Arithmetic: How Badly You Have Been Screwed

Folks, I know people have this desire to moan about how bad this part of our country is or that, whether it be on guns, poverty, religion or whatever else pushes your buttons.

I challenge you to read and let this post sink in for a good hour today.  Do nothing else.  Find the hour, print this out or send it by email to your cellphone, read it and contemplate it.

Then choose, today and forward, whether you're going to sit for what has been done to you.

I present a simple arithmetic chart:

The data was pulled from here:

It is not my data.  It is official government data.  I did nothing other than pull it into Excel and chart it as a compound function.

Now let me explain what it shows you.

This chart shows the output per hour worked for Americans across the labor force.

It shows that today one hour of work at the end of 2013 produces 169.8% of the output that one hour of work produced in 1980.

Now stop and read that last sentence again -- very, very slowly.

Read it as many times as you have to until you understand it.

You should have 170% of the standard of living you obtained in 1980 from one hour of labor.

Let me ask: Do you?

SWAT Teams Avoid Open Records Laws By Forming Corporations – Free To Brutalize Americans In Secret

Via avordvet

A different report from the one posted previously.

SWAT teams have found a devious way of operating in secret.

By forming corporations, the militarized police can brutalize Americans free from the disclosure rules of public records laws.

See, law enforcement is a government function and must abide by certain laws, rules and regulations. Among these are federal, state and local open records requests.

Endlessly Contemplating the Past on the Front Porch

The years after 1865 saw the family as the core of Southern society and “within its bounds everything worthwhile took place.”  Even in the early twentieth century Southerners working in exile up North imported corn meal and cured hams, and missed the North Carolina home where “Aunt Nancy still measures by hand and taste,” and where “the art of cooking famous old dishes lives on.”

Endlessly Contemplating the Past on the Front Porch

“The governing families [of the South] . . . possessed modesty and good breeding in ample measure; much informal geniality without familiarity; a marked social distinction that was neither deliberate nor self-conscious. Indeed, the best families in the South were the most delightful segment of the American elite.

Southern charm reached its culmination in the Southern lady, a creature who, like her plantation grandmother, could be feminine and decorative without sacrificing any privileges except the masculine prerogative to hold public office.  Count Hermann Keyserling in 1929 was impressed by “that lovely type of woman called “The Southern Girl,” who, in his opinion, possessed the subtle virtues of the French lady.

What at times appeared to be ignorance, vanity or hypocrisy, frequently turned out to be the innate politeness of the Southerner who sought to put others at ease.

To a greater degree than other Americans, Southerners practiced what may be regarded as the essence of good manners: the idea that the outward form of inherited or imposed ideals should be maintained regardless of what went on behind the scenes. Southern ideals were more extensive and inflexible than those prevailing elsewhere in America.  To the rigid code of plantation days was added, in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, the repressions of puritanism imposed by the Protestant clergy, who demanded that the fiddle be silenced and strong drink eschewed “on pain of ruin in this world and damnation in the next.”

Although Southerners were among the hardest drinkers in America, one reason they voted for Al Smith in 1928 was because he openly defended drinking. Many critics called this attitude hypocrisy, even deceit; the Southerners, however, insisted upon making the distinction between hedonistic tendencies and long-established ideals.  If such evasiveness did not create a perfect code of morals, at least it helped to repress the indecent.

The home in the twentieth century remained the core of a social conservatism fundamentally Southern, still harboring “the tenacious clan loyalty that was so mighty a cohesive force in colonial society.” A living symbol of the prevailing domestic stability was the front porch where, in the leisure of the rocking chair, the Southerner endlessly contemplated the past. Here nothing important had happened since the Civil War, except that the screen of trees and banisters had grown more protective.

The most obvious indication of the tenacity of home life was the survival of the Southern style of cooking. Assaults upon it came from the outside, with scientists claiming that monotony and lack of balance in the eating habits of millions resulted in such diseases as pellagra.

