NC: Proud To Be A Democrat

Via Dan "This is for my good friend,  who lives close to Morehead City.Heh! :)

The ignorance is mind baffling.

The farcical missive reproduced above is "true" in the very broad sense that it is in fact a letter to the editor which was published (under the title "More Modern Way of Living") by a regular newspaper, in this case the 29 January 2013 edition of the Carteret County (North Carolina) News-Times. That publication later prefaced the online version of the letter with an editor's note stating that:
The following Letter to the Editor, published in the Jan. 23 edition, has gone viral on the Web after a reader linked it to a Fox News Facebook page. It had received more than 4,000 comments and been shared more than 12,000 times by [the following week].
Whether this letter is "real" in the sense that its writer intended it to be taken literally by readers is something that can't be answered definitively (since the author is not identified by name), but almost certainly it was penned as a spoof of Democrats rather than as an earnest letter from a Democrat. The tone of the letter is tongue-in-cheek throughout, implausibly consisting of nothing but multiple obvious absurdities piled one atop another and recycling a number of old jokes, such as the notion that a person born by Cesarean section is not considered a natural-born citizen and the humorous stereotype of the individual who publicly proclaims himself as being "proud" of his membership in a particular group yet insists on remaining anonymous.

Supremes shoot down state's fight for gun rights

'It is fruitless to expect federal government to control the lust for tyrannical power'

Contending it is “fruitless” to expect that the federal government would rein in its own “lust” for tyranny, the instigator of a years-long conflict with Washington over the Interstate Commerce Clause says the battle is over.

At least for now.

Gary Marbut, president of the Montana Shooting Sports Association, said the lawsuit he and his organization brought to uphold the state’s rights on weapons will not be considered at the Supreme Court.

The court’s unwillingness to take the case leaves standing a decision by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that upheld a lower court’s decision to throw out the Montana Firearms Freedom Act.

The law states that firearms made and kept in Montana are exempt from federal regulation under the Commerce Clause, which gives the federal government authority to regulate commerce only “among” the states.

In a posting to supporters, Marbut wrote that the case is now at the end of the road, but a movement has been spawned.

Call Carolina Ale House Monday Morning!

From previous GRNC alerts, you may already know that Carolina Ale House is an anti-gun restaurant chain. Currently, it is LM Restaurant’s policy to post all of their corporate-owned Carolina Ale House restaurants against law-abiding gun owners. Recently, the restaurant group’s leadership even punctuated their anti-gun stance with the following statement.

Carolina Ale House Rejects Carolina Values:

Says their official corporate statement:
“Our concept has the commitment of creating a family-friendly environment, therefore, our main priority is the comfort, safety and enjoyment of our Guests.  We have elected to exercise our right to prohibit the carrying of firearms in our family-owned restaurants...”

So, according to LM Restaurant’s above statement, peaceful concealed handgun permit-holders like you are not “family friendly.” Your family is not welcome. This is a slap in the face to law-abiding gun owners, and it’s time to let the restaurant’s leadership know that your friendly family will not spend one more dime at their restaurants until the gun-ban signs come down. Gun owners will be happy to enjoy the comfort and safety of establishments that respect them, and that do not prohibit them from protecting their loved ones.

On Monday, use the number provided below to phone Carolina Ale House’s corporate leadership, at LM Restaurants. Deliver the “not one more dime” message. If at all possible, call at the suggested time. Consider setting a reminder on your calendar. If you can't call between 9 and 10 AM, call whenever you can.

NC: February Illegal Alien Child Rapists and Crime Report

We have published two new reports of illegal alien crime in North Carolina for the month of February 2014.

 1. February Child Rapists34 confirmed and highly probable illegal aliens representing over 100 charges of rape against NC children! All of these individuals have a court date scheduled or were arrested for child rape in February. Many of them with multiple charges, meaning, they raped more than one child or raped one child multiple times.

See this report here:

2. February Crime Report by suspected illegal aliens- This report covers all other crime categories that were committed by suspected illegal aliens in NC for the month of February. It is 39 pages long and includes the usual rape, murder and drugs that we have unfortunately become accustom to.

See this report here:

These, as well as the past 5 years of monthly crime reports, are archived on our website, and are the direct result of your Raleigh Legislators' refusal to do anything to reduce the illegal alien population in NC. In fact, they have made it easier and more desirable to come to NC by gutting our e-verify law.

The only way to stop this is to contact your Representatives in Raleigh and demand they enact strict State immigration enforcement laws. You can find your State Senators and Representatives listed here:

Although NCFIRE is active, informed and involved; achieving our mission of enacting and enforcing illegal immigration laws in North Carolina costs money. Currently, we are absorbing all the costs associated with this effort. (web servers, domain names, email accounts, travel expenses, participation in events, business cards, brochures, paper and ink). Your donation, however small, would greatly help us fight to protect you from the onslaught of criminal activity by illegal aliens in North Carolina. Ukraine - The Full Scoop

Via Freedom Outpost

 Hi Mish,

The last Ukrainian government was awful, but as someone who speaks the language and has been reading the local news for hours each day, I want you to know there are two sides to this story.

