Mike McNulty, Waco Hero, R.I.P.

One of the heroes of the Waco fights of the 1990s has passed away.  Mike McNulty did more than any other single person to doggedly pursue the truth about Waco.  And he produced or co-produced a number of superb films that vividly and compelling explained why the feds were lying about the carnage they unleashed in Texas.  And he fed great information to me and other journalists – as well as sometimes impatiently pushing us forward, urging us to turn over more rocks. (I think my sense of humor puzzled or irked him at times during our phone calls, but I came out on the right side of the issue, so he usually tolerated me pretty well.)  Mike was never cowed by official bullshit or by the strutting and intimidation attempts by lawmen or political appointee poohbahs.  Mike helped Janet Reno get the legacy she deserved.

I quoted Mike at length on an article on the Waco coverup that came out in the Washington Times on the morning of the Oklahoma City bombing, April 19, 1995:

Gun Geo Marker

Needless to say, this is 100% anti-gun, no matter their blather, for instance:
"It is important to note that the project is an adamantly pro-second amendment gesture, in that it assumes that the more responsible gun use and ownership is, the more likely it is that the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution will not only be respected, but maybe even be enjoyed by more people."

As much as we liberty-loving, Constitution-loving, America-loving patriots hate to admit it, the government in Washington, D.C., is NOT fixable. The elitist power structure in D.C. is too ensconced and too powerful. They will never cede power to folks, such as Justin Amash, Thomas Massie, etc., who truly believe in limited government. Nor will they permit the states to reclaim ANY of their constitutionally recognized powers. And neither party in D.C. has enough Ron Paul-types to thwart the evil machinations of the power-drunk leviathan that is Washington, D.C.

Furthermore, the same forces of darkness that control the political establishment in Washington, D.C., also control the media and financial establishments in New York City. The voters of America have too often rejected the presidential and congressional candidates who had the potential to help lead our ship of state to safer waters (if we even have untainted elections). The warnings of the prophets and porters have fallen on deaf ears. For the most part, Americans refuse to dislodge themselves from their addiction to government handouts. In addition, America’s pastors have largely abandoned their calling to be watchmen on the wall, which has left our ship of state without a moral compass or a spiritual rudder.

NC: Lincoln’s Real Motive

 http://blogs.lib.unc.edu/civilwar/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/18610520_01.jpg

Lincoln’s belief that the American South after solemn conventions of its States remained part of his government was a fiction to which he clung throughout the war, surpassed only by his belief that ten percent of the voters of a State can determine its legal and constitutional government. He refused to believe that his own authority as president was limited, and the supremacy of his political party over country motivated him.

Bernhard Thuersam, www.Circa1865.com

Lincoln’s Real Motive

“From Mr. [Robert] Toombs, Secretary of State, Message No. 5, Department of State, Montgomery, Alabama, May 18, 1861.

To: Hon Wm. L. Yancey, Hon. Pierre A. Rost, Hon. A. Dudley Mann, Commissioners of the Confederate States, etc.

Gentlemen: My dispatch of the 24th ultimo contained an accurate summary of the important events which had transpired up to that date, and informed you that the Executive of the United States had commenced a war of aggression against the Confederate States.

On the 20th instant the convention of the people of North Carolina will assemble at Raleigh, and there is no doubt that, immediately thereafter, ordinances of secession from the United States, and union with the Confederate States, will be adopted.

Although ten independent and sovereign States have thus deliberately severed the bonds which bound them in political union with the United States, and have formed a separate and independent Government for themselves, the President of the United States affects to consider that the Federal Union is still legally and constitutionally unbroken . . . He claims to be our ruler, and insists that he has the right to enforce our obedience.

From the newspaper press, the rostrum, and the pulpit, the partisans of Mr. Lincoln, while they clamorously assert their devotion to the Union and Constitution of the United States, daily preach a relentless war between the sections, to be prosecuted not only in violation of all constitutional authority, but in disregard of the simplest law of humanity.

The authorized exponents of the sentiments of [Lincoln’s party] . . . avow that it is the purpose of the war to subjugate the Confederate States, spoliate the property of our citizens, sack and burn our cities and villages, and exterminate our citizens . . .

