III Arms request

Machinists: III Arms is looking for some insight, here.

Because of the support of the Founders and Community, the company appears to be able to start at a more advanced position that originally envisioned.  It's a good thing.

It's a post for all III Arms supporters.

Stonewall Jackson and the Black Flag

Via Arctic Patriot

Regardless of one's views on the War Between the States, an interesting historical fact is that the great Confederate General, Stonewall Jackson, believed that the black flag policy in the Old Testament still applies, and that it should be applied in particular to the Union army as a means to counter its brutality. This comes out in a conversation with his brother-in-law, Captain Barringer.

While Jackson does not specify any particular passages from Scripture, perhaps he had at least in mind Deuteronomy 20:10-15. While some Old Testament war passages were commands unique to the promised land (as they dealt specifically with waging war with non-Israelites who lived in the promised land), this particular passage gives the Israelites conditions for implementing the black flag when involved in a just war with nations outside the promised land. As such, it is worth considering whether the principles of this passage do in fact apply today.

General Stonewall Jackson's comments to Captain Barringer:

I recall, Captain Barringer, the talk you and I once had at my table in Lexington in the heated party struggle of 1860. Though differing in politics, we happened to agree as to the character of this war, if it once began. We both thought it would be internecine in its results. Neither of us had any special concern for slavery, but both agreed that if the sword was once drawn, the South would have no alternative but to defend her homes and firesides, slavery and all.

I myself see in this war, if the North triumph, a dissolution of the bonds of all society. It is not alone the destruction of our property (which both the nation and the States are bound to protect), but it is the prelude to anarchy, infidelity, and the ultimate loss of free responsible government on this continent. With these convictions, I always thought we ought to meet the Federal invaders on the outer verge of just right and defence, and raise at once the black flag, viz., "No quarter to the violators of our homes and firesides!" It would in the end have proved true humanity and mercy. The Bible is full of such wars, and it is the only policy that would bring the North to its senses.

But I see now clearly enough the people of the South were not prepared for such a policy. I have myself cordially accepted the policy of our leaders. They are great and good men. Possibly, too, as things then stood, no other policy was left open to us than the one pursued by President Davis and General Lee. But all this is now suddenly changed by the cruel and utterly barbarous orders of General Pope, who is not only subsisting his army on the people of Culpepper, and levying contributions upon them, but has laid whole communities under the pains and penalties of death or banishment; and in certain cases directed that houses shall be razed to the ground, and citizens shot without waiting civil process. ...

General Lee is now considering certain special features of my war policy as applicable to the present emergency, and as the only way to check Pope's dastardly system of warfare and plunder. Unfortunately, the Confederate authorities are fully committed to a different policy — in fact, to a very stilted style of waging war. In every aspect the situation is embarrassing. McClellan is nominally in command, and his mode of warfare is in strict conformity to the usages of civilized nations.

But here is Pope, right under the eye of Mr. Lincoln, violating all the so-called principles of modern warfare, and manifestly expecting to supersede McClellan and desolate the South. With McClellan on one side of Richmond, and Pope on the other, each with a vast army, and with their apparently opposing policies, it is impossible to choose your own special plan of campaign or to change your general military methods. But General Lee is equal to whatever emergency may arise, and I trust implicitly to his great ability and superior wisdom. All I can say is that he has (as I told you) heard certain suggestions of mine, and has promised me to consider their force and application, if circumstances permit.

10. Etc., etc., etc.

Just a whole series of absurdities on stilts from the think-tank wonder-minds of the Stupid Party. Republicans are offering any and every kind of explanation that will avoid blaming themselves for this election loss.

FOXNEWS and the RNC need a true "no spin zone" as well as a "no brain fart zone." Pat Buchanan has a lot that could benefit them in this regard which is why neither party likes him.

Democrat fascist Marxists are too ideological, corrupt and immoral to run the country, and Republican fascists are too stupid, immoral and too corrupt to run the country. It would appear that the two elements these parties have in common is that they are both fascist and they are both corrupt. By the way, corruption and fascism are common traits of falling empires.

How long will we permit ourselves to be insulted by immoral hollow-heads who are impressed with their own self-importance?

 What a wonderful man.

by Ron Paul

America is over $16 trillion in debt. The “official” unemployment rate still hovers around 8%.

Our federal government claims the right to spy on American citizens, indefinitely detain them, and even assassinate them without trial.

Domestic drones fly over the country for civilian surveillance.

Twelve million fewer Americans voted in 2012 than in 2008, yet political pundits scratch their heads.

It’s not hard to see why, though.

To go along with endorsing a never-ending policy of bailouts, “stimulus packages,” and foreign military adventurism, the establishment of neither major party questions the assaults on Americans’ liberties I’ve named above.

As my campaign showed, the American people are fed up. Many realized heading into Tuesday that regardless of who won the presidential election, the status quo would be the real victor.

GOP leadership is now questioning why they didn’t perform better.

