend forgotten men and women from the arrogant elite of his day.

"Sound familiar?" asked Trump.

“This week I travelled to Nashville, Tennessee, to lay a wreath at the grave of Andrew Jackson on the 250th anniversary of his birth," said Trump, introducing his address.

Trump says Germany owes 'vast sums' to NATO

Via Billy
President Donald Trump says Germany owes "vast sums of money" to NATO and the U.S. "must be paid more" for providing defense.

In a tweet from his Florida resort, where he is spending the weekend, Trump wrote that he had a "GREAT" meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, despite reports to the contrary.

But he reiterated his stance that Germany needs to meet its end of the bargain if it is to continue benefiting from the military alliance.

Trump wrote, "Despite what you have heard from the FAKE NEWS, I had a GREAT meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel."

He added, "Nevertheless, Germany owes ... vast sums of money to NATO & the United States must be paid more for the powerful, and very expensive, defense it provides to Germany!"

Trump: ‘The Democrats Will Always Vote Against Us. The Hatred Has Been There for Years’

Via Billy

Asked if he is satisfied with the Republican bill to repeal and replace Obamacare, President Donald Trump said if he could get 60 votes in the Senate, things would be different – “but we will never get a Democrat vote.”

Trump told Fox News’s Tucker Carlson on Wednesday:
To get 52 people is very hard. If we had 60 votes, we could do something differently, but we’re never going to get a Democrat vote. If I had the greatest bill in the history of the world, they would not vote for us because they hate the Republicans, probably hate me, but they hate the Republicans so badly that they can’t see straight.

Trump on Elizabeth Warren: Pocahontas Would Not Be Proud of Her

Via Billy

Jesse Watters interviewed President Trump this week on Air Force One.

Jesse asked the president about different political figures including Senator Elizabeth Warren.

Trump’s response was epic.

President Trump: I think she’d lose so badly. I think she hurt, honestly. I think she hurt Hillary Clinton very badly. I watched those speeches, the anger the hatred in her heart.
And I said, you know, she’s really bad for Hillary. I watched those last couple weeks and she was getting up with that craziness and that anger. Pocahontas would not be proud of her as her representative. Believe me.

Rachel's Ratings: Maddcow's Viewership Plummets After Trump Tax Reveal

Via Billy

In case you missed it — MSNBC host Rachel Maddow talked up a big release on Trump taxes earlier this week.

The release ended up being a rather large titanic size flop.

The only information she actually ended up releasing was that Trump is a very successful tax-paying American businessman.

Things looked slightly better for Rachel earlier this week, as this big “tax” reveal led to a successful night of ratings.

Her ratings were not only a record for her show but they were also a record across cable television.
With over four million people watching her as she unveiled Donald Trump’s leaked tax figures from 2005.

However this didn’t last long as “The Rachel Maddow Show” saw its ratings plummet 36 percent the night after.

Tillerson: ‘I Spend My Time Working On This Airplane,’ Defends Not Bringing Press Corps

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson does not intend to have frequent bull sessions with press aboard his plane while in office, The Independent Journal Review reports.

The U.S. diplomatic press corps was deeply angered when the Department of State announced it did not intend on bringing any members of the press corps aboard the secretary’s aircraft. “The State Department Correspondents’ Association is disappointed that Secretary Tillerson chose to travel this week to North Asia without a full contingent of the diplomatic press corps or even a pool reporter,” the group said in a statement.

Tillerson defended his action, saying, “There’s this long tradition that the Secretary spends time on the plane with the press. I don’t know that I’ll do a lot of that. I’m just not … that’s not the way I tend to work. That’s not the way I tend to spend my time. I spend my time working on this airplane.”

30 Countries Are Refusing To Take Back Illegal Immigrants Convicted Of Serious Crimes

Via Billy

There are many foreign countries that refuse to retake illegal immigrants convicted of crimes, according to the congressman, including Vietnam, Cuba and China.
Approximately 30 countries are refusing to accept the deportations of illegal immigrants who have committed serious crimes in the U.S., according to Texas Rep. Henry Cuellar.

While these countries are refusing to accept the deportations of these criminals, the U.S. government is still issuing visas and student visas to citizens of those countries, according to the Texan congressman. There is already a law on the books which allows the U.S. to hold visas from a country that is not taking back its criminals, but according to Cuellar, the U.S. is not enforcing it.

“We’re not enforcing it, which is amazing. So now my intent is to go back to our committee on appropriations and affect their funding until they do that,” Cuellar told Sharyl Attkisson, host of Full Measure, in an interview.
