Gun Organizations Unite to Stop Gun Ban

Via Blue

A collaborative effort of 27 pro-gun state and national organizations has formed to fight against any federal gun bans. The group is referring to themselves as the “National Coalition to Stop the Gun Ban” and has announced the formation of the coalition January 3, 1013.

The Nebraska Firearms Owners Association website http://nebraskafirearms.org/ states:

The objective of the coalition is to kill the proposals. Period. It is not to “compromise” by saddling gun owners with restrictions and whining “It was the best we could get.”  Nothing less than the complete defeat of the Obama/Biden/Feinstein proposals will suffice;
All coalition members have agreed that “compromise” is not an option; AND
The member organizations launched the Coalition with a coordinated “Open Letter to Members of Congress” and with coordinated press releases and membership alerts.

Participating organizations are comprised of both national organization and state organizations.
National organizations: The Firearms Coalition, Gun Owners of America, Rights Watch International, Second Amendment Sisters, USRKBA.org

I will accept no executive orders that reclassifies the most common and popular sporting rifle in America into a de facto “machine gun” just because a narcissist son of a drunken communist claims it is his right to do so.

I will not accept a ban on any firearms, or magazines from a self-absorbed Congress or any other imagined superior.

I will not give up one more cartridge, one more inch, or one more right so that statists in either party can constrict our liberties yet again in the false claim of safety, a claim that only serves their desire for absolute power without consequence.

Captain John Parker was a veteran of the French and Indian War when he ordered his troops of the Lexington Militia—not Minutemen, mind you, but the normal regular militia—to muster on Lexington Green. Parker was dying of advanced tuberculosis; he’d be dead within six months. His orders to his men as he faced 700 approaching regulars with less than 70 men are recorded for posterity. “Stand your ground. Don’t fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here.”

I can chart the path forward for no other man, but I will contest to their last breaths the desires of petty tyrants and their co-conspirators if they cross this red line that determines that the soap box, ballot box, and jury box have failed, and that the cartridge box is our last resort.

I will go to my death if this time comes to pass, orphaning and widowing those I hold most dear. For that I am truly regretful, just as I regret the lives I must attempt to cut short so that my children will breathe free. I know that in my sights will be another mother’s son or daughter, likely with children of their own. But they will have made their choice of whom to serve, and I have made mine.

There is no desire for bloodshed in my heart, but if they want a war, let it begin here.

Gen. McChrystal: Assault rifles are for battlefields, not schools

Via WRSA

Pathetic.  He would have been a good general for Stalin.

Former Gen. Stanley McChrystal, who led the war in Afghanistan, endorsed strong gun control laws Tuesday on Morning Joe.

“I spent a career carrying typically either an M16 or an M4 Carbine. An M4 Carbine fires a .223 caliber round which is 5.56 mm at about 3000 feet per second. When it hits a human body, the effects are devastating. It’s designed for that,” McChrystal explained. “That’s what our soldiers ought to carry. *I personally don’t think there’s any need for that kind of weaponry on the streets and particularly around the schools in America.”

*And we don't give a rat's ass what you think.

Stockman Introduces Legislation to Repeal School Gun Ban!

Ask your Congressman to Cosponsor H.R. 35

“I have one concern -- protecting children from dangerous predators. By disarming qualified citizens and officials in schools we have created a dangerous situation for our children.” -- Rep. Steve Stockman (R-TX)

We told you that Rep. Steve Stockman would be the most aggressive defender of our gun rights on Capitol Hill.

He proved us right on Thursday, when he introduced the Very First pro-gun bill in the Congress, in the face of a tidal wave of anti-gun hysteria.

Congressman Steve Stockman has introduced H.R. 35, the Safe Schools Act of 2013 -- a bill to allow principals, teachers, and staff to possess firearms in order to defend their students.

Before 1996, American kindergartners didn’t have to fear that if a crazed gunman burst into their classroom, they would be nothing but sitting ducks.

Before then, they didn’t have to worry that federal law openly advertised that there would be no one to protect them.

