Steady Hand at the Wheel

Thomas Johnson was born in Calvert County, Maryland, on his father’s lands near the mouth of St. Leonard’s Creek. He was the son of Thomas and Dorcas Sedgwick Johnson and the grandson of Thomas Johnson, barrister, who was the first of the line to reside in Maryland, having fled there after running away with a chancery ward. All of these Johnsons were descendants of Sir James Johnson of Yarmouth, Norfolk-shire, a favorite of Queen Anne. Governor Thomas Johnson was educated at home and in the Annapolis law chambers of Stephen Bordley. Though his father was a cautious man (a member of the Provincial Assembly, 1725-1732) and his Johnson ancestors enemies of Cromwell, young Thomas was a strong Whig from the beginning of his political career, being first elected to the Assembly from Anne Arundel County in 1762. He was opposed to privileges for placemen, the Fee Bill, the Stamp Act and the Tea Act from the time they were first mentioned, despite the favor that he might have won through greater docility.

RUMOR: The FBI Whistleblower Raid Was a Setup of Mueller

Coercing Cohen with Gestapo tactics will be Mueller’s undoing. As we’ve learned with Jerome Corsi, not everyone fears Mueller.

When I heard of the FBI raid of whistleblower of The Clinton Foundation, I wondered what this raid could possibly be about.

I wrote this of the raid,

But the conspiracy is far worse, and will ultimately end up on the desk of Obama.

“The bureau raided my client to seize what he legally gave Congress about the Clinton Foundation and Uranium One,” the whistleblower’s lawyer, Michael Socarras, told TheDCNF, noting that he considered the FBI’s raid to be an “outrageous disregard” of whistleblower protections.

Carlson Flips

Tucker was asked if Trump has accomplished anything.
Not much. Not much. Much less than he should have. I’ve come to believe he’s not capable of it.
Hasn't accomplished much? Must have smoked a joint before the interview.

Carlson later appeared to suggest that socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the future.

Judicial Activism

 Judicial Activism

President Trump and Chief Justice Roberts have recently had a much publicized feud about judicial activism by judges in the Federal Court System and the Supreme Court.  It is the opinion of Chief Justice Roberts that the Federal Court System including SCOTUS is apolitical and that decisions are based on constitutional law and not on the political beliefs and agenda of the judges.

After viewing the senate confirmation process for Supreme Court justices in recent years, it is very difficult to agree with Roberts

Shapiro At 'Newsweek': In The Real World, Socialist Populism Causes Riots

 Paris Macron riots
But the French riots weren’t only about taxes. They were about government fulfillment of a bevy of other over-the-top demands from the protesters: They want higher taxes on the wealthy, an increase in the minimum wage, a maximum wage, rent controls, increases in spending on infrastructure and retirement, and a full-out ban on outsourcing. This is the same basket of services promised by populist politicians across the world. And those promises are empty.

This week, riots overwhelmed authorities in Paris, with so-called yellow vest protesters attacking police officers, setting cars on fire, and spray-painting graffiti on historic sites, including the Arc de Triomphe. What prompted this spasm of rage? Reportedly, high gas prices driven by exorbitant taxes placed on both unleaded and diesel fuel—taxes in France already surpass 64 percent on unleaded and 59 percent on diesel.

REPORT: Trump, Aides 'Seriously Considering' Replacing Mike Pence On 2020 Ticket

U.S. Vice President Mike Pence takes a phone call on Capitol Hill following a mock swear-in ceremony for U.S. Sen. John Kyl (R-AZ) on September 5, 2018 in Washington, DC.

A new report from Vanity Fair suggests that President Donald Trump and his close aides have "discussed" replacing Vice President Mike Pence on the ballot in 2020 for the president's re-election campaign.

And the top choice for a replacement? Well, perhaps ... Nikki Haley?

Cowardice at Parkland Shooting: “Security” Recognized Shooter, Rifle Case

Via Billy

The murderer was carrying a black rifle case, not a duffle bag.

Evidence of more incompetence and cowardice has been exposed from the Parkland school shooting. Seventeen students and staff were murdered on February 14, 2018, at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas School.  I will not name the murderer.

You have probably read and remember the armed school resource officer, Deputy Scot Petterson, failed to confront the killer immediately. He did not run to the sound of the gunfire. Instead, he waited outside the school for others to come. Eventually, there were seven or eight deputies outside the school waiting. Officers from another jurisdiction showed up and immediately entered, but it was too late. All the killing was complete. The murderer had fled the scene.

I’m a little worried”, she confessed, ”but I think those running France into the ground, at this moment they are more worried.”

The head of a French police union has expressed fears that this weekend’s anti-government protests could see the deaths of both protestors and law enforcement on the streets of Paris.
Exhausted and over-stretched units struggling to maintain order will be compelled to defend themselves from rioters and looters, Yves Lefebvre told BFMTV earlier this week, raising the possibility of lives being lost if police are forced to act in ”a state of legitimate self defense.”
