 The Republican Senate candidate says Senate Majority Leader McConnell needs to step down.

Alabama Democratic Senate nominee Doug Jones says it’s “absurd” for the campaign of GOP opponent Roy Moore to characterize him as an “ultra-liberal.”

“That’s pretty absurd,” Jones told Fox News’ Peter Doocy on Saturday at a fish fry in Birmingham. “You know, that’s their only hope. I mean look, they’re in desperation mode right now.”

As Moore tries to move past the allegations of sexual misconduct that have crippled his campaign over the last week, his campaign is emphasizing Jones’ stances on cultural issues. Moore’s wife, Kayla Moore, took aim at Jones’ positions during a speech in Montgomery on Friday.

Friendship is a beautiful thing, and it's really good to know that Robert Mueller, Comey, Brennan, and Clapper have known each other for many years.  They're loyal friends.

Mueller is a former top FBI dude, who helped to clear Bill Clinton after that impeachment mess, and like Mr. Comey, he did his very best.  Clapper was the single most powerful man in the "intelligence" "community," a centralized directorate (as the Soviets used to call it), which was George W. Bush's principal response to 9/11/01.

Now don't get me wrong: I'm sure all these brave men (or persons, I should say) made great contributions to the safety and welfare of all of us.  But here they are at the peak of their careers, each one of them, and Democrat candidate Hillary is suddenly exposed to the world with her email fiasco as SecState.  Violating the very first rule of intelligence and statecraft, to protect your country's secrets.  And she obviously sold secret and sensitive information to Clinton Foundation "donors" around the world, including old friend Vladimir Putin (who now owns 20 percent of U.S. uranium, or possibly more), the Muslim Brotherhood (friends of Huma), the Iranians (who sponsor half the terror attacks in the world), the Chinese (who want more of our secret high tech), and probably the French (who understand bribery and just wanted to get access to Hillary as POTUS).

We've seen how Bill sold U.S. rocket-launching secrets to the Chinese for campaign money...or personal money.  It's so hard to tell the difference.

Well, skip that.

It’s official: US to dominate oil and gas markets

There is an ongoing power shift in the world energy market that is receiving scant attention in the MSM.  The International Energy Agency (IEA) in its annual publication, World Energy Outlook, predicts that the U.S. will dominate the global oil and gas markets for many years to come as a result of the shale boom, which is the biggest supply surge in history.

    By 2025, the growth in American oil production will equal that achieved by Saudi Arabia at the height of its expansion, and increases in natural gas will surpass those of the former Soviet Union, the agency said…. The boom will turn the U.S., still among the biggest oil importers, into a net exporter of fossil fuels. (emphasis added)

Various veterans and historians have provided critical reviews of the Ken Burns/Lynn Novick series "The Vietnam War," and there is a score of points they take issue with, but I will address perhaps the simplest one: Glossing over the conscious and rigorously practiced policy of atrocities by the communist forces, while spotlighting those few committed by United States forces.

The terrorism practiced by the VC was constant and widespread; by the end of 1968, nearly 42,000 citizens of the south had been assassinated or kidnapped, never to be seen again. Teachers, policemen, village chiefs, monks, soldiers, and others were killed – sometimes whole families, sometimes in deeply gruesome ways.

The organized massacres in Hue during Tet are now known to add up to more than 5,000 people, including German doctors, French priests, and others – some shot, others clubbed, and many buried alive.

In the village of Dak Son in December 1967, more than 250 unarmed villagers were burned to death by NVA flamethrowers. We saw pictures of those murdered in My Lai, but none were shown of the burned bodies from Dak Son, or the remains dug up in Hue — wrists wired together, or gags stuffed down their throats.

The original tweet from CNN can still be looked at.  We'll see how long it is before they try to take it down.  (Update: It appears one of Getty's photographers shot the original photo; it's been linked in the comments, and I checked it.  It's pretty-clearly the image CNN used and it was also clearly shot in color as it includes portions of the people holding it in the picture....)

I took the image on the right side of their tweet, brought it into Photoshop and increased the size.
I will swear under oath that I did nothing to tamper with the color or tone and in fact did nothing other than increasing its zoom level to 400% because it would be impossible to tamper with the image at said greatly enhanced zoom level without causing visible artifacts in the background and periphery of the letters.  There is also a gradient in the paper caused by a B&W photo being in part of the area where the signature is, which again will cause visible artifacts if I were to try to tamper with it.  In other words I did this to add irrefutable proof that I did not in any way tamper with the image itself.  I also saved the extract from the tweet as a "PNG" which is lossless from my desktop to yours; no compression so there are no artifacts added in my process either; whatever CNN put forward, that's what I (and you) have.