“In the 22 years before enactment of ‘gun free school zones,’ there were two mass school shootings,” Stockman said. “In the 22 years since enactment of ‘gun free schools,’ there have been 10 mass school shootings.

“Not only has that bill utterly failed to protect our children, it appears to have placed them in danger,” said Stockman.

Indeed, it has.

Within a couple of years of the reenactment of the Gun Free School Zones Act, the Columbine tragedy occurred. And the series of copycat school massacres has shocked and saddened our country ever since.

Clearly, the gun ban is not working. And it’s past time to try a new approach.
It’s time to go on the offensive! It’s time to repeal gun control, rather than talk about “enforcing the gun laws on the books.”

We don’t want to enforce gun control laws -- that’s what makes innocent people, including children sitting in their classrooms, less safe.

Anti-gun zealots who have enacted one unsuccessful gun ban after another have come up with a slew of reasons why our nation’s lawmakers should be protected by an army of heavily armed guards, but our children should be vulnerable.

There is a word for this -- it’s “hypocrite.” It is time to protect our children with the same tools and the same zeal we use to protect our congressme
n.
It is time to pass the Stockman bill and give real protection to our children.

Contact your Representative. Ask him to cosponsor H.R. 35, the Stockman repeal of the gun-free school zone ban.

Finally getting around to posting this: “I Will Protect Constitutional Rights…With My Dying Breath

ron bruce

VERBATIM

Sheriff Ronald B. Bruce has been the Sheriff of Hinsdale County in Colorado since his election in 2007. He contacted Freedom Outpost to let us know that he stands with Sheriff Scott Berry of Georgia and will not take his business to others who will discriminate against law abiding citizens in selling semi-automatic rifles, but stated unashamedly that with his dying breath he will protect current and existing Constitutional rights of those who elected him.

Bruce has been the Sheriff of Hinsdale County for the past six years. Prior to that he served in the Arizona Department of Public Safety’s Highway Patrol. He retired as a State Trooper, having served 28 years.

Sheriff Bruce wrote to me following the story on Sheriff Berry, “I’m on board with the Georgia Sheriff. If we learn of any of our suppliers that normally sold to civilians and are now discontinuing such sales, they too have lost our business.”

That’s not all, Bruce had already taken initiative by closing an account his office had with online retailer Cheaper Than Dirt. He wrote, “We cancelled our account with Cheaper Than Dirt after they quickly almost doubled their price for .223/5.56 and .308/7.62mm ammunition. They also suspended all “assault” type firearms sales to re-evaluate their position on this…read, figure how much they could get away with in the escalation of their prices for semi-auto carbines.”

Bruce was referencing the pull of the sell of all firearms following the Sandy Hook Shooting. Cheaper Than Dirt finally opened sales back up to handguns, including semi-automatics, and rifles, but are no longer offering the semi-automatic rifles such as the AR-15. Dick’s Sporting Goods, which are way over priced if you ask me, went all out of their way to hide a page which featured a Bushmaster AR-15 “out of respect for the victims and their families” and had even suspended sales of modern rifles. Out of respect for victims and families you hide a product on your website and stop selling certain ones for a period of time? That’s not respect, it’s trying to be politically correct.

While Cheaper Than Dirt has brought back the sale of handguns and shotguns, even semi-automatics in both varieties, they have not brought back semi-automatic rifles such as the AR styles they carried before. They do carry accessories and ammunition for these weapons, but they are anything but “cheap.”

Sheriff Bruce is a giving sheriff. He informed me that, “We are a very strong pro-2nd Amendment Sheriff’s Office. I and my staff are currently the only certified CHP instructors in the county and offer the classes free to any county resident.”

Bruce told Freedom Outpost that approximately 50% of the legal adult citizens in his county have obtained their concealed carry permits.

He then stated what I think should be every Sheriff’s motto,
“I have assured numerous constituents who have contacted our office since BHO’s re-election, that with my dying breath, I would protect their current/existing Constitutional Rights.”
When I contacted Sheriff Bruce back in order to confirm that I might be able to share his stand with my readers, here was his response, “Let ‘er rip Tim. I like to think I’m a man of conviction and don’t shirk my beliefs in the face of opposition.”

