Report: O'Reilly And Hannity Have Talked About Teaming Up At Sinclair Broadcasting

O’Reilly’s departure from Fox News surprised a lot of people.

It just doesn’t seem right tuning into Fox News in the evenings and not seeing the king of cable news do his thing.

The turmoil over at Fox has cost several people their jobs and fixtures like O’Reilly, Greta, and Megyn Kelly are now distant memories.

The shakeup might not be over either. A lot of people out there seem to think that Hannity could be on his way out soon.

Map of the world by Ottoman admiral Piri Reis, drawn in 1513

On a chilly winter day in 1929, Halil Edhem, the Director of Turkey's National Museum, was hunched over his solitary task of classifying documents.  He pulled towards him a map drawn on Roe deer skin. As Halil opened the chart to its full dimensions (two feet by three feet wide or 60 X 90 cm) he was surprised by how much of the New World was depicted on a map which dated from 1513.

The document was the legacy of a pirate turned Turkish Admiral, Piri Reis (circa 1470-1554). He was born in Gallipoli, a naval base on the Marmara Sea and was the nephew of Kemal Reis, a pirate who had reinvented himself as a Turkish Admiral adventurer who had made his name in naval warfare. At the time, the distinction between pirate and Admiral was more flexible than might be expected from looking back through a Hollywood lens.

Mark Levin's top selling book diss-moted by New York Times

Via Billy

Media mogul Mark R. Levin's new conservative book, Rediscovering Americanism, has swamped the competition, selling over 100,000 copies in three weeks, but its deserved No. 1 ranking in the New York Times best-seller list is over.

Despite leading all nonfiction hardcovers in sales for three weeks, the upcoming Times rankings will have the book at No. 2 in their secretive process. That list is for the issue of July 30. A copy is shown below.

"The New York Times obviously hates" the book, said the top-rated conservative talk show host on the "Mark Levin Show" this week.

A wild fight between a Fresno Starbucks customer and a knife-wielding robber was caught on surveillance video, showing how a 58-year-old man who police Chief Jerry Dyer called a “courageous hero” put his own life at risk to thwart the crime.

Both hero Cregg Jerri, 58, and suspect Ryan Michael Florez, 30, were stabbed during the fight Thursday that lasted for about a minute. Florez got away and later tried to tell police he was himself a victim of a robbery.

Mueller found the man (Trump), now he’ll find the crime

Via David

If Bloomberg News report is accurate as to expanded probe of Trump, then we’re heading into Soviet territory.

The NY Times has published excerpts of its interview yesterday with Donald Trump.

While there were several newsworthy comments, most focus is on the criticism of Jeff Sessions recusing himself from the investigation and the resulting appointment of Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Sessions’ recusal is the most consequential event of the Trump presidency so far, because it resulted in what appears to be a wide-ranging investigation into Trump.

As posted earlier, the Mueller team appears to be larger in size than would be needed for an investigation into Russian meddling in the election, something I pointed out in Mueller legal team approaching size of entire US Attorney’s Office for Rhode Island.

That team and its staffing suggest that Trump would be at risk even if there was no underlying crime, Trump at risk from Comey/Mueller: If “they don’t get you on the crime, they get you on the process”.

In a Sunday morning interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, newly-minted White House Communications Director, Anthony Scaramucci, continued to lay out his plans to strengthen the administration’s messaging.
Scaramucci touched on the difficulties of being flexible and changing one’s mind in D.C., while issuing a stern warning to his staff – “[I]f we don’t stop the leaks, I’m going to stop you. It’s really that simple.”

GOP consultant: Kid Rock would be 'prohibitive favorite' if he enters Michigan Senate race

The report drew parallels between Kid Rock and then-candidate Donald Trump, who was also underestimated when he first threw his name into the presidential race.

A Republican consultant says singer Kid Rock would be “prohibitive favorite” if he enters the Michigan Senate race.

“I think there’s no question about that. I think he’s the prohibitive favorite if he gets in,” Dennis Lennox, a Michigan-based Republican political consultant, told Politico.

The musician, whose real name is Robert Ritchie, just needs to steer clear of getting caught up in any serious scandals, Lennox said.

“Presuming Kid Rock doesn’t get caught in bed with a little boy, or beat up a woman between now and August 2018, he’s going to win the nomination if he gets in,” Lennox predicted.

Sam Davis Youth Camp 2011 To The Tune of General Lee's Grand March

 Sam Davis Youth Camp 2013

*****************************

Campers learn valuable lesson in liberty & the First Amendment.

This past Wednesday the Sam Davis Camp took its field trip to Waco - for the past 4 years we have always dropped the 25 X 40 foot battle flag from the old 1870 Waco Suspension Bridge and save for horn blowing and high fives have not aroused any interest.

Not this year. We dropped the flag over the bridge so our boat tour campers could see it as they passed under the bridge. After furling it we noticed a Waco Park Ranger poking around and figured out someone had told him about our flagging.

No flag in sight so he soon left. After he left we decided to drop the flag over the bridge & see if he returned. We did & he did! He walked up to our kids & politely demanded that they furl the flag "can't display a flag without a permit" he said- I walked up and told him we had a permit - called the First amendment.

"sir he said you can't fly the American flag without a permit here." I said I doubted that - and told him our flagging was planned to be over shortly with or without a permit.

Another 5 minutes and we brought the flag up and folded it only to be confronted by an offended snowflake who accused us of racism & "shouting" at the community. We argued politely he threw us an FBomb and left. Some of us then started the walk to our next venue the old Fort House on 5th & Webster.

As we left our photographer noticed the snowflake using his phone. As we walked up Franklin Street we noticed 3-4 cop cars with sirens blowing approaching us. I joked: "Hide everyone - they are after us as flag mobbers!"

They were - they stopped at the Suspension bridge looking for us - snowflake had called in on us. Of course us flag criminals had flown the coop. Best lesson in liberty and what really confronts us ever taught at the Sam Davis Camp.