The two Stanford administrators who were present when I spoke there Tuesday evening were Nanci Howe, Associate Dean and Director of Student Affairs, and Snehal Naik, Assistant Dean and Associate Director of Student Affairs. They were not there to listen and consider; they were there to ensure that the event was disrupted.

They did this first by making sure that the hall was packed with students who had no intention of attending the lecture, but were there only to sabotage it by denying seats to people who actually wanted to attend. They even kept out some members of the College Republicans, the group that was sponsoring the event.

Then, after the walkout, they refused to allow in people who actually wanted to attend, refusing repeated requests to do so.

“Sometimes the Constitution of the United States is commended as if it had been created out of whole cloth, overnight, from the glowing imagination of the Framers. That notion is far from the truth. Truly the Constitution is a bundle of compromises among interests and classes: a principal merit of the Framers was their ready recognition of this electable fact. As Burke said of government generally, it is a contrivance of human wisdom to supply human wants. The politicians who framed the Constitution were not an elite of theorists, but an assembly of governors, in the old signification of that word “governor.” They were representatives of a class, in every former colony, that had exercised authority almost from the early years of British settlement in North America; they were drawn from a natural aristocracy.

A recent poll found that fifty percent of millennials say they would rather live in a communist or socialist country than in a capitalist democracy. These numbers can’t be laughed off -- they should frighten you. Maybe they don’t know what communism means.

I do. I lived in Communist Poland.

There's No Such Thing as an "American" Homicide Rate

Some places largely free of gun restrictions — like the Dakotas, Utah, Idaho, Minnesota, Vermont, and New Hampshire — have very low homicide rates. But other places with similar or more restrictive laws — such as Missouri, California, and most of Latin America — have much higher rates. Obviously, homicide rates are not simply a function of gun laws.
In September, the FBI released new homicide data, and the overall US homicide rate rose for the second year to an eight-year high.

According to the report, the nationwide homicide rate in the US in 2016 was 5.3 per 100,000, up from 2015's rate of 4.9.

The homicide rate in 2014 — 4.4 per 100,000 — had been a 51-year low, and comparable to rates not seen since the 1950s.

Homicide rates still remain well below where they were in the 1980s and 1990s, when homicide rates sometimes exceeded 9 per 100,000.

A liberal academic has demanded that society stops labeling people for their crimes, claiming that calling someone convicted of raping children "a pedophile" is "prejudice" and infringes on their human rights. According to Kimberley Brownlee, a philosopher at the University of Warwick, even the term "criminal" must be stopped when it's used to describe a person who has committed a crime because it's "politically incorrect." In an article entitled, "Stop labeling people who commit crimes ‘criminals,’" Brownlee, calls the word an "epithet," and compares it to the use of derogatory terms and phrases used for people with disabilities.

This has been a good year for the global economy, and 2018 will follow that trend, analysts at Goldman Sachs said.

Economic growth around the world has picked up steam this year. Germany — Europe's largest economy — grew an unexpectedly strong 0.8 percent in the third quarter. In Japan, the economy has grown for seven straight quarters. Meanwhile, in the U.S., the economy grew 3 percent in the third quarter.

"2017 is shaping up to be the first year of the expansion in which growth surprises to the upside," Goldman analyst Charles Himmelberg said in a note to clients Thursday. "We expect 2018 to deliver more of the same."

The infamous “Wilson Raid” into Alabama and the burning of Tuscaloosa in early April 1865 had no impact whatsoever on the outcome of the war, as by March the Southern Confederacy had been all but overrun and Lee was exhausted in Virginia. Opposing Wilson’s 14,000 well-armed and equipped troopers were Nathan Bedford Forrest’s ill-equipped and scattered cavalry numbering 5,000.

Chaplain Basil Manly of Alabama was the brother of Charles Manly, the last Whig governor of North Carolina and serving 1849 to 1851. The cruel act of destroying barns and farm implements as well as killing or carrying away livestock was intended to hasten the onset of starvation among Southern civilians.

