No Thanks! Turkey Prices Up 41%, Home Heating Oil Up 115%, Food Prices Up 10.5%

WASHINGTON, DC - AUGUST 30: U.S. President Joe Biden meets virtually with FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell and governors and mayors from states and cities impacted by Hurricane Ida in the South Court Auditorium in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building on August 30, 2021 in Washington, DC. The Category 4 hurricane …

Thanksgiving 2021 is shaping up to be the most expensive in history.

Prices of processed turkeys are up 40.7 percent compared with a year ago, data from the Department of Labor’s Producer Price Index showed Tuesday. That’s even after falling a seasonally adjusted one percent in October.

It may be hard to even find turkeys in some parts of the country this year. The Wall Street Journal reported that turkeys were 60 percent out of stock. Cranberries, yams, and sweet potatoes are also low in stock.
Grain prices are 40.8 percent higher than a year ago, driving up the prices of our largely grain-fed turkey crop. Beef and veal prices are up 41.5 percent compared with a year ago. Overall, food prices are running 10.5 percent higher than a year ago.

Unbelievable! Pelosi Obeys Megan Markle’s Command, Rams Paid Family Leave Back into Biden’s Bill Despite Opposition

On July 4, 1776, Americans officially began the process of divesting ourselves of the British royals. This was during the reign of George III, before he became spitting mad. While he was accused of being a “tyrant” or permitting forms of “tyranny” four times in the Declaration of Independence, he certainly wasn’t the worst wastrel the House of Hanover produced. That’d be George IV, so it’s probably good we got out while the getting was good. On Nov. 3, 2021, Democratic politicians took a baby step back toward bowing to the royal family. Granted, it wasn’t much of a step, but it also wasn’t much of a royal, either.

Social Justice is Our New Religion

Nothing is worth salvaging from Woke Christianity and its gospel of social justice. Indeed, Christians must reject that gospel, which really isn’t a gospel at all but instead leftist ideology stamped with the false imprimatur of “biblical” authority.

A review of Christianity and Social Justice: Religions in Conflict (Reformation Zion Publishing, 2021) by Jon Harris

Writing during the Fundamentalist-Modernist controversy in the 1920s, Princeton New Testament scholar J. Gresham Machen argued that Christianity and liberalism are hostile and antithetical religious systems. “In the sphere of religion,” wrote Machen, “in particular, the present time is a time of conflict; the great redemptive religion which has always been known as Christianity is battling against a totally diverse type of religious belief, which is only the more destructive of the Christian faith because it makes use of traditional Christian terminology.”

Hibernation is Over – Momma Bears Wake Up

Video repost.

The maternal instinct to shelter and defend her young is an integral part of every mother’s DNA.  Although not expressed in a similar manner by all species or individual animals, protecting the young from harm and death is a survival advantage in the natural selection process.  Even species normally considered “flight” animals like horses, deer, and some birds, become aggressive to frighten or kill predators when their young are in danger.  Human beings have the mental ability to recognize non-physical risks, and, constrained by morality, we can react using communication and non-aggressive skills to protect their children.

A child’s education begins at birth.  A baby’s brain is ready to absorb information from all the child’s senses and learns from the stimulating environment in which a baby lives.  Interactions with family, especially the mother, have a lasting effect on the child’s mental development and create his or her future attitude about life.  While no two children learn in exactly the same manner, a child’s first teachers are those who surround him in the home during the early years of life.

Virginia Democrats walk back concession on House control

Virginia Democrats walk back concession on House control

Days after Democrats conceded control of the Virginia House of Delegates to Republicans, they walked back that concession as two key races in which the GOP holds razor-thin leads appeared headed for recounts.

As of Tuesday, vote counts show Republicans with 50 seats and holding slight leads in two additional seats that have still not been called by The Associated Press. Democrats have 47 seats and are leading in one other district that has not been called.

In both districts where Republicans are leading, the margins are under 0.5%, which allows candidates to request state-funded recounts.

He canceled his planned speech at the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow.

Earlier reports stated “family obligations” were the cause of his absence.