[The] real motive which actuates Mr. Lincoln and those who now sustain his acts is to accomplish by force of arms that which the masses of the Northern people have long sought to effect – namely, the overthrow of our domestic institutions, the devastation and destruction of our social interests, and the reduction of the Southern States to the condition of subject provinces.

It is not astonishing that a people educated in that school which always taught the maintenance of the rights of the few against the might of the many, which ceaselessly regarded the stipulation to protect and preserve the liberties and vested rights of every member of the Confederacy as the condition precedent upon which each State delegated certain powers necessary for self-protection to the General Government, should refuse to submit dishonorably to the destruction of their constitutional liberty, the insolent denial of their right to govern themselves and to hold and enjoy their property in peace.

In the exercise of that greatest of the rights reserved to the several States by the late Federal Constitution – namely, the right for each State to be judge for itself, as well of the infractions of the compact of the Union, as of the mode and measure of redress – the sovereignties composing the Confederate States resolved to sever their political connection with the United States and form a Government of their own, willing to effect this purpose peacefully at any sacrifice save that of honor and liberty, but determined even at the cost of war to assert their right to independence and self-government.”

The Teutoburg Forest Massacre: The Climactic Finish

Part 5 of 5

Mike Scruggs

On the morning of September 11, Lucius Eggius led the first of two 4,000-man battle groups out of the Roman camp to the northwest. He would soon be followed by the second battle group commanded by Caeonius. The circumstances demanded that their seriously wounded comrades be left to their fate within the camp palisade.

In a short while, it became obvious to Eggius that their only plausible escape route was a narrow passage between Kalkriese Hill on their left and impassable marshes on the right, with less than 100 yards between the two. Further narrowing the passage, the Germans had constructed 500 yards of earthen ramparts, 15 feet wide and 5 feet high, on the lower slopes of Kalkriese Hill. The ramparts were topped with a palisade of posts and twisted tree limbs giving the German defenders protection up to chest level. These ramparts had many hidden gates camouflaged with brushwood.  From these gates, the Germans could launch surprise cavalry and infantry attacks, throwing the Romans into confusion. The German chieftain Arminius had obviously been an attentive student of Roman warfare and defense works.

Eggius quickly realized that marching his troops past a bottleneck hail of German lances, spears, rocks, and arrows with limited ability to engage the enemy on favorable terms was going to be both deadly and futile.  Eggius thus concentrated as many of his troops as possible and ordered an assault on a section of the rampart. Holding their shields above their heads in a “tortoise assault” formation, the Romans bravely engaged the Germans standing above them on palisaded ramparts.

About this time, Caeonius and the second Roman battle group, left the safety of the Roman camp and began to catch up with Eggius. When their rear guard was several hundred yards from the camp, they were suddenly assaulted by a formidable Bructeri infantry force surging from the forest on their left flank. No sooner had they positioned to defend against this furious, howling charge on their left, than a larger cavalry and infantry force assaulted their right flank, probably led by Arminius himself.

Many of the German cavalrymen were wearing Roman equipment. The second Roman battle group was quickly broken up and routed. Most were slaughtered in the confusing melee, but many fled into the rear of Eggius’s battle group, causing them confusion. A few hundred, including Caeonius, were able to make it back to the safety of the palisade protected Roman camp.

Meanwhile, the Roman “tortoise assault,” keeping their shields over their heads to produce a huge protective roof of shields that denied the Germans complete tactical domination because of the height of the ramparts and palisades, was having at least some success. Their shield-roof could also be used as a shield-ramp to place men and tools in a position to destroy or breach palisade defenses.  Several places on the ramparts and palisades had collapsed or were temporarily breached. When reports came forward that the second battle group had been almost totally destroyed, Eggius probably realized that Arminius would soon be in a position to attack his rear or block his retreat.

Moreover, the Germans then released cavalry and infantry assaults from the camouflaged gates of their ramparts, soon resulting in Roman confusion and disorder. Eggius was killed, and the courageous Roman “tortoise assault’ on the ramparts faltered and then failed. The Germans continued to use surprise attacks from hidden rampart gates to break up Roman units and destroy them in detail. In the end, pure numbers and Germanic fury overwhelmed the desperate and outmaneuvered Romans, who fought bravely to the last man. Only a small Roman cavalry vanguard was able to slip past the berserk fury of the last group Agrivarii warriors.

