Glenn Beck - Just a few weeks ago, he asked the audience to consider donating to Mercury One, so they could begin to provide basic clothing and supplies to the droves of unaccompanied illegal immigrant children who have crossed the border... Glenn will be traveling with Mercury One to the border town of McAllen, Texas to start distributing some of the goods donations to the Mercury One Children and Family Border Relief Fund has yielded.

Glenn, you are doing a Cloward and Pivin on us. You're overwhelming us. If you want to feed, bathe, and cure every poor child in the world, do like Danny Kaye and become an ambassador for UNICEF... I don't like what you are doing or saying one bit. Jim Wallace would have been proud to have spoken your monologue.
Robert Starkand , comment at glennbeck.com
So Glenn and people who support him say well we've got to help the children, but we dont agree on amnesty. The problem is the progs take that and say "thank you very much" and that becomes the new benchmark, and the push starts to move the goalpost further left. Now every kid that shows up must be fed and clothed, and the prog argument begins that "well, if we cant let them starve here, how can we send them back to starve? Just let them stay but not be citizens."

Oh, I don't know Glenn. Think I will use my disposable income to pay my taxes and take care of my child. Thanks though.

Glenn, I used to watch you to learn. I'll never forget how you connected all the players (Jones, Jarrett, Ayers, etc) and the organizations they belonged to and what the organizations were responsible for. I loved learning from your blackboard. I don't get you any more.

I don't know what's up with glenn but he preaches isolation then he blames America for the issues in Central America then he wants us to donate to his origination... I don't know what's happend with beck but he's gone off the deep end on this one.

Remus says - DC is spending millions to house, feed, treat, clothe and entertain illegal aliens, and looking for $3.7 billion more. DC is reportedly paying up to $6,000 per month, tax free, for each illegal alien minor people take into their homes, and some of these "children" are tattooed MS-13 art-link-symbol-tiny-grey-arrow-only-rev01.gif art-link-symbol-tiny-grey-arrow-only-rev01.gif who can field strip an AK-47 faster than Spetznaz. Mr. Beck could make a contribution and save himself the trip. Make out the check to the SEIU, the lead contractor in DC's self-induced melodrama.

Loss - In Britain the effect of 19,000 men dying in one day—1 July 1916, the first day of the Somme—is beyond our computation today... that titanic sense of loss, over those first few days of July 1916, as telegrams arrived in homes all over Britain informing parents, wives and children of the fate of men who would never come back.

Selective facts - Some will ask why any of this matters, what purpose it serves to identify the Islamic faith of criminals other than to inspire hatred toward Muslims.  Well, why identify a perpetrator as a woman, mother, “youth,” or man?  We could just write, “Sentient biped disrupts the function of other sentient biped with forged implement.”... When the media steadfastly suppress the facts about crime—skewing people's grasp of reality with respect to it—there's a problem.  And when the media consistently exercise a double standard, twisting truth to demonize whites or Christians while calling those who speak the truth demons, we have to ask: where does the prejudice really lie? It lies with the liars.

Bye bye - Democrats are chucking aside black voters in their rush to lock in the Latino vote. Taken for granted as a given come election-time, blacks are now actively harmed as the Democrats vow to grow their voting base through importing more and more of what they see as future blue-voters. Camp security - When camped away from others, establish the illusion of more people in camp. One good way to do that is to put out extra chairs around the fire. Use a decoy tent in such situations. A larger tent might serve as food and gear storage, and another tent nearby, perhaps camouflaged, might be used for sleeping.

Press surveillance - Increasingly, the Obama White House has become so brittle, and so controlling of the message, that people are afraid to respond to me. Bush administration lawyers told me that they wanted to prosecute as many leaks then, but technology had not moved on to the point where it is today, where it is so easy to track peoples’ electronic footprint.
Kimberly Dozier, AP, via Justin Lynch at time.com

Holder's at it again - There's a certain level of vehemence, it seems to me, that's directed at me and directed at the president. You know, people talking about taking their country back. There's a certain racial component to this for some people. I don’t think this is the thing that is a main driver, but for some there's a racial animus. We've made lots of progress. I sit here as the first African-American attorney general, serving the first African-American president of the United States. And that has to show that we have made a great deal of progress. But there's still more we have to travel along this road so we get to the place that is consistent with our founding ideals. I think we are still a nation that is too afraid to confront racial issues, rarely engaging one another across the color line to talk about racial issues.
Attorney General Eric Holder, via Justin Sink at thehill.com
Remus says - Excuse us for thinking the Civil War, Emancipation, civil rights legislation, preferences and quotas, multi-generational welfare, a black President and Attorney General, a Black Congressional Caucas, the rewriting of history and mandatory classroom training in groveling is enough. When DC says "confronting racial issues" they mean one-way harangues and 'workshops' that end the way they always end—how much we're going to pay and why it isn't enough. Holder and his race-obsessed, perpetually offended homies have no clue how widely resented this stuff has become. It's over. Remus's advice is for Holder to keep the nation from actually "confronting racial issues" for as long as he can, take his winnings and go home to the only holdout monochromatic enclave in the country.