The Twilight of the Confederacy

“In the spring of 1865, the Yankees returned to Alabama. By this point, not even the South’s most feared cavalryman, Nathan Bedford Forrest, could stop the 14,000 Federal horsemen under Major General James H. Wilson. As Forrest tried to stay between the Yankees and Selma, Wilson ordered one of his subordinates . . . to take the city of Tuscaloosa, to divert some of the Confederates 6,000 troops.

[The enemy’s] 2,000 cavalrymen swept aside the few militiamen who tried to stop them, captured the town and, while pillaging the area “burned the buildings used for public purposes at the university,” including the library, from which only a few items were saved.

The Yankees also “took away all the horse and mules they could find. They camped in our streets, that night, and next morning they proceeded to burn the foundry and factory, the miter sheds, and the bridge across the river.”

The Federals left the city just ahead of the Confederate cavalry sent to intercept them, having successfully diverted Forrest, who was soon defeated by the twenty-seven-year-old Wilson. Wilson’s victory over the notorious Forrest would have made him a hero two years earlier, but was simply a mop-up operation in the spring of 1865.

On May 23, a “body of Yankees under Col. Marsh, which have been here about a week, took their departure. The soldiers “took all the good horses and mules they could get; without compensation. Corn, meat, etc., they took from private parties, at pleasure . . .” The Northern troops were said “to be from Illinois,” and [Basil] Manly had heard that “they took a Negro out, just before they left, who had stolen a [Northern] captain’s horse, etc., and shot him.”

In the spring of 1866, [North Carolina] Governor [Charles] Manly [1795-1871] wrote to a family friend, describing what had happened the year before. His plantation, Ingleside, [near Raleigh], to which he retired in the late 1850s, was destroyed by “Sherman’s Devils.” Coming onto the property, the Yankee troops “tore the House all to pieces, broke down the plastering and ceiling, all the doors and windows, stole all the furniture, all my books and papers and the old grain omnibus with all its contents – took every mule, horse, cow, sheep and poultry, all my corn fodder and hay, burnt up fences and destroyed [my] farming tools.”

Worse still, “a great part of this villainy was perpetrated after the surrender” of the Confederacy, but, as Governor Manly complained, “no redress could be obtained.”

Remember the woman who was fired for flipping off Trump’s motorcade? Well, she has been deluged with job offers from liberals and a Gofundme set up in her name has raised 117k dollars and counting. This seems like a small thing, but it’s indicative of where we are as a society.

There was a time when doing something trashy like flipping off a presidential motorcade would be frowned upon -- not because everyone loves the President, but because no one with class would do anything like that. Those days are gone and they’ve been replaced by non-stop trolling, outright hatred of people with differing opinions and grotesque tribalism. Gridlock has become the rule of the day in Congress for a number of reasons, but one of the biggest is that the Right and Left simply don’t agree on much anymore.

Commissioners in Montgomery County say they will restrict funding to a rural volunteer fire department that for months has refused to take down the Confederate flag that waves over it.

Debate over the Uwharrie Volunteer Fire Department’s flag has simmered for months but complaints about it go back years, according to news accounts. The department, organized as a nonprofit corporation in 1983, occupies a privately owned building but gets $19,000 a year in county money plus $400,000 annually for fire trucks.

County commissioners had previously asked the department to remove the flag. This week they delivered an ultimatum.

Glancing around at the clutter in my attic recently, I decided it was time to sort through  some of the unpacked boxes associated with my military retirement and move to  Pennsylvania. A fond smile crossed my face as I gingerly pulled out aging flight logbooks. As I randomly scanned the yellowing  pages, I was surprised by the vivid and  detailed recall the numerous sorties inscribed on those pages evoked. Aviation seems to have that effect on the mind.  
 
Locked in a trance with my memories, it was the flutter of a small newspaper clipping,  surrendering to gravity, as it fell from between the pages, that snapped the spell of the moment and brought me back to reality.  The clipping was a one-line notice from the Navy Times announcing the death of my friend, David Cummings, during 1988. When I first cut out the obituary notice and tucked it away in my logbook, I mentally promised myself that one day I would tell the story of his heroics--in another place and time...

The left's guilt trip

The left's inability to deal with its white guilt has undermined our national solidarity.

How did we come to be such a divided nation?  Mark Zuckerberg recently apologized for his social media's role.  Many blame the news media, some the economy.  The division is usually referred to as "ideological."  These are secondary factors.  The basic driver of the enmity is the convoluted means by which the left deals with its self-imposed white guilt.