Having completed the destruction of the last Roman resistance beneath Kalkriese Hill, Arminius and an intimidating force arrived at the gate of the Roman camp, now called Felsenfeld. He sent a small group forward to offer safe conduct for Caeonius to speak with him. Arminius had only one question.  “Where is Varus?” Caeonius led him into the camp and showed him a grave, where the partially burned body of Varus was buried. At Arminius’s signal, the Germans secured the gate, overran the camp, and killed Caeonius and his remaining soldiers. The Germans dragged Varus’s half-burned body out of the shallow grave and severed his head. Varus’s head was carefully packed and sent to Maroboduus, Arminius’s chief Germanic rival and leader of the formidable Marcomanni tribal coalition. Maroboduus refused to be intimidated and sent the carefully packed head to Rome.

A number of other tribes joined Arminius in his rebellion against Rome, but in 14 AD Tiberius became emperor, succeeding Augustus. In 15 AD, Tiberius sent the young Roman General Germanicus to Germania to settle some scores, punishing the Cherusci, the Bructeri, the Marsi, and the Angrivarii for their support of Arminius. Germanicus’s legions also found the skeletons of many Roman soldiers in Teutoburg Forest.

His soldiers interred their remains with great care in several burial mounds, giving great honor and respect to their former comrades in arms. Germanicus was able to recover two of the three sacred Legion Eagles, symbolically equivalent to battle flags. The third was recovered in 41 AD. Germanicus defeated Arminius in several battles, but was never able to overcome him. In 16 AD, he captured Arminius’s pregnant 26-year-old wife, Thusnelda, and took her to Rome as a hostage. She was treated well there, but Arminius never saw her again. Arminius was murdered in 21 AD (age 40) by political rivals claiming he was growing too powerful. His only son, Thumelicus, whom he never saw, became a Roman gladiator and died young.

Probably, at least 4,000 men of Varus’s legions survived Teutoburg. That would include approximately 3,000 German auxiliaries and other legion soldiers whose cultural and family loyalties could not be bought with Roman money or Roman citizenship, especially in light of Varus’s terrible misunderstanding of and disregard for Germanic culture. Perhaps another thousand who went ahead with 19th Legion Prefect Lucius Caedicius to Aliso survived. The Germans also enslaved some military prisoners.

After 16 AD, the Romans never again tried to occupy Germanic territory east of the Rhine. Tiberius did not consider ruling Germany worth the cost in Roman wealth and Roman soldiers.

Although clearly superior in military power, the Romans had become thoroughly intimidated by the Germanic reputation for terrible and unrelenting fury gained by their near complete annihilation of three Roman legions at Teutoburg.

The attorney, Larry Klayman of Freedom Watch, stated to the judge in the filing:
“Several reports indicate that the executive branch under the Obama administration has not complied with this court’s temporary injunction, but continues full-speed to implement a grant of amnesty and related benefits to approximately 5 million citizens of foreign countries who are illegally in the United States under the defendants’ November 20, 2014, executive action programs implemented by several memoranda issued by Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson.”

Eric Holder’s Parting Advice to America: ‘Read Malcolm X’

 Eric Holder, Malcolm X

President Obama’s outgoing Attorney General Eric Holder made an eyebrow-raising book recommendation in his exit interview with Politico on Friday.

Asked by Politico’s Mike Allen to name the one book Holder would recommend for a young man coming to Washington to read, Holder recommended the work of controversial civil rights figure Malcolm X.

“I would hope that I say this not to every African-American of his age but for every American, that you read The Autobiography of Malcolm X to see the transition that that man went through, from petty criminal to a person who was severely and negatively afflicted by race, to somebody who ultimately saw the humanity in all of us, and that would be a book I would recommend to everybody,” said Holder.

How convenient.

