German Intelligence: 95 % Of Free Syrian Army Non-Syrian Extremist Groups

Via Arctic Pilgrim

German “Die Welt” daily said that only 5% of the armed terrorists in the so-called Free Army are Syrians, while 95% of them are extremist groups which came from several African countries to jihad in Syria backed by the Gulf and Arab countries.

The daily quoted intelligence experts in Germany as saying : ” The German intelligence has an official and detailed account of the nationalities of the rebels in Syria and their locations in the country,”

A member of the German intelligence said that some terrorist groups in Syria wok in full coordination with al-Qaeda, but the extremist groups are most dangerous than al-Qaeda since they commit genocide against children and women and use them as human shields to achieve the possible biggest number of casualties.

Retired Marine lost it all

Via LH

On the day Bennie Coleman lost his house, the day armed U.S. marshals came to his door and ordered him off the property, he slumped in a folding chair across the street and watched the vestiges of his 76 years hauled to the curb.

Movers carted out his easy chair, his clothes, his television. Next came the things that were closest to his heart: his Marine Corps medals and photographs of his dead wife, Martha. The duplex in Northeast Washington that Coleman bought with cash two decades earlier was emptied and shuttered. By sundown, he had nowhere to go.

All because he didn’t pay a $134 property tax bill.

The retired Marine sergeant lost his house on that summer day two years ago through a tax lien sale — an obscure program run by D.C. government that enlists private investors to help the city recover unpaid taxes.

Benghazi Anniversary: Known Benghazi Liar Susan Rice to Brief Congress on Syria

Do you sometimes feel as if America has fallen into the Twilight Zone?

First, we have a (Less than) Million Muslim march coming up this Wednesday, September 11.

Second, we have the United States Senate voting to aid jihadi terrorists al-Qaeda in Syria on Wednesday.

Finally, we're getting the word that known Benghazi liar and National Security Adviser Susan Rice will brief Congress on Syria on Wednesday, September 11, the anniversary of the attacks in Benghazi, Libya that left four Americans dead.

According to CNS: On Monday, Rice will give a speech about Syria to the New America Foundation, then speak to the Congressional Black Caucus and participate in a classified briefing that the administration will provide to members of Congress, the Associated Press has reported. She will then participate in another classified briefing for Congress on Wednesday--which will be the twelfth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the U.S. homeland and the one year anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the State Department and CIA facilities in Benghazi, Libya.

Speaking on CBS' Face the Nation, House Intelligence Chairman Mike Rogers (R-MI) said that having Rice brief Congress about Syria on the anniversary of the attack that she lied about on five Sunday shows last year is emblematic of the Obama administration's bumbling approach to making its case for intervention in Syria.

Lindsey Graham Looks Extremely Vulnerable in South Carolina

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!  We need to get a better challenger, though.

Sen. Lindsey Graham has represented South Carolina since 1995, but he hasn't faced re-election since the Tea Party brought principled conservatives and libertarians to the forefront of the Republican Party.

His last election was in 2008, and 2014 is not looking good for the veteran politician.

In a recent poll, Graham won support from under 50% of the state's Republican voters. Worse, Graham doesn't even break 40% among evangelicals, a group who makes up almost 60% of likely primary voters.

The highest polling of Graham's opponents are as follows: Lee Bright currently polls at only 13%, with Nancy Mace at 10% and Richard Cash at 7%. Graham's position as not only an incumbent, but an incumbent with universal name recognition running against currently-little-known challengers makes the low poll numbers particularly telling.

Obama offers Assad secret deal

It's none of our business, imbecile.

On the eve of a critical Capitol Hill discussion on Syria and two days before his address to the nation, President Obama has offered Syrian President Bashar al-Assad a way out of any U.S. bombing campaign.

Informed Middle Eastern intelligence officials tell WND the U.S. passed a message to Assad through Russia offering a deal that would ensure against U.S. military action if the Syrian leader agrees to the following terms:
  • Serious political reforms that will result in free and fair presidential elections.
  • Assad will not be allowed to run in future presidential elections and agrees to step down from power.
  • An international committee will supervise control of Syria’s chemical weapons arsenal.
  • The international community, with U.S. participation, will help rebuild the Syrian army and security services to guarantee participation from all factions of the population. The model for this reorganization is the so-called Dayton plan that has been overseeing the restructuring of the Palestinian Authority security organizations and militias.
The Middle Eastern security officials told WND that Russia has already objected to the term that bars Assad from running in future presidential elections.

The security officials further stated the U.S. believes Assad will likely reject the deal.

Alan Grayson: ‘They have no smoking gun that the attack was ordered by Assad’

 Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL).

Alan Grayson is a Democratic congressman from Florida and a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. He’s also one of the House’s most vocal skeptics of striking Syria. We spoke on Friday. A transcript of our conversation, edited for length and clarity, follows:

Ezra Klein: Let’s begin at the beginning. Give me your broad thoughts on intervening in Syria.

Alan Grayson: The great uncovered story at this point is there’s no practical way for military action to significantly deter the use of chemical weapons. What I’m hearing from other members is that the efficacy isn’t there. There’s no connection between what’s being proposed militarily and what’s happened. This is weighing heavily on internal discussions among members. For people who have to vote on this, it’s another mismatch between means and end.

The ideal attack would be some kind of magical-wand attack where you eliminate the chemical warfare capability. But there is this practical fact that if you blow up a chemical weapon, you spread poison gas in the immediate vicinity. It’s even worse than an attack on a nuclear facility: Then there’s some risk radioactivity will spread. If you attack a chemical stockpile, it’s guaranteed it will spread.

Syria tension now invades U.S. sports: No. 1 player: Crisis 'awakens memories' of 1999 bombing in Yugoslavia

As Congress prepares to debate the escalating crisis in Syria, the rising tensions have reached into the U.S. Open tennis event under way on Long Island.