National advertising imposed Northern food products upon those Southerners who would heed. Federal subsidies after 1914 enabled home economics to carry the new science of nutrition into Southern communities and schools. Yet no revolution in diet took place. Possibly, the . . . teachers overstepped . . . when they sought to introduce the culinary customs of Battle Creek and Boston.  Their attempted revolution failed for the same reason as that of the Yankee schoolma’ams during Reconstruction.”

Murrieta Residents Preparing for Riot Squads, Ready to 'Be Detained'

Via avordvet

 Stepping it up a notch!

A busload of illegal immigrants is expected to show up in Murrieta, California in spite of a furious group of residents who claim their town is no place for the migrants.

On Sunday Breitbart Texas broke the news that federal agents accompanying the bus will have riot gear and shields, in order to push back the crowd. Despite this, the protesters have no intentions of backing down--rather, the group is preparing for a showdown that one resident told Breitbart Texas "might get ugly."

Sources on the ground in Murrieta told Breitbart Texas that many protesters have already gathered in the town this morning in anticipation of the busload. Law enforcement is there, too.

Serviceman With Concealed Carry Permit Stops Ambush in Chicago

Thanks to absurdly restrictive gun control laws that ensured that only criminals and cops had handguns, Chicago has long been little more than “Mogadishu on Lake Michigan.” It is a bloody nightmare of a city when gunfire crackles through the air, day and night.  Is not at all uncommon for 50 or more people to be shot in the course of a weekend. Indeed, this past weekend, more than 60 people were shot, 9 of them fatally.

But Illinois Democrats have been forced by the courts to finally begin issuing concealed carry permits so that citizens can defend themselves, and the first permits were issued earlier this year.

An unnamed serviceman put his legally concealed handgun to good use Friday night after a thug opened fire on a group of people because they dared move his drink off of their car when they wanted to leave.

No… I’m not kidding.

"Legal citizens are now criminals and the real criminals are being welcomed with open arms."
To everyone that thinks “globalist” and “New World Order” talk is simply insane conspiracy theory, you might want to think again. It is happening right before your eyes. Legal citizens are now criminals and the real criminals are being welcomed with open arms.

Earlier today we reported that riot squads are now being promised in Murrieta California. If sources are accurate, those squads are supposed to be arriving today.

Now news is breaking that Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins has gone door-to-door, to some 300 residences, to warn of what is coming to their neighborhood and to a school in Grand Prairie. He is making it clear that no one will be stopping buses without law enforcement stepping in.

Obama's motive on border non-security? 3 guesses and the first 2 don't count

Rick Perry: Obama either 'inept' on border security, or has 'some ulterior motive'

It doesn’t look as if President Obama will accept Texas Governor Rick Perry’s invitation to visit the refugee camps in Texas filled with underage illegal immigrants.  That’s no surprise to the Governor, who appeared on ABC’s “This Week” to confront a full spread of Democrat talking points launched by host Martha Raddatz.  In case you were wondering, yes, the Democrats and their media pals have figured out a way to blame all this on George Bush.

Costco removing D'Souza's 'America' from shelves

The retail giant Costco Wholesale has issued an order to remove all copies of Dinesh D’Souza’s bestselling book “America: Imagine the World Without Her” from the shelves of its stores nationwide, WND has confirmed.

The book, in this mid-term election year, is a strong rebuttal of the progressive ideology behind President Obama’s policies, which have been supported by Costco co-founder and director Jim Senegal, a major Democrat donor and a speaker at the 2012 Democratic National Convention that nominated the president. A Washington Post political reporter has noted Obama’s “romance” with the nation’s second-largest retailer.

The Obamas Have Spent Over $44,351,777.12 In Taxpayer Cash On Travel

Via Billy

The Obamas have spent over 44 million dollars in taxpayer money on travel and vacations. Some are even calling him the “most well-trvaeled, expensive” president in our nation’s history.

As Americans head off for the long holiday weekend, let’s take a look back at some of the president’s holiday spending.

Our president vacations a lot — we’re talking $44,351,777.12 worth of “a lot,” with most expenses charged to the American taxpayer.