The Department of Justice announced earlier this week that they lacked any evidence to charge George Zimmerman with federal civil rights crimes for the self-defense shooting of Trayvon Martin, a fact completely unsurprising to those who have researched the tri-racial Zimmerman’s background and his diverse group of family and friends.

The inability to charge Zimmerman with crimes he didn’t commit seems to be infuriating to President Obama, and to out-going Attorney General Eric Holder:

Then the men and women on Law Enforcement and other government types should be shitting their pants.

Some federal and local law enforcement groups view the domestic terror threat from
sovereign citizen groups as equal to -- and in some cases greater than -- the threat from
foreign Islamic terror groups, such as ISIS, that garner more public attention.

Seems to me to be a whole bunch of nothing.....right now. These folks aren't a danger....yet. Not unless you try to take their country from them. Steal too many of their freedoms? Yeah, then you can worry.  They won't be a danger to their fellow citizens, but to the government that tries to steal their freedoms?Your fear of right wing people is, at best, overblown..... For now. You really have nothing to worry about.

Here's the thing, Boys and Girls: If this were true, and the "Right Wing Extremists" were really a danger, then you folks had better get your worldly affairs in order....'Cause when they decide it is time (and I know and interact with a fair number of those folks you label "Right Wing Extremists") then they are gonna come, and for you, they are gonna bring screaming bloody hell with 'em.....

Defense Intelligence Told NOT To Update Obama on bin Laden Documents & Obama’s Failure

Col. Derek Harvey (Ret.)

The documents SEAL Team Six confiscated the night they killed Osama bin Laden, in his Abbottabad compound, were deep-sixed by the Obama administration. Not interested, al-Qaeda’s decimated, the war’s over.

Bin Laden Compound, Abbottabad, Pakistan
The U.S. government captured more than one million documents during the May 2011 raid that killed Osama bin Laden. Top administration officials initially described it as “a treasure trove” of intelligence on al Qaeda and its affiliates. But more than three years later, the senior DIA official who ran the project, Colonel Derek Harvey, says the intelligence community has fully analyzed less than 10 percent of the collection. Top DIA officials were told directly to stop providing analyses based on the bin Laden documents. The administration had decided to end the war on terror, and no amount of new intelligence about threats from al Qaeda was going to change their minds. So they chose ignorance.
The quote above is a part of an in-depth look into Obama’s failures. Read it here. Read about Derek Harvey below.

Obama’s Failure

Barack Obama wants us all to simmer down about Iran. He wants Senator Bob Menendez, a fellow Democrat, and the donors he represents to butt out of the sanctions debate. He wants Republicans to quit crying wolf about Iran’s nuclear weapons program. He wants the media to stop hyping terror threats. He wants the American people in the dark about the secret correspondence he’s had for years with Iran’s supreme leader. He wants John Boehner to be mindful of protocol. And most of all, he wants Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu to stop questioning his accommodationist approach to Tehran.

Homosexuality in The Bible

Homosexuality was first mentioned in the Bible in 1946 in the Revised Standard Version. There is no mention of or reference to homosexuality in any Bible prior to this – only interpretations have been made. Anti-LGBT Bible interpretations commonly cite only eight verses in the Bible that they interpret to mean homosexuality is a sin; Eight verses in a book of thousands!

The Queen James Bible seeks to resolve interpretive ambiguity in the Bible as it pertains to homosexuality: We edited those eight verses in a way that makes homophobic interpretations impossible.

That makes sense. Asset allocation accounts for about ~80% of any big financial fund's performance and BlackRock's extraordinary success implies that Larry has been getting it right for decades.

A Sympathy for Disunion

Via SHNV

 John Taylor

Two years later, in May of 1794, with the country recognizing Washington’s leadership would soon be gone and Jefferson in the midst of forming a political party compatible with Democratic Republican principles, Senators Rufus King of New York and Oliver Ellsworth of Connecticut approached John Taylor of Virginia. Possibly because Taylor had refused to sign onto the Constitution and was now resigning his seat in the Senate, King and Ellsworth asked if he would help broker a split of the young Republic along sectional grounds.

Their reasons were clearly stated: North and South would never agree on the direction of the central government and “… a dissolution of the union by mutual consent, was preferable to a certainty of the same thing, in a less desirable mode”. Taylor declined and sent a letter to Madison of the inner turmoil in the northern Senators.