Forthrightness

 http://www.depinisyon.com/thesaurus/visual.php?word_id=forthrightness

A couple of generations ago forthrightness was expected, every day, in every thing. It was a measure of maturity. Nobody got away with mushmouth spin, everyone kept to the simple truth as they knew it or they got eased out of adult society and sat at the kid's table come Thanksgiving. We owe each other our true thoughts in a straightforward way. We don't have to be right but we do have to be honest. Absent that, we devolve into frillery and artifice.

This notion is mostly past tense now, as confirmed by political correctness—social anesthesia if you will. But there are those who carry on, convinced by experience that optimism is warranted only if you see things as they are, or close enough. They carry on not as a heroic mission mind you, it's just the way they are. We'll not name names here, they know who they are, it's a small club.

Will Mississippi Primary Unravel GOP? Time to Rediscover Our Principles

http://www.blogcdn.com/slideshows/images/slides/275/266/0/S2752660/slug/l/senate-incumbent-thad-cochran-faces-challenge-from-tea-party-backed-state-sen-chris-mcdaniel-1.jpg

Mike Scruggs

The ripple effect of questionable campaign tactics used by some of the Republican Establishment supporters of incumbent U.S. Senator Thad Cochran against his challenger, Republican State Senator Chris McDaniel, is beginning to look more like the early stages of a moral hurricane threatening GOP election hopes in 2014 and 2016.

Cochran’s record has been moderately conservative in the past. On the immigration issues, which voters are finally recognizing as having critical importance, his recent rating by NumbersUSA was 83 percent.  More recent inquiries, however, indicate that Cochran was weak on verifying immigration status for employment (E-Verify), internal immigration enforcement, eliminating birthright citizenship, assisting local law enforcement, defunding illegal immigration sanctuary cities, and possibly even amnesty and protecting U.S. workers from massive legislated cheap foreign labor importation.  He fully supports border enforcement, but border enforcement is ineffective without internal and workplace enforcement. McDaniel is more conservative on immigration. Cochran’s recent Heritage Foundation Action Scorecard was only 57 percent, below the Republican average of 67 percent. Cochran was weakest on reining in government spending, but like many otherwise fiscally conservative politicians, Cochran was happy to see his own state get a generous share of Federal spending. McDaniel is more conservative on spending. In consequence of his more conservative positions, especially on spending and immigration, McDaniel had widespread grassroots-conservative backing including the support of Mississippi Tea Parties.

Like South Carolina, Mississippi has no party registration. Registered voters participate in whatever primary they choose but are prohibited in voting in runoffs, if they voted in the other party’s initial primary. This has resulted in extensive opposing party manipulation of primary results.  In both South Carolina and Mississippi, it was Democratic oriented voters crossing over to influence the Republican Primary. In South Carolina, cross-over voting allowed, Lindsey Graham, one of the GOP’s most liberal U.S. Senators to beat three formidable conservative opponents. Graham got 56 percent of the vote, well over the required 50 percent in South Carolina. Only 113,000 voted in the Democratic Primary, down 75,000 from the 2010 primary. With immense help from pro-amnesty liberal PAC money, Graham also had $8.5 million to spend against four funded opponents, who did not have $2.0 million among them. They never raised Graham’s amnesty voting record against him. Even many conservative Republicans have been intimidated from raising critical immigration issues—a grim testimony to the effectiveness of media-backed cultural Marxist methods of enforcing political correctness in the United States. Following his primary victory, Graham raced to Mississippi to help Cochran, an indication that conservative concerns about Cochran’s leftward drift on immigration were not unwarranted.

A huge part of the national background on all this was a full-court press by powerful Republican Establishment leaders; including the Chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC), Reince Priebus; the Speaker of the House, John Boehner, the recently defeated Republican House Leader, Eric Cantor; and the four Republican members of the Senate Gang-of-Eight—John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Marco Rubio, and Jeff Flake--authors of a pending Senate amnesty bill, which the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) says will also bring in at least 20 million additional legal foreign workers over the next decade. The last four have been crying that there is a labor shortage, even though 20 million Americans want a full-time job and cannot find one. The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) also just released a report confirming that the entire net gain of 5.7 million in U.S. employment since 2000 went to immigrants. U.S. born workers suffered a net employment loss of 127,000 over the same period despite a 26 million, 14 per cent, growth in working-age population. In addition 7.5 million workers were reduced from full-time to part time.  At the heart of this issue, according to Harvard economist George Borjas, is that cheap foreign labor profits U.S businesses $435 billion per year, but does not benefit the U.S. economy, principally because it depresses U.S. wages $400 billion per year, nearly $2,800 annually per American wage earner.