The left tends to view people not as individuals, but as members of groups.  Leftists embrace identity politics, which lends itself to manipulation of ethnic, racial, and gender-specific groups like so many men on a chessboard.  This artificial construct of society creates an ideal infrastructure for the assignment of guilt.  The leftist elite group of secular, educated, affluent whites, cheerleaders of the new left, has been indoctrinated into believing that white privilege and white supremacist groups are the root cause of all social injustices.  These people wallow in group white guilt.  They are the ugly Americans, bearing the guilt of a racist nation, a land discovered by a racist, claimed by genocide, founded by slave-owners, built on slavery, and steeped in segregation.  America is guilty of imperialistic greed and globally usurps people of color.  "The system" is a chauvinistic old white males' club.  They need to show to themselves and others that they are innocent of and reject such bigotry.  They are the good people – civilized, enlightened, tolerant, and morally superior.

Birth Tax? 80 Percent of Obamacare Mandate Paid by Those Making Less Than $50,000

While Barack Obama was illegally funneling billions of dollars to big corporations in the form of health insurance companies, his indefensible Obamacare mandate still stands as a brutal tax that almost exclusively bleeds the working and middle class.

It works like this: If you are not covered by health insurance, if you do not buy something you are obligated by our fascist government to buy simply for the sin of being born, the federal government penalizes you with a tax of $675 for each adult in your household, plus an additional $347.50 for each child or a maximum penalty of $2085. Or… You will pay 2.5 percent of your adjusted gross income if that comes out to a higher amount than the per person penalty.

According to Forbes, the IRS reports that 6.67 million families are getting soaked by the Obamacare mandate. A full 5.3 million (or 80 percent) of those make less than $50,000 a year. Almost all of those families, 6.6 million of the 6.67 million, make less than $200,000 annually.

Apple's diversity chief is stepping down just six months after taking on the job after declaring that being minority or a woman are not the only criteria for diversity.

Denise Young Smith only took on the role of vice president of diversity and inclusion in May. 

'There can be 12 white, blue-eyed, blond men in a room and they're going to be diverse too because they're going to bring a different life experience and life perspective to the conversation,' the inaugural diversity chief said during a One Young World Summit in Bogotá, Colombia.

'Diversity is the human experience,' she said. 'I get a little bit frustrated when diversity or the term diversity is tagged to the people of color, or the women, or the LGBT.'

Today, we see that justice is completely co-opted by politics, a condition no republic can tolerate, but that is very apparent, even necessary, in a democracy. Is this why the leftists continue to insist that America is a "democracy?" It is not, but the United States is constantly referred to by senators and representatives as such.

A republic depends on the deliberation of competent individuals to write whatever laws are called for by the conditions of society, not at the whim of the mob. A democracy is, by definition, a mob demanding laws by popular whim, it is a very unruly and dangerous thing.

The United States of America are mere words of description. They are not a name. The rightful and historic name of this great Republic is “Virginia.” We must get back to it, if the Country’s name is to have any real significance.

Roy Moore: Gloria Allred’s Refusal to Release Yearbook Proves Allegations Are ‘Completely Untrue’

Attorney and activist Gloria Allred’s repeated refusal to immediately release to the custody of an independent examiner the original copy of a yearbook at the center of national controversy proves that “what they have alleged is completely untrue,” senatorial candidate Roy Moore stated in an interview.

The yearbook in question contains the only piece of physical evidence to be presented in the cases of numerous women who have gone public with stories alleging inappropriate conduct between Moore and teenage girls. Moore has strenuously denied the accusations.

Moore specifically pointed to the initials “D.A.” that appear after the signature on the yearbook to further demonstrate that the yearbook inscription and signature represent what he described as a forgery and “complete fabrication.”

Gettysburg Police and federal authorities are investigating a threat to the Gettysburg Remembrance Parade.

Gettysburg Police Chief Joe Dougherty says the threat was stated in a letter to the Gettysburg Times newspaper. Newspaper staff reported the threat to police who deemed the threat "credible and violent."

While police haven't provided details about the nature of the threat, they are taking precautions for one of the most anticipated events in the town.

"I read it and it gives me concern," says Dougherty. "With the way things are in the country today, we didn't want to take a chance and not over prepare."

This isn't the first threat to events in Gettysburg, Dougherty added, citing recent demonstrations by Antifa groups.