In my book, it is men like Sheriff Berry and Sheriff Bruce who should be held in high honor in their communities. They are the last stand against an oppressive federal government. Thank you Sheriff Bruce for your commitment to the people of Hinsdale County. May God grant you strength to continue serving well and may He raise up more men of conviction to serve other counties in our country in the same manner.

When Discussing the Second Amendment, Keep the First in Mind Too

By Jay Carney, White House Press Secretary

Thank you for participating in We the People to speak out on an issue that matters to you.
Let’s not let arguments over the Constitution’s Second Amendment violate the spirit of its First. President Obama believes that the Second Amendment guarantees an individual right to bear arms. However, the Constitution not only guarantees an individual right to bear arms, but also enshrines the freedom of speech and the freedom of the press -- fundamental principles that are essential to our democracy. Americans may disagree on matters of public policy and express those disagreements vigorously, but no one should be punished by the government simply because he or she expressed a view on the Second Amendment -- or any other matter of public concern.

We recognize that the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, sparked an intense, and at times emotional, national conversation about the steps we can take as a country to reduce gun violence. In fact, your petition is one of many on the issue, and President Obama personally responded by sharing his views on this important issue.

Look, like the majority of Americans, I believe that the Second Amendment guarantees an individual right to bear arms. This country has a strong tradition of gun ownership that's been handed down from generation to generation. Obviously across the country there are regional differences. There are differences between how people feel in urban areas and rural areas. And the fact is the vast majority of gun owners in America are responsible -- they buy their guns legally and they use them safely, whether for hunting or sport shooting, collection or protection.

But you know what, I am also betting that the majority -- the vast majority -- of responsible, law-abiding gun owners would be some of the first to say that we should be able to keep an irresponsible, law-breaking few from buying a weapon of war. I'm willing to bet that they don't think that using a gun and using common sense are incompatible ideas -- that an unbalanced man shouldn't be able to get his hands on a military-style assault rifle so easily; that in this age of technology, we should be able to check someone's criminal records before he or she can check out at a gun show; that if we work harder to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people, there would be fewer atrocities like the one in Newtown -- or any of the lesser-known tragedies that visit small towns and big cities all across America every day.

Certainly, it's all bullshit.  Hey, I've got an idea, let's replace Jay with an honest Carney!

Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood performed a record 333,964 abortions in 2011 while receiving a record-high $542 million in taxpayer support during the fiscal 2011-2012 years, according to the organization's recently released annual report.

According to the report, the government support represented 45 percent of Planned Parenthood's total annual revenue.

The figures in the annual report sparked outrage among pro-life advocates like Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the non-profit Susan B. Anthony List which lobbies politicians to promote policies to reduce and ultimately end abortion in the United States.

"While government subsidies to Planned Parenthood have reached an all-time high, so too has the number of lives ended by this profit-driven abortion business. Destroying nearly one million children in three years is not health care and does not reflect a concern for vulnerable women and girls. As Planned Parenthood’s funding goes up, abortions increase and real health services for women go down," said Dannenfelser in a statement.

To Sidestep Obamacare, Wendy’s Reduces Hours for Hundreds in Nebraska

Employees at various Wendy's restaurant locations in Nebraska will work fewer hours this year, reportedly due to costs associated with Obamacare.

Under the new healthcare law, businesses with 50 or more "full-time" employees must offer health benefits to their staffers working between 32 and 38 hours. Non-managerial workers at Omaha-area Wendy's will see their hours cut to 28 hours a week, according to local NBC affiliate WOWT.

Gary Burdette, vice president of operations for the Wendy's franchise, acknowledged the cuts are an attempt by the franchise owner to reduce the number of full-time employees at his Wendy's locations to avoid offering health care benefits to his staff, according to WOWT.

Wendy's spokesman Denny Lynch stressed in a Huffington Post interview that the decision of franchise owner Scott King was his alone and not "a company decision."

