Ten Things You Don’t Know About Robert E. Lee

.....“that wherever you find the negro, everything is going down around him, and wherever you find a white man, you see everything around him improving.”

The quote above from the main body of the piece below came from  Pampatike Farm
(The quote took place as Lee was leaving his first cousin's farm, Pampatike, Manquin, Virginia after a visit. He was responding to a question as to whether he should use whites or blacks as laborers. The farm has been in the Townsend family for over 100 years, and is currently owned by my Cousin Frankie. http://www.pampatike.org/

I have always observed that wherever you find the Negro, everything is going down around him, and wherever you find the white man, you see everything around him improving."
to fellow Virginian Col. Thomas H. Carter, June, 1865

Lee is still much a “Marble Man”: the noble face of the antebellum South, the tragic embodiment of the Lost Cause, the “perfect” man, as a contemporary deemed him. Even his admirers are unaware of the some of the more interesting details of the life of this very human hero. Here are ten facts about Robert E. Lee that you may not know…

Flag Day was once called the “runty stepchild among American national holidays” by the New York Times. While it may not be the grandest of our country’s celebrations, it’s impossible to talk about Flag Day without briefly discussing why Old Glory was originally created, and what it means today.

We may know the flag as a strong symbol of patriotism, but at the time of the American Revolution, it had a much more pragmatic purpose: It existed to distinguish the American military forces from the British.

It doesn’t matter what you do — for your country, for your fellow man, whomever — if you also do something reprehensible or seen as reprehensible in the future, that’s it. You’re finished. Banned from history.

Such is the fate of founding father and third president, Thomas Jefferson. Current social justice theology dictates that his contributions to this country, the Declaration of Independence — none of that matters because he also owned slaves at a time when it was legal to do so.

Jordan Peterson to launch new censorship-free social media platform

Canadian academic Jordan Peterson has announced he’s creating a new social media platform that’s entirely censorship-free.

Speaking with Joe Rogan last week, Peterson assured listeners that freedom will be the “central” aspect of the new platform saying, “once you’re on our platform we won’t take you down unless we’re ordered to by a US court of law.”

Thinkspot,’ as it’s been branded, will be designed to promote thought-through interactions through a minimum required length. Essentially, the opposite of Twitter’s 280 character maximum.

Peterson explained: “If minimum comment length is 50 words, you’re going to have to put a little thought into it. Even if you’re being a troll, you’ll be a quasi-witty troll.”

“Per the Joe Rogan podcast this week, I’m backing a new platform called Thinkspot, currently in Beta,” Peterson tweeted on Tuesday. “Get on the waitlist here, exciting announcements coming very soon. thinkspot.com

Thinkspot is set to launch in August this year. Sooner or later there will be a mass conservative FACEXIT and TWEXIT. Many other alternatives have attempted to trigger the conservative exodus from Facebook and Twitter. Will Thinkspot succeed where others have failed?