On Dec. 28, 1969 Capt. Roger Henry and Lt. Dave Cummings (Marine Cobra pilots with HML-367 at Marble Mt.) were flying cover for a CH-46 that could not pick up a wounded Marine because of bad weather and low cloud cover in the Que Son Mts. After an hour of trying to find the zone and position their Cobra gunship for the pickup they set down and Lt. Cummings leapt out of the Cobra and put the wounded man in his seat. The picture shows how Lt. Cummings rode back to the Navy hospital in DaNang. A week later Capt. Henry and Lt. Toby Gritz repeated an identical type of rescue during another medivac.

John C. Calhoun–valedictorian of his class at Yale, Vice President, Secretary of War, and Senator–was one of the greatest statesmen America has produced. Margaret Coit wrote a favorable biography of him in 1950 that won a Pulitzer Prize. In 1959, a Senate committee, headed by John Kennedy, ranked him among the five greatest senators in American history. Calhoun wrote one of the early works on the Constitution, and his Disquisition on Government was the first systematic political philosophy written by an American. It compares favorably with the classic modern political philosophies of  Hobbes, Locke, Hume and Rousseau. Lord Acton (famous for “power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely”) placed the Disquisition in his list of the 100 best books ever written.

Abraham Lincoln was the best U.S. President, motivated by a patriotic and Christian desire to preserve the union of states and free the slaves. At least that is what modern textbooks suggest. There is a bigger story to the 16th President of the United States than the Gettysburg Address and the Emancipation Proclamation. A whitewashed version of the man is all that we learned about him in school. It is what our children and grandchildren are still being taught. Public school districts and universities have been dutifully parroting that the Southern states of Lincoln's era had a perverse culture, while Northern society was superior. This became the politically-correct mantra when 'teaching' about Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War for generations after the Civil Rights Movement.

 The identity politics is only getting worse, and more blatant.

The narrative is not only infused heavily with a liberal bias, but moreover, it is entirely wrong. Far too many Americans, both current students and adults, believe that the Civil War was a war about slavery. This liberalized version of history does not chronicle the political shenanigans that were undertaken by groups to harden their centralized (federal) grasp on power, as is still the case today.

Most Americans do not believe that this issue was at play during Lincoln's era, but they are so very wrong. The current political atmosphere in America is a testament to how ignorance of history forces a people to repeat it.

President Abraham Lincoln should not be revered as a hallowed figure. "Honest Abe" was a mere man; one who made mistakes and decisions based on his own self-interest. Some of his choices did benefit America, but the benefits were often a positive byproduct of his political self-interest, not benevolence.

The Rolling Stone has just ran a story purporting to debunk the "Pizzagate" story. I find both the timing of the release of the story and the fervor with which it stakes out a position of righteousness in their claims as highly suspicious.

Firstly, this story hasn't been anywhere near even the back burner of public interest in months. Given that and the daily deluge of revelations coming out of Sodom and Gomorrah (Hollywood and Washington DC) one has to wonder if Rolling Stone knows more than they are telling and is this a preemptive cover story.

If we are true to the English language and its usage, what is referred to as the American Revolution was in reality a civil war as opposing sides fought for control of the governance of the American Colonies.  The 1861-1865 war was not a civil war as several Southern States had withdrawn from their voluntary political compact with other States, and formed their own voluntary Union.  The South, then, had no interest in governing the North and truly fought in self-defense; the North, then, truly fought the war for conquest.

 Saddened, heartbroken and appalled by removal of historical plaques

Dear Rev. York-Simmons:

As a retired US veteran, a retired VA employee, and an amateur historian, I am appalled, heartbroken, and saddened by the myopic decision to remove the memorials to two Christian Americans at Christ Church.  It truly is a sad day in American when historical remembrances which have been in place for decades are all of a sudden deemed "unwelcoming."  At least their tombs are not located there, for I would not doubt a decision would be made to exhume their mortal remains and deposit them in some field.

Having served on active duty for over 24 years, I must truly admit that this decision has made me and my entire family feel totally "unwelcome" at Christ Church--a sentiment which I am sure many other patriotic Americans share.  Moreover, the intentional removal of these plaques certainly means that there is no need whatsoever for me or my family to visit Christ Church should we travel to northern Virginia.

Apparently, the Episcopal Church in America in its attempt to be "welcoming" have alienated most Americans by removing historical plaques and memorials honoring some of our greatest American Christian heroes. I certainly hope this decision by the staff of Christ Church will increase your dwindling numbers; however, I doubt such will happen as those who may have felt "unwelcome" by the plaques are certainly not a majority and more than likely would not attend Christian worship services.