The conduct of Cochran’s campaign staff and supporters may have reached a new low in Republican ethical standards. Literature was distributed saying that McDaniel’s Tea Party supporters wanted to stop blacks from voting. The British Daily Mail reported that one “commercial” or robo-call tried to connect McDaniel to an alleged supporter of the Ku Klux Klan. The narrative of this “commercial” included this sentence: “If the Tea Party with their racist ideas win, we will be set back to the ‘50s and ’60s.” The ad further warned that voting for McDaniel could mean losing food stamps, school lunches, and other government programs. Another robo-call voiced by a woman began: “The time has come to say no to the Tea Party, no to their disrespectful treatment of the first African-American President.”

Also according to the Daily Mail, the ads were tagged “paid for by Citizens for Progress,” which is not listed with the Federal Elections Commission. The name has been used before, however, by Atlanta Pastor Mitzi Bickers, who is on the payroll of Mississippi Conservatives a “Super-PAC” created by former Mississippi Governor and prominent amnesty/cheap labor lobbyist, Haley Barbour and run by his nephew, Henry Barbour. The largest donors to Mississippi Conservatives are liberals. Henry Barbour has admitted hiring Bickers to do robo-calls, but has denied running any racially charged commercials.  He was the author of the RNC’s misinformed  2013 report recommending amnesty. Allegations of cash vote buying have also surfaced.

Allegations of significant illegal primary voting have been made by McDaniel.

Run-off voting was up 40 percent in heavily black counties.

Senator Ted Cruz recently rebuked the “D. C. machine” for racially charged false attacks. Missouri GOP Chairman Ed Martin, an RNC member, has asked RNC Chairman Priebus to appoint an investigative task force on disreputable campaign conduct.

Hooray for Ted Cruz and Ed Martin.  Aren't Republicans supposed to be the good guys? Some, however, want to cover up GOP ethical transgressions, because they threaten the GOP target of 51 Republicans to control the Senate. The author of Proverbs 28: 13 would reject the cover up alternative. “Whoever covers his transgressions will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.”

Let’s be a party that honors truth and fairness to all and quickly remedies its transgressions.

which some are calling the “armed branch of the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization,” that runs the coastal enclave.

A major Egyptian television news commentator savaged Hamas on Sunday for its support of the Muslim Brotherhood, and called on her country to join Israel and strike the Islamist group.

“The Egyptian people know exactly who they are facing, and understand that there is no alternative to employing the Egyptian army to strike terror cells in Gaza and destroy Hamas in a military operation,” Hayah Al Dardiri, a presenter for Egypt Today told viewers.

Another pundit, Azza Sami, of the newspaper Al-Ahram wrote, “Thank you (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu and may God give us more [people] like you to destroy Hamas.”

And the critique of Hamas wasn’t only in the media.

America’s largest shotgun manufacturer, O.F. Mossberg & Sons, Inc., decided not to expand in Connecticut. Sure it was founded there 1919 and still has its corporate headquarters in North Haven. But in 2013 Connecticut rushed through legislation to ban some of Mossberg’s popular products. As a result, Mossberg CEO, Iver Mossberg, says, “Investing in Texas was an easy decision. It’s a state that is not only committed to economic growth but also honors and respects the Second Amendment and the firearm freedoms it guarantees for our customers.”

Appeals court rules in favor of Confederate flag license plate

The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled today that the Texas branch of the Sons of Confederate Veterans has the right to have the state issue license plates adorned with the Confederate battle flag.

In April last year, U.S. District Judge Sam Sparks ruled against the group, declaring that the state was allowed to pick and choose which messages and symbols appear on state-issued plates.

At issue in the Circuit Court was whether the state Department of Motor Vehicles Board had engaged in “viewpoint discrimination” and violated the group’s First Amendment right when it denied an application for a specialty plate.

The judges ruled that license plates are a form of “private speech,” and thus protected by the First Amendment. The court also ruled that the Board’s rejection of the plate “favored one speaker over another.”

Bergdahl could get $350G tax-free, if cleared by Army

Via avordvet

Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl could have a tax-free $350,000 dropped into his bank account if the current investigation into his disappearance from his base in Afghanistan was not desertion, and if he is deemed to have been a prisoner of war for the five years he was held by Islamic militants, Fox News has learned.

The 28-year-old soldier, for whom the U.S. traded five senior Taliban operatives held at Guantanamo Bay, was set to return to active duty Monday after spending six weeks in medical rehab at Fort Sam Houston, in San Antonio.