“This, Mr. President, is not a government founded upon compact; it is founded upon the power of the people. They express in their name and their authority, “We the People do ordain and establish,” etc, from their ratification alone it is to take its constitutional authenticity; without that it is no more than tabula rasa.

“I know very well all the commonplace rant of State sovereignties, and that government is founded in original compact. If that position was examined, it will be found not to accede very well with the true principle of free government.” James Wilson, 11 Dec 1787, Pennsylvania Ratifying Convention
“I am sure they were fully impressed with the necessity of forming a great consolidated government, instead of a confederation. That this is a consolidated government is demonstrably clear.”

Carter made the comments at a town-hall event in Kandahar, Afghanistan, in response to a question from Navy Lt. Cmdr. Jesse M. Ehrenfeld, a doctor, about transgender soldiers serving in an “austere environment” like the one in Kandahar.
We have to admit one thing.  This makes “women in combat” look pretty tame.
” (W)e want to make our conditions and experience of service as attractive as possible to our best people in our country. And I’m very open-minded about — otherwise about what their personal lives and proclivities are, provided they can do what we need them to do for us. That’s the important criteria,” Carter said. “I don’t think anything but their suitability for service should preclude them.”
Yeah right.  In order to get more women into combat arms billets the military has been forced to reduce the physical requirements for them.

What exactly makes the South, the South? Hosts of scholars have puzzled mightily over this one.

Historians might point to the old Confederacy, human geographers might look for the proliferation of Southern Baptist Churches, as well as clusters and distributions of BBQ joints and firearms ownership, while linguists ponder over the prevalence of “y’all” and other Southern speech patterns.

The Academy is a nervous, for you see, the South seems to be slowly disappearing. This means coming up with new villains, and perhaps even more hysterical fulminations on how slavery in the southern United States is the root of all evil: past, present, and future. Yes there is grant money and tenure at stake here too, though one might justly believe that the South was studied and analyzed into an early grave. But really the South, however ill-defined, does seem to be disappearing.

Let’s have the evidence you say? Well, here goes.

Why Would MO Auditor & Gubernatorial Candidate Tom Schweich Kill Himself Right After Inviting Reporters to His Home?

 tomschweich

It’s all over the news today that Republican Missouri Auditor Tom Schweich, a man who had just announced he planned to run for governor last month and who had just invited reporters to his home yesterday afternoon, was shot and killed yesterday morning at his house in an “apparent suicide.”

Police have declined to comment on whether or not there was a note, what type of weapon was used, or where the wound landed at this time.

It’s odd timing considering not only his recent announcement that he would run for Missouri governor, but Schweich had scheduled interviews later that same day at his home with both The Associated Press and St. Louis Post-Dispatch to break a story.

In fact, Schweich had just called St. Louis Post-Dispatch reporter Tony Messenger seven minutes before the 9-1-1 call went out from his house that he was shot.

What was he going to talk to Messenger about? According to the journalist, it had to do with a smear campaign against him within his own political party:

The United States Army is accused of spying on one of its own war heroes.

The Daily Beast reported that Will Swenson, a Medal of Honor recipient, came under investigation by the Army simply because he was referenced in a paragraph-long comment on Amazon.

The comment appeared in 2011 by Army Maj. Mathew Golsteyn about The Wrong War by former Pentagon official Bing West. In his comment, Golsteyn thanked Swenson. Golsteyn was a decorated Green Beret who was investigated over allegations of violating military protocol in the death of a Taliban bomb-maker in 2010. He was subsequently forced out of the Special Forces and lost his Silver Star award, even though charges were not brought up against him.

One of the worst days of Douglas Dendinger's life began with him handing an envelope to a police officer.

In order to help out his family and earn a quick $50, Dendinger agreed to act as a process server, giving a brutality lawsuit filed by his nephew to Chad Cassard as the former Bogalusa police officer exited the Washington Parish Courthouse.

The handoff went smoothly, but Dendinger said the reaction from Cassard, and a group of officers and attorneys clustered around him, turned his life upside down.