As of March 2014, Obama has spent more time traveling internationally than any other president, taking 31 trips since assuming office in 2009. The 119 days spent overseas have cost taxpayers millions of dollars.

China thinks it can defeat America in battle

The bad news first. The People's Republic of China now believes it can successfully prevent the United States from intervening in the event of a Chinese invasion of Taiwan or some other military assault by Beijing.

Now the good news. China is wrong — and for one major reason. It apparently disregards the decisive power of America's nuclear-powered submarines.

Moreover, for economic and demographic reasons Beijing has a narrow historical window in which to use its military to alter the world's power structure. If China doesn't make a major military move in the next couple decades, it probably never will.

The U.S. Navy's submarines — the unsung main defenders of the current world order — must hold the line against China for another 20 years. After that, America can declare a sort of quiet victory in the increasingly chilly Cold War with China.

Backlash Stirring in U.S. Over Foreign Worker Visas That Many Say Lead to Reduced American Employment

Via avordvet

Jennifer Wedel of Fort Worth, Texas is photographed at her home after challenging President Obama in 2012 on the H-1B visa issue, making headlines when she asked him via a public online chat about the number of foreign workers being hired, given that her husband, a semiconductor engineer, couldn’t find work. (Image source: AP/Star-Telegram, Khampha Bouaphanh, File)

Amid calls for expanding the nation’s temporary skilled worker program, some Americans are pushing back.

They argue the so-called H-1B program has been hijacked by staffing companies that import cheaper, lower-level workers to replace more expensive U.S. employees.

Mosin-Nagant Sniper Rifle Review + Installing the Timney Trigger for Mosins

 This part couldn't be simpler.

Timney Mosin-Nagant Trigger

One of the best war movies ever made was “Enemy at the Gates.” It is about the WWII Battle of Stalingrad, and a Soviet sniper named Vasily Zaytsev. In the movie Vasily becomes a national war celebrity, and is then pitted against a top German sniper. The victor will, seemingly, carry the hearts and minds of the soldiers in the field, thereby swinging the war in the favor of the victor. Yes there are some stupid relationship and love triangle moments, but the movie doesn’t stray too far from the brutality of a war that was literally about survival.

Jude Law, who plays Vasily, is not the biggest star in the movie however. He is far outclassed by his rifle, a Russian Mosin-Nagant Sniper model. Since the movie’s release, America has seen thousands of these really nifty rifles make it through importation into the hands of US shooters. They generally go for $600-$900 on GunsAmerica. Most supplies at the wholesale level have now dried up though, and the prices are surely to rise. We bought two of these rifles, and installed the Timney Mosin-Nagant trigger in one of them to shoot side by side with a stock gun.

U.S. CIA Spy, Planted By Obama Admin, Busted Inside German Government

Via Susan

obama dos equis

Most embarrassing part -from an Ally perspective- is that the Germans asked us for help in identifying the mole.  They were initially thinking the spy was Russian.   It turns out he was an Obama-era U.S. spy.

A suspected double agent under arrest in Germany has been spying for the CIA for two years, German intelligence officials investigating the case now believe.

“All the evidence suggests that he was working for the Americans,” an unnamed senior security official has told Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper.

The country’s top security official has demanded a full American response to German investigations.

“I expect everyone now to assist quickly in clearing up the accusations – and quick and clear statements, from the USA too,” Thomas de Maiziere, the Interior minister said.

Germany’s Foreign Ministry summoned the America ambassador on Friday but German authorities have confirmed only that a 31-year-old man is under arrest.

Open Carry: Veteran Unlawfully Disarmed, Detained & Arrested

Via LH

Mack Worley is a veteran of the United States Air Force. He honorably served his country for almost 6 years before being medically retired.

On June 29, 2013 Worley was unlawfully detained, disarmed and arrested for legally open carrying his rifle in Vancouver, WA.

He was charged with trespassing, despite being on a public sidewalk. He was also charged with “displaying a weapon” even though open carry is legal in the state of Washington.

Worley is currently fighting these charges.