“Essentially he’ll be working a desk job,” Pentagon spokesman Col. Steve Warren told reporters at the Pentagon Monday.
"They’re pulling his clearance so I’m not sure what he’s supposed to do.”- Army official speaking under condition of anonymity

The Families of Two Dead Thugs Are “Crushed” That This Man Is Free

Concealed carrier Gabriel Mobley has been labeled the "black Zimmerman" for killing two men that attacked him outside a Chili's restaurant.

The Florida Supreme Court has refused to take up a prosecutor’s appeal of an appeals court decision that granted immunity to licensed concealed carrier Gabriel Mobley, meaning that Mobley’s six-year ordeal is finally over.  Murder charges were dismissed in an attack caught entirely on a Chili’s security camera.

A very biased account of the events carried in the Miami Herald and republished by the Florida Courier nonetheless gets the general account of incident correct:

SMALL LIFELESS, DEAD CHILDREN Found “Washed Up Along Riverbank” of Rio Grande

Via Cousin John

immigrants rio grande

A Fox News exclusive reported this morning by Jana Winter inexplicably buried the lede.

Winter reports that several dead children have been discovered “washed up along the riverbank” of the Rio Grande, but fails to note that there have been no reports by the Obama administration on this.

This indicates a pattern of covering up dead illegal alien kids by the Obama administration. It was two weeks before news was reported on the sole child death acknowledged by the Obama administration, Gilberto Ramos, a 15 year-old boy from Guatemala whose body was found in the Texas brush dead from the heat.

From Jana Winter’s report:

Illegal Immigration Protesters to Challenge Feds: 'If They Want to Send in SWAT Teams... Let Them Do It'

The federal government is planning to relocate 40 unaccompanied alien children into an already-packed facility in the Sycamore Canyon Academy that houses wards of the state, according to Robert Skiba of Oracle, Arizona.

Emboldened by citizens in Murrieta, California who successfully rebuffed the government’s efforts to dump illegal aliens into their town, Skiba's town has organized a protest for Tuesday morning.

“We’re going to mobilize and we're going to do the best we can to stop this from happening,” Skiba said. “We're prepared for whatever happens. If they want to send in the SWAT team, armored cars, helicopters, let them do it. We'll have the media out there.”

Utah man arrested for extinguishing a brush fire

The brush fire that Santaquin residents quickly extinguished, resulting in one arrest. (Source: Nick Miller)

A man was arrested for disorderly conduct and obstructing justice when he refused to stop spraying water on a brush fire that had ignited in a field behind his home.

The incident happened on July 4th in a field located behind a row of houses. At approximately 9:30 p.m., some brush caught fire due to errant use of fireworks. Spectators quickly assisted and one woman called 9-1-1 for help.

“An apparent spark lit a tree over there from an old orchard on fire,” said 36-year-old Santaquin resident, Jason Thornton. “Myself, my two nephews, and a few neighbors rushed to action, got our hoses out, contained the fire to one tree, waiting for the fire department to show up.”

Mr. Thornton continued: “While fighting the fire, somebody said, ‘stop!’ I told them, ‘no’ in a very unpolite way. He told me again to stop. I said, ‘No, I’m manning this fire. I’m not stopping until the fire department gets here.

Despite accusations of treason, Bowe Bergdahl to return to active duty with US Army today

Bergdahl with Haqqani

His comrades who have accused him of desertion and treason say they have not been contacted by Army officials. It seems unlikely that there will be a serious investigation at this point of whether Bergdahl deserted and sought out the Taliban, as several members of his unit have stated. The Obama Administration doesn’t seem interested in letting that story get a wide airing — for obvious reasons, since they traded five top jihad commanders for this man.

“Freed American POW Bowe Bergdahl to return to active duty with US Army TODAY, one month after his release,” by James Nye, David Mccormack and Lydia Warren, Daily Mail, July 14, 2014:

Cop shoots dog in a parked van, claims it was lunging, vicious pit bull

Via Nancy

"Arfie" was killed in a parked car. (Source: Craig Jones / KREM)

An officer shot and killed a dog that was waiting for its owner inside of a parked van. The officer later claimed it ‘lunged’ at him, but it was also revealed that he had his gun drawn the entire time.

The dog’s owner was Craig Jones, who was sitting inside a nearby restaurant eating breakfast at the time of the shooting. His black Labrador, ‘Arfie,’ was waiting inside his van, with a window half-opened for ventilation.

A Coeur D’Alene police officer approached the vehicle, apparently because someone called police to report it being a ‘suspicious’ white van that bore similarities to one related to a child-luring case. The unnamed officer went in with his gun already drawn, KREM 2 News reported.

Arfie sat in the van, anticipating his owner’s return. The officer claims that Arfie then “lunged” at him, and he shot the dog in the chest. Arfie died.

A photograph of the scene showed that the bullet had actually traveled through glass to reach the dog.