The Western media is not reporting accurately and in a balanced way as to what’s going on in Ukraine, both in the run-up to the fall of the regime, and now, in the aftermath.

There is a “reign of terror” in Kiev and some other areas right now.

Offices and even private homes associated with the former ruling party and its communist allies have been ransacked or burned by militias even though Yanukovich’s mansion has been left alone.

An independent member of parliament who critiqued certain positions of the main nationalist party was assaulted and had to go to hospital with a concussion.  Also, some public officials in the central/western regions have been detained and beaten-up.

Other pro-Russia citizens have been rounded up and taken away by militias, with no warrant.  We have no idea if, how, or where they are being held.

The ultra-nationalist umbrella groups that direct the militias have just announced they will essentially take charge of Central Elections Commission HQ and monitor its work during the upcoming national vote.  How fair will the vote be?

Riot police returning to their bases in western Ukraine were forced to attend public assemblies in which they had to get on their knees and beg forgiveness (whether or not they were involved in any abuses.) Some have already fled their homes and are living as refugees.

Also, one of parliament’s very first post-revolution decisions was to revoke the right of local governments to do business in non-Ukrainian languages, such as Russian. Another law has been proposed to effectively ban the broadcast or rebroadcast of television or radio from Russia.  There are still other proposed bills aimed at provoking and oppressing the Russian or Russian-speaking population.

Lastly, while the new legal authorities are investigating the killing of around 70 protestors, no one is looking into the deaths of at least 13 policemen (at least 10 from gunshot wounds) or several ruling party workers who were killed in an attack on their office.

It’s much easier to pretend this is about democracy, human rights, the peoples’ choice, etc. while looking the other way now that “our guys” have won. We have seen this movie before. And I fear it will only get worse from here.

Yes, the former government led by President Viktor Yanukovych was corrupt. But the leading opposition figure, who was just released from jail was named by U.S. Federal prosecutors as an unindicted co-conspirator in the massive corruption schemes of a former Ukrainian prime minister who served time in U.S. Federal prison for money laundering and other charges after having made off with what is believed to be hundreds of millions of dollars, much of it not yet recovered.

Feel free to use my name. I put in my time in uniform, and I’m not afraid that some pro-war, pro-intervention chickenhawks might call me a traitor for supporting the “wrong” side. I have earned my right to say whatever I want.

All the best,

Jacob Dreizin

Sicilian mafia sent hit man to whack Giuliani

Sicilian mafia sent hit man to whack¬†Giuliani

The head of the Sicilian mafia sent a hit man to America to arrange the murder of Rudy Giuliani in the 1980s, Italian news media reported.

“Boss of bosses” Salvatore Riina targeted Giuliani because of his friendship with an anti-mafia judge in Sicily, Giovanni Falcone.

The plot to kill Giuliani, while he was US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, came to light during a trial in Sicily in which former Italian government officials are accused of agreeing to a peace pact with the mob in the 1990s.

During the trial in Palermo, it was disclosed that a former mafioso, Rosario Naimo, moved to the United States in 1965 and became the Sicilian mob’s senior representative in the US.

Russia not recalling ambassador or breaking diplomatic relations with US

Russia not recalling ambassador or breaking diplomatic relations with US

Well, maybe.

Russia says it is not breaking diplomatic relations with the United States amid reports that Russia's ambassador may be recalled from the US for consultations. This is according to Lower House's Eurasian Integration and Compatriots Committee head Leonid Slutsky. The Upper House has recently put forth to pull the ambassador from the United States.

Its Speaker, Yuri Vorobyov, spoke at the ad hoc parliamentary session Saturday where he quoted media reports as saying that US President Obama had warned Russia there would be "costs" for its interference in the Ukrainian crisis.

The senator emphasized that these words constituted a potential threat to Russi.

2014 finds abortion clinic numbers still plunging

The recent closure of a California abortion clinic was the fifth to shut down this year, continuing a decline in which nearly three of every four abortion-providing locations has closed since 1991, according to Operation Rescue.

The group, which itself bought one abortion clinic to put it out of business, has been monitoring the decline of America’s abortion businesses for years.

In a year-end report for 2013, it said 87 businesses discontinued offering surgical abortions, including 81 that were permanently shuttered, during the year.

