Trump's shutdown trap?

Via Gleason Long"Build the wall. Keep the govt shutdown for at least 35 days just to be sure RIF is instituted."

The structures were wired to make them unusable as we were leaving. Shredding machines had been going 24/7 since the first of April.

Absolutely a RIF has been used many times before and how I eventually ended up at DAO instead of OICC.  I lost my job at OICC (South Vietnam Before 1975 Check out the last three pictures) only to be hired later by DAO.  All perfectly legal.

Has President Trump suckered Democrats and the Deep State into a trap that will enable a radical downsizing of the federal bureaucracy?  In only five more days of the already "longest government shutdown in history" (25 days and counting, as of today), a heretofore obscure threshold will be reached, enabling permanent layoffs of bureaucrats furloughed 30 days or more.

Don't believe me that federal bureaucrats can be laid off?  Well, in bureaucratese, a layoff is called a RIF – a Reduction in Force – and of course, it comes with a slew of civil service protections.  But, if the guidelines are followed, bureaucrats can be laid off,  as in no more job.

It is all explained by Michael Roberts here (updated after the beginning of the partial shutdown):

Steve King: “I will continue to point out the truth and work with all the vigor that I have to represent 4th District Iowans for at least the next two years”

Rep. Steve King in his office, January 2018

The House passed a resolution on Tuesday which condemns Rep. Steve King (R-IA) and white supremacy after the Iowa congressman allegedly made racist comments to the New York Times, wondering how “white nationalism, white supremacy, and western civilization” became offensive. Rep. King disputes the Times’ report.

The House passed the resolution H. Res. 41, 424-1, which was sponsored by Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC). Rep. Bobby Rush (D-IL) voted against the resolution; reportedly Rush wants to censure King.

King inflamed controversy last week when he allegedly questioned in an interview with the New York Times why the terms “white nationalist, white supremacist, Western civilization” have become offensive.

There’s a whole list of reasons why leftists do not want a border wall.

Mind you, they’re all terrible reasons, given how important national border security is to a sovereign nation, but leftists still cling dearly to their opposition of a wall.

As most things leftists tend to believe, most of their reasons are based on things like feelings or youthful ignorance.

One big thing leftists have fixated on is the $5 billion price tag that has played a big role in the ongoing partial government shutdown. They feel as if that’s too hefty a price tag and a money sink.

You know what works great in the face of feelings? Facts.

Roy Moore Refutes Sexual Misconduct Allegations with Polygraph Test

The evidence continues to add up showing that Judge Roy Moore was mugged during his 2017 campaign for U.S. Senate.
Monday, the Judge released the results of a polygraph test, which he took voluntarily, that asked questions regarding whether he ever had a sexual relationship with his primary accuser, Leigh Corfman. Moore passed with flying colors.
In a press release, representatives for Moore said:
On December 19, 2017, Judge Roy Moore took an official polygraph examination, regarding his accusers. To this day no one but Judge Moore has sworn under oath multiple times as to the false allegations that were brought against him during his run for United States Senate in 2017.  This polygraph extends to include questions about not only Corfman but also Nelson and Johnson as these three are the ONLY ones who have accused him of any sexual misconduct.  Judge Moore has also been present for deposition. To this day Leigh Corfman and her attorneys refuse to answer questions about Judge Moore’s residence and/or vehicle. Furthermore, neither her or her attorneys have agreed for us to take Corfman’s deposition.  As illustrated in the document Judge Moore proved to give a truthful account and successfully passed the polygraph.

On Tuesday morning, CNN legal analyst Areva Martin, appearing as a guest on Sirius XM radio host and Fox News contributor David Webb’s show, spoke too soon when she accused him of “white privilege,” prompting Webb to disabuse her of that notion with one simple response.

Webb stated, “Areva, I hate to break it to you, but you should’ve been better prepped. I’m black.”

Well, so much for my five girls.......:)

Radicals Supported the North While Working People Supported the South

Over the years it has been noted, at least in some quarters, how strongly the communist  and socialist radicals in Europe supported the Northern  cause  during the War of Northern Aggression. Marx, Engels, and all their socialist ilk literally drooled with their desire for a Yankee victory. Marx warmly congratulated Lincoln on his re-election in 1864 to a second term. Lincoln warmly thanked him. It was almost as if there was a Marx-Lincoln Mutual Admiration Society at work.  Bakunin, the Russian revolutionary,  as well as other European socialists of various stripes, all supported the Northern cause. In fact they supported Lincoln and the Northern cause just as much as some Southern folks do today that have been taught to feel guilty about their Southern heritage. You may have known some folks like that. I have.