"Our franchisees are independent businesspeople, and they make the decisions regarding their restaurant teams. As small-business employers, our franchisees are facing rising food and operating costs and many new government regulations," Lynch said.

NC: Morrisville mayor asks retailer to halt some gun sales

Poll:  What's her IQ?:)

Mayor Jackie Holcombe said she wants retailer Gander Mountain to stop selling semi-automatic rifles at its Morrisville store in the wake of last month’s massacre in Newtown, Conn.

The shooter used a Bushmaster .223, which is sold by Gander Mountain.

Holcombe was supportive when Gander Mountain opened a Morrisville store in October. She called the outdoor-goods retailer a “perfect fit” for the town. But Holcombe said she wants the Minnesota-based company to help end gun violence.

“The availability of semi-automatic military-style rifles and high-capacity ammunition magazines at the Morrisville Gander Mountain has not been great news for our citizens,” Holcombe wrote in a Jan. 3 blog post as an open letter to Gander Mountain chief executive David Pratt.

Holcombe said she has received emails and heard from residents who are upset over the past few weeks.

“People have said they feel so unsafe when I see how packed the parking lot is at Gander Mountain,” Holcombe said.

Americans aren't buying 'assault weapons' just to have something to register

Via Don

When they are banned is when they are most needed

As discussed before, Senator Dianne Feinstein's (D-CA) proposed legislation to ban so-called "assault weapons" would amount to gun confiscation for many tens of thousands of peaceable, responsible, law abiding Americans. For the rest of the owners of these politically incorrect firearms, Feinstein's (as yet unreleased, but described in some detail) bill would merely mean a requirement for registration with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE).

Saying that the legislation would "merely mean registration" somewhat implies that registration does not lead to confiscation--that ease of confiscation is not, indeed, pretty much the point of registration. That notion is probably a tough sell for anyone who has followed the history of gun politics, both in the U.S. and abroad. Feinstein's home state, in fact, received "extra credit" in the Brady Campaign's ranking of states for anti-gun tyranny, specifically for using the gun registry for the purpose of wholesale confiscations.

America's Coming Gun War

Via hefferman1

Eight days after the massacre of 20 first-graders at Sandy Hook Elementary, where each child was shot with a Bushmaster .223, The Nation's Gun Show, the biggest east of the Mississippi, opened.

"A line already snaked around the building shortly after the three-day event began at 3 p.m., and the parking lot was jammed" at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly, Va., wrote Justin Jouvenal of The Washington Post:

"With an AK-47 slung over one shoulder, Marco Hernandez offered one word when asked why he was in the overflow crowd at the gun show."

"Obama," he said. "I wouldn't be here if it weren't for the possible gun ban."

And this is the story across America since Sandy Hook.

The weapon most in demand at Chantilly?

The AR-15 black rifle, a version of which was used to slaughter the innocents in Newtown. At Chantilly, their price doubled in hours to $1,800. Gun stores have sold out their inventory.

Obama CIA Pick John Brennan in 2010: Jihad a 'Legitimate Tenet of Islam'

 The enemy.

In May of 2010, Fox News reported Brennan defended Jihad as a "legitimate tenet of Islam.":

The president's top counterterrorism adviser on Wednesday called jihad a "legitimate tenet of Islam," arguing that the term "jihadists" should not be used to describe America's enemies.

During a speech at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, John Brennan described violent extremists as victims of "political, economic and social forces," but said that those plotting attacks on the United States should not be described in "religious terms."

He repeated the administration argument that the enemy is not "terrorism," because terrorism is a "tactic," and not terror, because terror is a "state of mind" -- though Brennan's title, deputy national security adviser for counterterrorism and homeland security, includes the word "terrorism" in it. But then Brennan said that the word "jihad" should not be applied either.

"Nor do we describe our enemy as 'jihadists' or 'Islamists' because jihad is a holy struggle, a legitimate tenet of Islam, meaning to purify oneself or one's community, and there is nothing holy or legitimate or Islamic about murdering innocent men, women and children," Brennan said.

