III & Battle Flags

Via Jeffery "..........one of the young men who took the class was Josh Burleson (great young man, married with baby on the way, friend of our family, etc.). To be a young man with limited financial means, Josh has had a lot of training (pistol, rifle, CQB, knife fighting, etc. His daddy in law has a a great interest and is a financially able). Anyhow, three employees where Josh works were reprimanded and told to remove Confederate flags from their vehicles (This is Clayton Homes in Addison, AL-my home town).

The company also confronted Josh about his III percent Betsy Ross Flag. He informed them he would not remove it. He got a huge following on FB because of his stand. The Saturday after the week when he caught all the flak, he went to a guns show with my son and I and explained his position to us. Monday morning TPTB called him into the office and told him  his flag was fine. I took another picture (not this one) of it in his truck in the employee parking lot today and sent it to ...... telling him "all was well. As a side note, there are many from Decatur who work at the plant where Josh is employed. This bad news for the Confederate flag bearers, but good for Josh. I have the feeling that if the others had stuck to their guns as he did, they would be flying their colors now! Take care and good night.'

Richmond Monument Guards Update

We are halfway through our fourth week of Monument Guards in Richmond, and are thrilled to report that things APPEAR to have quieted down in the Capital of the Confederacy.

MAJOR GENERAL SIMON BOLIVAR BUCKNER

Only the Normandy D-Day invasion surpassed Okinawa in its scope, preparation, and forces employed. More than 548,000 Americans participated in the Okinawa invasion on 1 April 1945, an Easter Sunday. Curiously, there was virtually no resistance as they stormed the beaches. They soon discovered that the Japanese Imperial Army and Navy had literally gone underground, having spent a year forcing Okinawan slaves to dig their underground defenses. Eighty-three days of fierce combat were required to finally defeat the Japanese.

1966 Chevrolet Biscayne 427/425 HP Trans 4-Speed

According to accompanying documentation, Cloquet, Minnesota, native John Enlund III traded his 1965 Tri Power GTO to Larson Chevrolet of Superior, Wisconsin, for this Tuxedo Black-on-Red 1966 Chevrolet Biscayne two-door sedan. Enlund specified the top engine available, the L72 427/425 HP big-block V-8 with transistorized ignition, a Muncie M21 4-speed transmission, a 12-bolt 4.56 Positraction rear end with L72-specific dual upper trailing arms and F41 Special Suspension. When his country called him to duty in June 1967, Enlund sold his baby to 20-year-old Leroy Levens, who blew the engine at the drag strip. He procured a service replacement block, rebuilt the engine and kept the car for years. Levens would eventually come to own four more L72-equipped full-size Chevrolets and is an acknowledged expert on these now-rare machines.

After restoring the Biscayne using NOS parts, in 1986 Levens sold it to Joseph Fasano of New Jersey, who detailed it to factory-original condition using many dated components. He showed it regularly at Super Chevy and other venues, accumulating an impressive record of awards over 25 years. In 2013, Fasano sold the car to its current owner, who invested thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours refreshing its all-original sheet metal and Tuxedo Black lacquer, resulting in an AACA National Champion Award in April 2014 at Charlotte, North Carolina. The date-code correct L72 engine and compartment are correctly detailed, as is the rest of this remarkable example, which has been driven a documented 29,000 miles. One of a mere 183 built and one of only 11 believed extant today, this well-known multiple-award winner comes with documentation that includes the original invoice, full owner history, dealer and restoration paperwork, photographs and a certificate from the Antique Automobile Club of America.

In a dramatic but little-noticed bulletin from United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Obama Administration has announced a new executive amnesty program that would allow an unknown number of foreign nationals residing in the United States illegally to access  provisional waivers that would allow illegals to either remain in the country without consequence or return home and be eligible to instantly apply for a green card.

A federal grand jury has indicted a former Habersham County sheriff’s deputy in connection with a SWAT team raid that critically injured a toddler.

Bounkham Phonesavah, known as “Baby Bou Bou,” spent weeks in a burn unit after a SWAT team’s flash grenade landed in his play pen and exploded in his face.

Channel 2 Investigative Reporter Jodie Fleischer confirmed the federal indictment against former deputy Nikki Autry on Wednesday morning.

'I can't breathe': White man dies in police custody in Mississippi

Via David "Oh, wait, it was a WHITE man.  Never-mind.  And isn't it curious how there are no crowds of white looters, or white arsonists, or, or, or?  Why, it's almost as if there are cultural differences between American whites and blacks leading to a propensity of one to riot, kill, etc., and the other not to do so?"