The men’s No. 1 tennis player, Novak Djokovic, confessed to WND that the Syrian crisis “awakens memories.”

“It is like yesterday,” he said referring to the 1999 NATO bombing of the former Yugoslavia.

Djokovic’s concerns are part of a mosaic overshadowing this year’s final grand-slam event.

Once an oasis immune from the events outside the USTA National Tennis Center , the 2013 Open championships have seen fallout from the continuing tensions.

While there are few participants from the Middle East, there are many, like Djokovic, from the former Yugoslavia which found itself the target of a combined U.S./NATO bombing campaign in 1999 similar to the one now being threatened against Syria by the Obama administration.

Bill Ayers turns against Obama on Syria

Miracles never cease, again!

Leftist political activist and University of Chicago professor Bill Ayers has turned on Barack Obama, characterizing the president’s determination to launch a military attack on the regime of Bashar al-Assad in Syria as a “dumb war.”

In a series of posts on his Internet website over the past few days, Ayers has come out swinging, attacking the presidential candidate he backed in 2004 for trying to justify a U.S. strike on Syria.

In what appears to be satire aimed at mocking President Obama, Ayers posted Sunday, Sept. 8, a diatribe suggesting Assad has already authorized launch missile strikes against the United States.

Ayers wrote: “President Assad of Syria announced yesterday that he had authorized limited missile strikes against the United States of America. ‘The United States has consistently violated international law and civilized standards of behavior,’ he said. ‘It has gathered the greatest arsenal of weapons of mass destruction ever assembled, and it is in fact the only country that has ever used nuclear weapons. It has unleashed drone strikes against at least seven other nations, murdering thousands – it has even used drones to kill its own people. And the U.S. has routinely employed torture, a practice that has been condemned and outlawed for decades – it has even tortured its own citizens” [italics in original].

The giveaway that the piece is intended at biting humor is Ayers’ next paragraph, in which he mocks the language Obama has used to explain the planned military strike is limited in nature, language Secretary of State John Kerry seconded in his testimony before Congress last week.

Ayers wrote: “[Assad] explained that Syria had no territorial ambitions, that there would be no Syrian boots on the ground, and that his goals did not include regime change.”

150 Million Would Move to U.S. If They Could

Oh, wonderful, let them all come right away..........

Enforcement of the nation's immigration laws is crucial to the future of America due to a "fundamental fact," according to the Center for Immigration Studies — many more people would like to relocate here than the country could reasonably absorb.

"Unless this country becomes a very undesirable place to live and work, there will always be more people wishing to come here than there will be available legal immigration slots," the CIS states in a new report.

"That means [the country] has no other choice than to think seriously about immigration enforcement."

The CIS points to a Gallup poll of more than 450,000 adults in 151 countries conducted over a recent two-year period. It projected that about 13 percent of the world's adults, more than 640 million people, would like to leave their country permanently, and about 150 million of them would prefer to relocate in the United States.

The second most favored country people would like to move to is the United Kingdom — 45 million adults cited the U.K. — followed by Canada (42 million), France (32 million), Saudi Arabia (31 million), Australia and Germany (both 26 million).

Potential migrants who would like to permanently settle in America are most likely to come from populous countries such as China (22 million), Nigeria (15 million), India (10 million), and Bangladesh (8 million), according to Gallup.

Interestingly, only 5 million adults in Mexico say they would like to immigrate to the United States.
In terms of percentage of the population that would like to migrate permanently to America, Liberia leads the way — 37 percent of adults would move to the United States if they could, followed by Sierra Leone (30 percent), Dominican Republic (26 percent), and Haiti (24 percent).

Potential migrants aspire to move to another country "for the simple reason that they are in search of opportunity," Gallup observes.

But the CIS cautions: "Americans by nature are open and friendly people. This creates an understandable presumption of empathy for the millions of illegal aliens now living and working in this country.

"Yet the United States is also a country that takes 'playing by the rules' seriously. We don't generally reward or support cheating, taking unfair advantage, breaking rules and laws for your own benefit, or engaging in self-interested behavior at the expense of the communities of which you are, or want to become, a part.

"Illegal aliens do all of those things and more."

Sen. Ted Cruz says president has no authority to attack Syria without Congressional approval

Via Billy

Contradicting President Obama’s assertion, Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas said this morning on “This Week” that the president does not have the authority to order a military strike on Syria without Congressional approval.

“I don’t think he has the authority,” Cruz told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos.

“It would be contrary to the Constitution,” he added later, when Stephanopoulos asked him if acting without Congressional approval would be an impeachable offense, as some republicans have suggested.

NC: Confederate Flag to be raised at Seven Springs

The front of the memorial. The back has the names of the fallen heroes and my grandfather's quote below.

"I say we cannot know your suffering, but this we do know; We love and honour you, veterans, and are justly proud of the heritage you have given us. Just so long as warm blood flows in the veins of man, so long will the words 'Confederate Veteran' cause that blood to tingle with glorious pride, and, if there be one among us, born in our glorious Southland who is not so thrilled, every drop of stagnant blood proclaims him bastard to the South-a coward to all the world."

Incredible skeletal remains of Catholic saints still dripping in gems and jewellery discovered by 'Indiana Bones' explorer

While researching and writing another book on charnel houses, art historian, Paul Koudounaris, stumbled upon an amazing, if macabre, collection of 400 year-old, heavily jewel-encrusted skeletons hidden away in some of the most secretive religious establishments in Europe.  His expedition and the resulting photographs of dozens of these relics is now being revealed in his new book, Heavenly Bodies: Cult Treasures and Spectacular Saints from the Catacombs.  This is the first time that photographs of the skeletons have been published.