The Washington Times Opinion Page met with Brennan three months later at an editorial board meeting and asked him about his remarks. Brennan asked for the meeting because he objected to an editorial the opinion page had written previously.

Brennan lost his temper relatively quickly during the question and answer time between him and then-TWT deputy editorial page editor (now with USA Today) David Mastio:

Then TWT Senior Editorial Writer Jim Robbins questioned Brennan about the issue of jihad. Brennan lost his patience at one point and decided to leave the TWT offices without answering any more questions:

“We cannot have big guns out here as far as the big guns that are out here, the semi-automatics and all of them,” Rep. Dan Muhlbauer (D-Manilla) told the Carroll (Iowa) Daily Times-Herald. “We can’t have those running around out here. Those are not hunting weapons. We should ban those in Iowa.”

Obama to Boehner: 'We Don't Have a Spending Problem'

In an interview with Stephen Moore of the Wall Street Journal, newly re-elected House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) opened up about President Obama’s utter unwillingness to cut a single dollar from federal spending. In a stunning admission, Obama reportedly told Boehner, “We don’t have a spending problem.”

Boehner added that President Obama continues to maintain that America’s federal deficit is caused not by governmental overspending but by “a health-care problem.” Said Boehner, “They blame all of the fiscal woes on our health-care system.” Boehner told Obama, “Clearly we have a health-care problem, which is about to get worse with Obamacare. But, Mr. President, we have a very serious spending problem.” Obama eventually replied, “I’m getting tired of hearing you say that.”

Obama may be tired of hearing Boehner talk about a spending problem, particularly when Obama has been re-elected on the basis of ignoring government spending. Nonetheless, America does have a spending problem, which Obama is steadfastly ignoring. “He’s so ideological himself,” Boehner explained, “and he’s unwilling to take on the left of his own party.” That’s why Obama refused to raise the retirement age for Medicare after agreeing to it. “He admitted in meetings that he couldn’t sell things to his own members,” said Boehner. “But he didn’t even want to try … We could never get him to step up.”

Authorities are investigating a home invasion in south Georgia that claimed the life of a Baxley woman, who was slain while her husband was tied up and allowed to live.

The Florida Times-Union reports (http://bit.ly/13dyMaK) that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is probing the crime in Appling County.

Appling County sheriff's officials say 26-year-old Jonathan Courson told investigators that two men forced their way into the couple's home in the Oak Ridge subdivision home around 4 a.m. Friday.

Courson said the two men tied up him and his wife, 28-year-old Mandy Courson, and later killed her.
Appling County Sheriff Benny DeLoach asked the GBI for assistance and agents were dispatched from three offices.

Appling County is about 200 miles southeast of Atlanta.

1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 Fastback with 2,648 Miles

S121 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 Fastback KK #1806, Original Car with 2,648 Miles Photo 3

Built in limited numbers with the purpose of homologating Ford's radical new 429 CI “Semi-Hemi” engine for NASCAR competition, the 1969 Boss 429 was the meanest factory Mustang ever built to that time. The 429 engine had all the juicy pieces needed to conquer NASCAR’s daunting superspeedways: a forged steel crank, four-bolt main bearing caps, forged steel rods, and huge, free-breathing aluminum heads with crescent-shaped combustion chambers. A Ram-Air-fed Holley 735 CFM 4-barrel carburetor, high-rise aluminum intake and a radical cam pushed power well past the 375hp factory rating. Serial number KK1806, this 1969 Boss 429 Fastback coupe is an amazing unrestored example with just 2,648 miles on the odometer. Factory finished in Royal Maroon with a Black Deluxe Décor interior, it is entirely original down to the White-lettered Goodyear Polyglas tires and factory exhaust. It is optioned with a front spoiler, trunk-mounted 85-amp battery, high-back bucket seats, Traction-Lok differential, power steering and front disc brakes, Visibility group, competition suspension, color-keyed racing mirrors and more. It is thoroughly documented with the original build sheet, window sticker, owner’s manuals, state registration and bill of sale from Livingston Ford Sales in Hastings, Minnesota.