"It was like sticking a stick in a bee's nest." Dendinger, 47, recalled. "They started cursing me. They threw the summons at me. Right at my face, but it fell short. Vulgarities. I just didn't know what to think. I was a little shocked."

Not knowing what to make of the blow-up, a puzzled Dendinger drove home. That's where things went from bad to worse.

How Many Constitutional Freedoms Have We Lost?

This post explains the liberties guaranteed in the Bill of Rights – the first 10 amendments to the United States Constitution – and provides a scorecard on the extent of the loss of each right. (This is an updated version of an essay we wrote in February. Unfortunately, a lot of information has come out since then.)

First Amendment

The 1st Amendment protects speech, religion, assembly and the press:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
The Supreme Court has also interpreted the First Amendment as protecting freedom of association.
However, the government is arresting those speaking out … and violently crushing peaceful assemblies which attempt to petition the government for redress.

House Speaker John Boehner of Ohio leaves the House chamber on Capitol Hill in Washington, Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, after the House voted to go to conference committee on a long-term "clean" spending bill for the Homeland Security Department hours before a shutdown was to begin. (AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite)

Conservatives rebelled in the House Friday afternoon, joining Democrats to defeat a bill to keep the Homeland Security Department open past a midnight shutdown deadline and leaving funding in doubt as all sides continued to fight over President Obama’s deportation amnesty.

House GOP leaders had hoped to earn a three-week grace period, trying to pass a bill to continue current funding through March 19, but Democrats insisted they would only accept a full bill that didn’t interfere with Mr. Obama’s amnesty, while conservative Republicans felt they were being set up for failure by their own leaders.

The short-term bill was defeated on a 224-203 vote, sending House Speaker John A. Boehner and fellow GOP leaders scrambling for a Plan B after 52 of his Republicans defected to join all but Democrats in voting against the bill.

Re-post NamSouth 2007

(If his attempt to kidnap Lincoln the year before had been successful, the South may have won it's freedom )

As the worst tyrant in American history and the man responsible for a war which killed over half a million Americans, snuffed out efforts at self-determination, and utterly destroyed half of the continent, Lincoln got what was coming to him on that Spring night in 1865. 'Sic Semper Tyrannis' were appropriate words indeed."

A senator on the Environment and Public Works Committee tossed a snowball on the Senate floor Thursday to demonstrate his objection to the theory of climate change.

Reaching into a bag, Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., pulled out a large snowball and raised it for those in the gallery to see.

"Do you know what this is? It's a snowball," he said, gesturing at fellow Republican Bill Cassidy of warm-weather Louisiana, "It's very, very cold out," he added.

The Left's War on White America

Via Billy

Folks, I pray that what I am about to say will help open your eyes to the evil coming from the Left in our country (Democratic Party, Hollywood and the mainstream media). When you start teaching innocent little children to feel guilty for being born white, it can only be described as a war on white America.

I am black and very pleased with who God made me to be. Imagine the Left’s reaction to a white person saying they are grateful for God’s choice for their life. According to the Left, everyone (gays and minorities) are encouraged to be proud of who they are except white people.

I brought this up at dinner with white friends. I wonder how white America is dealing with the Left relentlessly trashing all things white? When will it reach a tipping point? My friends laughed, “Oh my gosh, Lloyd is becoming David Duke (white nationalist, former Grand Wizard of the KKK).” My friends were having a little fun with me. But one does have to wonder when whites begin saying, “Enough!”

Common Core Testing Regime Ruled Unconstitutional

In a development with massive implications for the Obama administration’s ongoing attempt at nationalizing education with Common Core, a Missouri judge ruled this week that the federally funded testing regime for the controversial standards was unconstitutional. The ruling means that the state of Missouri is officially prohibited from participating in the “Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium” (SBAC), a key element of Common Core enforcement, because it's an “unconstitutional interstate compact.”

Giant 8ft 9in catfish weighing 266 pounds caught in Italy is thought to be the biggest ever reeled in with a rod and line

Dino Ferrari hooked the huge wels catfish, which was 2.67m in length, last week in the Po Delta in Italy

A fisherman has caught a giant 8ft 9in long catfish weighing 19 stone - and it could be the biggest ever caught with the humble rod and line.