The family of a young white man who died in police custody in Mississippi is struggling to find answers about the circumstances of his death. Thirty-year-old Troy Goode, who was described in a press release as devoted family man and a chemical engineer, was taken into custody at a July 18 concert in Southaven, Mississippi. Goode’s wife, Kelli, was driving from the Snowden Grove event center in the northern Mississippi town. With them was their infant son. While they were driving, Edwards descended from the vehicle near a local shopping center for as yet undetermined reasons. According to attorney Tim Edwards of Memphis TN, who is of counsel to Goode’s family, "He was intoxicated and his wife was driving…He was acting erratically and got out of the car for reasons unknown." Kelli Goode stopped the couple’s car at approximately 7:45 PM on the fateful day.

Obama’s ICE Director: No Immigration Enforcement Until Amnesty Is Passed

President Obama’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) director tells lawmakers that no consequences are planned for sanctuary cities until Congress first passes “comprehensive immigration reform.” Sarah Saldaña testified before a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on criminal alien violence.

After hearing emotional testimony from families torn apart by illegal immigrant murderers, Republican members of Congress grilled two administration witnesses: Leon Rodriquez, Director of United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and Sarah Saldaña, Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).  Both Rodriquez and Saldaña have been tasked with carrying out President Obama’s executive amnesty for so-called DREAMers, which includes work permits and medical benefits for low-income illegal aliens funded by citizen taxpayers.

2 Decatur workers say Confederate flag led to them losing jobswhen they refused to remove it

Good men.

Two men in Decatur claim that their refusal to remove the Confederate battle flag from their vehicles has cost them their jobs.

One of the men declined to speak to AL.com news partner WHNT News 19, but Phillip Sims, who worked at Turner Industries, said he and his coworker lost their jobs this week.

Sims told the news station that the plant superintendent told him that the company liked his work, but that he had to remove his flag from the back of his truck. He ordinarily doesn't drive to work with the flag on the truck, but said he was running late on Monday and didn't have time to remove it.

"He said, 'I hate to be the one to tell you that but if you don't I'm gonna have to fire you,'" Sims told WHNT.

Sims said that the company has called him multiple times to rehire him, but only if he removes the flag. He has refused.

Historical Ignorance II

We call the war of 1861 the Civil War. But is that right? A civil war is a struggle between two or more entities trying to take over the central government. Confederate President Jefferson Davis no more sought to take over Washington, D.C., than George Washington sought to take over London in 1776.

Both wars, those of 1776 and 1861, were wars of independence. Such a recognition does not require one to sanction the horrors of slavery. We might ask, How much of the war was about slavery?

Was President Abraham Lincoln really for outlawing slavery?

The Fact-Free Left

 http://rivista-cdn.ibmadison.com/Which_of_these_signs.jpg?ver=1355956068

The outrage over another multiple murder of American military personnel on American soil by another Islamic extremist has been exacerbated by the fact that these military people had been ordered to be unarmed -- and therefore sitting ducks.

Millions of American civilians have also been forbidden to have guns, and are also sitting ducks -- for criminals, terrorists or psychos.

You might think that, before having laws or policies forcing fellow human beings to be defenseless targets, those who support such laws and policies would have some factual basis for believing that these gun restrictions save more lives, on net balance, than allowing more legal access to firearms.

But you would be wrong.

NC: Confederate memorial in Cornelius vandalized

Via Billy

Cornelius police are investigating vandalism to a Confederate memorial near Mount Zion United Methodist Church

Cornelius police are investigating vandalism to a Confederate memorial near Mount Zion United Methodist Church – the third such incident in the Charlotte area recently.

An officer patrolling near the church off N.C. 115 and Zion Avenue discovered the graffiti at 7 a.m. Monday, Cornelius police spokeswoman Betsy Shores said.

The monument was defaced with wording in black ink, including the phrases, “Dear White People:

This Monument is Offensive” and “Stop Honoring White Supremacy,” the Lake Norman Citizen newspaper reported.

The police and public works departments covered the graffiti with a tarp “due to the offensive content” until whoever maintains and owns the monument can be contacted, Shores said Tuesday in an email.

It’s difficult to say what’s more striking about President Obama’s Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) regulation: its breathtaking radicalism, the refusal of the press to cover it, or its potential political ramifications. The danger AFFH poses to Democrats explains why the press barely mentions it. This lack of curiosity, in turn, explains why the revolutionary nature of the rule has not been properly understood. Ultimately, the regulation amounts to back-door annexation, a way of turning America’s suburbs into tributaries of nearby cities. This has been Obama’s purpose from the start. In Spreading the Wealth: How Obama Is Robbing the Suburbs to Pay for the Cities, I explain how a young Barack Obama turned against the suburbs and threw in his lot with a group of Alinsky-style community organizers who blamed suburban tax-flight for urban decay.