It is apparent that those who made this inane decision do not care what I, my family or the majority of patriotic Americans think or cherish.  They do not care about our feelings and the sadness we feel when we think of what has occurred.  Is provoking such feelings Christ-like, loving or welcoming?  I think not.

When will the decision be made to remove the Cross or the Scriptures at Christ Church because they are "unwelcoming?

"Any Russians? Anybody been to Russia? Got a cousin in Russia or something?"

Man Who Beat Two-Day-Old Daughter To Death Found Dead In His Cell. Another Inmate Arrested For Murdering Him.

 

On Sunday, a 22-year-old man who was serving a life sentence for murdering his two-day-old baby was found dead in his cell at HM Prison Leeds in England after another inmate allegedly killed him.

Liam Deane had been jailed in October after punching, shaking and squeezing his baby girl, Luna, to death because she wouldn’t stop crying. Deane admitted murdering his daughter while her mother was asleep. The baby died in intensive care after suffering "catastrophic brain injuries.”

Michael Smith, who prosecuted Deane, stated of Deane, "He said he was responsible for all of the injuries that she had suffered and he said that Luna had not settled down and he lost control."

He has signed up his first patient, a Russian man called Valery Spiridinov who will have his head frozen and then grafted onto a new donor body, according to his doctor.

The world's first human head transplant has allegedly been performed on a corpse in an 18 hour operation which successfully connected the spine, nerves and blood vessels of two people.

The operation was carried out by a team led by Dr Xiaoping Ren of Harbin Medical University, China, who last year successfully grafted a head onto the body of a monkey.

Italian Professor Sergio Canavero, Director of the Turin Advanced Neuromodulation Group, who has been working with the team, said they would 'imminently' move onto a living human who was paralysed from the neck down.

A Fox News Poll of 649 likely voters in Alabama released on Thursday and conducted between Monday and Wednesday of this week shows Democratic candidate Doug Jones with an eight point lead over Republican candidate Judge Roy Moore in the December 12 special election for the Alabama U.S. Senate seat once held by Attorney General Jeff Sessions, 50 percent to 42 percent, with a 3.5 percent margin of error.

That poll stands in striking contrast to a Fox10/Strategy Research poll of 3,000 likely voters in Alabama released on Wednesday and conducted on Monday of this week that shows Moore with a six point lead over Jones, 49 percent to 43 percent, with a two percent margin of error.

The 14 point differential between the two polls conducted over the same three day period contributes to the great uncertainty surrounding the election thrown into chaos by unsubstantiated allegations of sexual harassment made against Judge Moore over the past week by several women.

Here’s her response after being pressed on whether she knows if the signature is valid: “You know, I don’t — I haven’t asked her if she saw him, but we did describe what happened that evening in question. What she alleges was that she put it on the counter; that I think she asked to sign — or that he did sign it. That’s all.”

This doesn’t help Allred’s case. She already has a reputation for backing women’s lawsuits against Republican men. Why didn’t she do her due diligence and consult experts to verify whether or not the Moore signature was real? Why didn’t she do her basic homework before taking the case?

Cowards in the Academic Trenches

 

The problem with my leftist colleagues (UNC Wilmington) really isn’t their politics. It is their lack of courage. And it is getting worse. Granted, I have long heard reports of professors abusing students in the classroom. But those reports have drastically increased since the election of 2016. I would like to provide just a few examples before commenting on the effects such cowardly abuse are having on students and on the general campus climate:

*A professor was giving a pro Black Lives Matter lecture. A student countered the professor by making the rather obvious observation that “all lives matter.” Upon hearing it, the professor denounced his student as a racist three times in front of the entire class. Each time she tried to explain herself, the professor shouted “racist!”

These never before seen pictures from the Vietnam War show the spectacular artwork that helicopter pilots painted on their choppers during the brutal conflict.

Images daubed on helicopters included popular cartoon characters such as the Incredible Hulk, Road Runner and the Green Hornet.

Some of the artworks are threatening, including a white skull painted on a red background, but most are playful and innocent. 

Other pictures show soldiers posing next to The Good Ship Lollipop and The Magical Mystery Tour as they prepare for deployment, in what would prove to be one of the most brutal wars in recent memory.

The remarkable images appear in a new book, Vietnam War Army Helicopter Nose Art, by John Brennan.

It offers a unique insight into the conflict, which raged from November 1, 1955 to April 30, and killed nearly four million people.