Dino Ferrari hooked the huge wels catfish, which was 2.67m in length, last week in the Po Delta in Italy.

The cannibalistic wels catfish, also known as the sheatfish, is native to Europe and can grow as long as 13ft and up to 62st - but it is exceedingly rare to catch one that is over two metres long.

IRS watchdog reveals Lois Lerner missing emails now subject of criminal probe

 https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Bjf5YxnCcAEcHhc.jpg

The IRS’s inspector general confirmed Thursday it is conducting a criminal investigation into how Lois G. Lerner’s emails disappeared, saying it took only two weeks for investigators to find hundreds of tapes the agency’s chief had told Congress were irretrievably destroyed.

Investigators have already scoured 744 backup tapes and gleaned 32,774 unique emails, but just two weeks ago they found an additional 424 tapes that could contain even more Lerner emails, Deputy Inspector General Timothy P. Camus told the House Oversight Committee in a rare late-night hearing meant to look into the status of the investigation.

“There is potential criminal activity,” Mr. Camus said.

After fighting with rebels in Libya and embracing the revolt in Syria, Matthew VanDyke has rolled up in northern Iraq, but the celebrity American revolutionary-cum-filmmaker has traded his fatigues for a three-piece suit.

VanDyke, who rose to fame as a foreign fighter backing Libyan rebels against Moamer Kadhafi, has just finished leading his new military contracting firm through its first assignment -- training Christian volunteers to take on jihadists.

Funded by Christian groups from abroad, mainly from the United States, the Nineveh Plains Protection Unit (NPU) aims to bring a local Christian militia to bear against the Islamic State group that has seized swathes of Iraq and Syria.

Feds Attempt to Derail Liberty Movement in WA State, Interrogate Liberty Activist

Via Horace

http://www.patrickhenrysociety.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/colonial-flag-bill-cannon.jpg

Yesterday we reported on the arrest (and later release) of liberty activist Anthony Bosworth, an Iraq War vet and one of the co-leaders of Liberty For All.  You may have seen the InfoWars story on his questioning by the FBI.  What you don’t know is that it was far worse than even they reported.

If you have already seen the video, then you already know that he was not read his Miranda rights during his arrest.  He also wasn’t given his Miranda rights at any time during the three hours of interrogation by various federal agencies.  Not only did he confirm with them that he was, in fact, in custody and being interrogated (the two flags that must be present for a Miranda warning), but he specifically and repeatedly requested to speak with an attorney.

Rather than read him his rights and allow him access to an attorney, they told him that he would not be speaking to a lawyer of any kind, let alone one of his choosing.  The idea of access to legal counsel as secured by the Constitution, he was told, was “Hollywood stuff.”  In other words, we do not care what the Constitution says; we will do to you whatever we want.  Under the current “terrorism” laws, they can.

Judicial Watch announced today that on February 11, 2015, it uncovered documents from the U.S. Department of State revealing that top aides for then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, including her then-chief of staff Cheryl Mills, knew from the outset that the Benghazi mission compound was under attack by armed assailants tied to a terrorist group.  The documents were produced as a result of a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against the State Department (Judicial Watch v. U.S. Department of State ((No. 1:14-cv-01511).  The documents make no reference to a spontaneous demonstration or Internet video, except in an official statement issued by Hillary Clinton.

Judicial Watch lawsuit focused on Mrs. Clinton’s involvement in the Benghazi scandal:

FedEx will ship other CNC machines just as capable of completing an untraceable lower receiver without batting an eye, as well as the lower receivers themselves, Dremel tools, jigs, drill bits, routers, lathes, and other common (and much cheaper) machine shop tools used by recreational gunsmiths.

You can buy CNC milling machines on any one of dozens of web sites and have them shipping straight to your door, but FedEx is refusing to deliver one computer-controlled milling machine that is only remarkable for its name.

5 Things You Need to Know About the FCC's Net Neutrality Plan

 Net Neutrality

Details about FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler's net neutrality plan emerged yesterday, and it left D.C. types all atwitter. But this is not just an inside-the-Beltway issue. It could impact how your ISP runs their network and what type of recourse you have if you think they're doing something shady.