Iranian grad student at Georgia Tech burns self with Molotov cocktail, media yawns

As you read the following, keep in mind that this happened three weeks ago. The only reason I know about it is because Glenn Reynolds linked to it this morning.
WXIA in Atlanta, Feb. 5:
The FBI says a Georgia Tech graduate student was burned by a Molotov cocktail at his apartment in the 200 block of 10th Street, not far from Piedmont Park.
Atlanta police spokeswoman Kim Jones said Saamer Akhshabi suffered third-degree burns over 90 percent of his body. Lighter fluid and a charred pillow and mattress were found inside the apartment, along with the Molotov cocktail and several plastic bottles filled with gasoline and kerosene.
The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, along with the Atlanta Police Department and Atlanta Fire-Rescue are working to investigate the circumstances behind the incident. Homeland Security was also notified of the explosion.
But according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle on Feb. 6: “Officials: No sign of terrorism in fire at Ga. Tech student’s apt.” Other than, y’know, the Iranian guy making Molotov cocktails.

Today’s illegal ObamaCare change: subsidies for everyone!

Today's illegal ObamaCare change: subsidies for everyone!

In a properly functioning republic, Congress would have repealed ObamaCare a long time ago – it’s an absolute failure by Barack Obama’s standards, since he can’t get through a week without making illegal modifications to the idiotic law his party stuffed down our throats.  The first illegal modification should have been the end of the Affordable Care Act.

The latest one is going to cost us a bundle, it’s flagrantly against the law, and it should prompt emergency sessions of Congress to wipe out the Affordable Care Act once and for all.  How much of this turkey has to get plucked before our degenerate political system admits the law is null and void?

How arbitrary must this Administration become, before some last-ditch effort to preserve our Constitution and the rule of law is mounted?

Cops and Robbers: Lessons from Venezuela

Citizen control cultists dream of a world in which there is no right to bear arms.

They imagine a world in which handguns are completely outlawed along with centerfire rifles, and the few legal firearms that do remain are tightly regulated by the state.

They dream of a world in which only agents of the state have guns.

Is this their dream?

Cop vs. Firefighter (vs. George Zimmerman)

Robb Allen provides the backstory on this one:
The backstory is that the firefighter was drunk and had assaulted a cab driver already. The cop was working security and went to apprehend the guy who then resisted arrest. A guy decided to video the incident because he wanted to capture the cop being all brutal and whatnot, but in the end his video was proof enough to a grand jury that the cop’s shoot was justified.

Apple CEO: If You Don't Believe Global Warming, Don't Buy Apple Stock!

You don't have to worry about that, useful idiot.

Apple CEO Tim Cook has a strong message for stockholders who don't like his company's stance on environmental issues and its concerns about global warming: "Get out of the stock."

Representatives from the conservative National Center for Public Policy were on hand at Apple's annual shareholders meeting to demand that the company pledge that it would not pursue environmental efforts, including methods to fight back on climate change, unless they improve Apple's bottom line, reports Mashable.

But NCPPR General Counsel John Danhof, in a statement released before the meeting, said it objects to "increased government control over company products and operations, and likewise mandatory environmental standards," saying "this is something [Apple] should be actively fighting, not preparing surrender."

Obama's sandbox

Via Terry "The perfect gift for Obama. He can draw all the lines in the sand he wants.
Includes a rake and two cranes so after the lines are crossed he can erase them with the rake and draw a new one.
Since it includes two cranes we have the satisfaction of giving him the bird at the same time."

Disney World Pulls Funding for Boy Scouts Over Gay Ban

A member of Scouts for Equality holds an unofficial knot patch incorporating the colors of the rainbow, a symbol for gay rights.

Walt Disney World will no longer subsidize local chapters of the Boy Scouts of America, in response to the national organization's continued ban on allowing gay troop leaders.

The theme park has donated in the past to the Orlando-area Boy Scouts as part of its "Ears to You" program, which gives money to causes for which its employees volunteer. The Walt Disney Company's "Standards of Business Conduct" includes protections against "harassment or discrimination" based on, amongst other things, "sex, sexual orientation, and gender identification."

The Boy Scouts of America voted last spring to allow openly gay youth scouts, but kept its ban on openly gay troop leaders.

Supreme Court: No Right to Social Security
The government can cancel the whole program tomorrow. They can stop paying benefits to retirees, but continue withholding taxes from workers. They can do whatever they want because we elected them. That's what due process means.

In a little-noticed decision, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Congress and the president could cut off your Social Security benefits any time they please.

The first victim was a man named Ephram Nestor.

Nestor paid Social Security taxes for 19 years and was already receiving benefits when the government stopped paying him. As you might imagine, Nestor was outraged and appealed all the way to the Supreme Court. He argued that, having paid all those taxes, the government owed him "his" Social Security benefits.

Nestor lost. So will you and me, if we live long enough.

Devastating: Myles's dad died just five weeks after he was born, but he stays connected to the soldier through pictures, stories and regular visits to his grave site
  • Myles Eckert, eight, found the cash in the parking lot of Cracker Barrel on February 7
  • Instead of buying a video game, he gave it to Lt. Col. Frank Dailey who was eating at the restaurant
  • He said in a note that Dailey reminded him of his deceased dad who was a soldier and his family liked to 'pay it forward'
  • Army Sgt. Andy Eckert was killed in Iraq, just five weeks after Myles was born
