She reamed them a new one. :)
Here is Marine Le Pen's short but cogent speech in the EU Parliament yesterday where she had the opportunity to address for the first time both Angela Merkel and François Hollande.
Thank you Madame Merkel for coming here today with your Vice-Chancellor, the administrator of the province of France. Mr. Vice-Chancellor, I would like to be able to call you president of the French Republic, out of respect for your office, but you do not exercise this presidency any more than your predecessor did. A French president would not be able to say "sovereignism means declinism", as you have just done, because a French president upholds the French constitution, and Title 1 of the French Constitution is "On sovereignty".
A French president cannot constantly ignore the interests of France. The interests of France do not mean blind submission to policies decided upon in Berlin, Brussels, or Washington. France's interests are your duty, that of defending her sovereignty. The interests of France are not about presenting a sorry spectacle of a France attached to Germany on the question of migrants.
When, in a completely irresponsible act Madame Merkel says it is necessary to welcome with open arms 800,000 migrants, you applaud. When, a few days later, she suspends Schengen and wants to control her borders, you applaud again, giving a pitiful image of France as a country at sea, vacillating on an issue that is so essential to the security, prosperity and identity of France!
The interests of France are not about abdicating to Dr. Schäuble when the economic policy of the continent is decided upon. This policy is synonymous with massive unemployment, with precariousness, and the collapse of our social welfare system. On the contrary, we should resist and prevent Greece and other countries of southern Europe, and France, from plunging into the endless spiral of austerity in order to save the euro and the German economic model of low salaries.