The details are all very wonky—I can sense you all nodding off at the mention of things like Title II, forbearance, and inter-connection. But if you care about the openness of the Internet—and you should—listen up. Here are some of the most noteworthy parts of Wheeler's proposal and what you need to know about them. And check out the top players' reactions in the slideshow below.

Forced Blood Draws, DNA Collection And Biometric Scans: What Country Is This?

The Fourth Amendment was designed to stand between us and arbitrary governmental authority. For all practical purposes, that shield has been shattered, leaving our liberty and personal integrity subject to the whim of every cop on the beat, trooper on the highway and jail official. The framers would be appalled.”—Herman Schwartz, The Nation
Our freedoms—especially the Fourth Amendment—are being choked out by a prevailing view among government bureaucrats that they have the right to search, seize, strip, scan, spy on, probe, pat down, taser, and arrest any individual at any time and for the slightest provocation.

Forced cavity searches, forced colonoscopies, forced blood draws, forced breath-alcohol tests, forced DNA extractions, forced eye scans, forced inclusion in biometric databases—these are just a few ways in which Americans are being forced to accept that we have no control over what happens to our bodies during an encounter with government officials.

Worse, on a daily basis, Americans are being made to relinquish the most intimate details of who we are—our biological makeup, our genetic blueprints, and our biometrics (facial characteristics and structure, fingerprints, iris scans, etc.)—in order to clear the nearly insurmountable hurdle that increasingly defines life in the United States: we are all guilty until proven innocent.

Thus far, the courts have done little to preserve our Fourth Amendment rights, let alone what shreds of bodily integrity remain to us.

Drones over Paris

For two nights, up to five drones were spotted over landmarks in Paris. French police weren't able to track down the drones or the owners due to the difficulty of tracing their flight paths while on the ground. In response, a task force has been formed to focus on this "threat." Even the US secret service has been called in as consultants (although their track record with drones is pretty terrible).

42% of Hispanics Born in US Oppose Obama's Amnesty & Hispanics to Fill 75% of New US Jobs by 2034

 http://www.teaparty.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/amnesty-national-suicide.jpg

A new poll shows that Latinos overwhelmingly support President Barack Obama’s executive action on immigration — but the numbers are not as clear cut as the White House would hope.

The Gallup poll says that Latinos back Obama’s plan by 64 percent to 28 percent, compared to Americans overall, who disapprove of the measure by 51 percent while 41 support it.

But The Washington Post pointed out that the results are “misleading” because Obama’s order is only exceedingly popular among one single group of Hispanics — Hispanic immigrants.

Latino immigrants approve of the president’s action by 75 percent to 17 percent, while Hispanics born in the United States are "relatively evenly split" on the measure, 51 percent  who are in favor and 42 percent who disapprove, the Post reports.

"It's hardly a resounding stamp of approval for the executive action from non-immigrant Hispanics," wrote the Post’s Aaron Blake in The Fix, the political commentary section.
"And that matters, electorally speaking. That's because Hispanics who are born in this country are much more likely to be Hispanic voters.

Hispanics will occupy more than 75 percent of new jobs in the United States between 2020 and 2034 — which amounts to 11 million jobs, according to the results of a new study.

The IHS study concluded that employment growth among the Hispanic population will average 2.6 percent per year over the next 20 years. During that same time frame, according to the data, growth in the non-Hispanic workforce will fall to almost nothing, meaning Hispanics will make up 23 percent of all U.S. employment by 2034. In 2014, that figure was 16 percent.
Other findings include the number of Hispanics that speak Spanish at home, which will rise from 36.9 million to 55.4 million by 2034, and the theory that an increased amount of immigrants flocking to the U.S. will help strengthen the U.S. economy.

"The Hispanic population is a younger and faster-growing segment of the population, while trends in the non-Hispanic population are heavily influenced by the aging baby-boomer generation that is moving into retirement," said IHS economist James Gillula, the lead author of the study. "The Hispanic population will play an increasingly significant role in future U.S. employment growth."