They’re looking at demographic changes in the United States and implying minorities can only be brought into the party by loudly advocating for abandoning what little remains of their limited government platform and endorsing more statist policies.

My presidential campaign proved that standing for freedom brings people together.

Liberty is popular – regardless of race, religion, or creed.

As long as the GOP establishment continues to not only reject the liberty message, but actively drive away the young, diverse coalition that supports those principles, it will see results similar to Tuesday’s outcome.

A renewed respect for liberty is the only way forward for the Republican Party and for our country.

I urge all my Republican colleagues to join the liberty movement in fighting for a brighter future.

Where The Allen West Vote Count Really Stands

Via Terry

Not as rosy as last reported.

by Javier Manjarres

There’s a lot of misinformation circulating out there about the effort to tally up the votes in Congressman Allen West’s race, but here’s the bottom line- the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections has finished its canvassing, having counted all of the absentee and provisional ballots this past Friday. The conclusion- West is down by about 2400 votes cumulatively across the congressional district. The Martin County Supervisor of Elections has also accounted for all of their ballots, and there appears that there is no issue there.

The last possibility for West’s chances lies with the St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections, who is dragging their feet in releasing the Voter sign-in rolls.  West’s campaign is requesting these rolls in order to compare them with the actual votes cast.  So far, the SOE is saying that they are not all tallied and is currently working on accounting for all of the sign-in rolls.

Monday is a Federal holiday, and the West campaign is indicating that if the St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections does not furnish the sign in rolls on Tuesday, West will file suit to get the rolls released.

That’s it. Anything else you hear out there about this race is bogus or simply speculation.  Reports that there is over-voting in St. Lucie county is speculative.  The candidates and amendments took up two voter cards, so some voters just voted on one card and not the other, some voted on both and turned them in, which accounts for the fact that there were more voter cards turned in than actual registered voters. West’s campaign does believe that there could be at least 700 extra cards submitted, that could translate into 350 extra votes.

Once the St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections releases its voter sign in rolls, West will be able to more clearly determine how much the gap between he Patrick Murphy is.  St. Lucie County Supervisor of Elections is claiming that they are still trying to “put the voter sign-in rolls together,” but why is it taking so long in this day and age to disclose voter-sign in results- why can’t they be disclosed as fast as they release the vote count?

What Doesn’t Kill You

It’s time for me to come out of the “closet,” and admit something which I’ve been hinting around for months, uselessly so because I’m sure most of you were able to put the drop dead obvious two and two together.

I was a Todd Akin staffer, and almost certainly would have gone onto his permanent Senate staff, either here locally or in D.C., if he would have won.

That said, I know stuff, and over time, I’m going to start blabbing about stuff, knowing full well that there are people who would rather that I not.  One such person has the initials K.R.  Inconveniently for them, it is extremely unlikely they’ll be able to figure out who I am.  Keep your dial locked to this blog’s frequency.

As you know from reading my posts in this space over the years, and my comments on AR, I am ultra picky, almost to the level of James Edwards style parsimony, when it comes to politicians.  I don’t spare even the ones I like from my wrath when they say or do something stupid (see:  Bachmann, M.).  Most of you who read this space regularly would think that Todd would be just another lamestream/religious right Republican that I would support half the time and make fun of the other half.  But if someone as picky as me was for him for the beginning, going way back to the brutal free-for-all Republican Congressional primary in 2000 for CD-2, that was because I saw something in him that I didn’t and don’t see in most of his analogues and contemporaries — that should tell you something.  I so believed and believed in the person of William Todd Akin, and still do, that I will spend the rest of my competent lifetime if necessary engaging in an unsolicited unofficial public relations campaign to save the good reputation of a really good man.

People can vote for or not vote for anyone they want, and they can have or not have whatever opinions they want.  But nobody in any good moral sense deserves the river of shit that was sent Todd’s way, especially when the truth is handier.  The left wing was bad enough, but far worse was the treachery and perfidy and backstabbing from so-called “friends,” such as the aforementioned K.R., Sean Hannity (who is now for “but it’s not amnesty” amnesty for illegal aliens), and that emaciated barbie doll in Florida (initials A.C.).  Among many others.  But it’s like I was always told, you will find out who your friends really are and are not in a crisis.  Over time, I’m going to name names, so you can find out who your friends should and shouldn’t be.

Supervisor Walker has posted this notice on her official website:

It appears that Allen West is justified in asking for a lock-down on the ballot boxes and machines in St. Lucie County. According to the November 7th Supervisor of  Elections report Allen B. West garnered 52,625 votes in St.Lucie county and Patrick Murphy 65,896 votes.

The Barbarous Blot on New England’s Escutcheon

The near-extermination and enslavement of the Pequot tribe of North American Indians is a dark part of the history of New England. Families were split as women and children of the conquered Pequot were kept for domestic slavery. The men were sent to the West Indies as slaves as the danger from revengeful warriors outweighed their value as labor; this became official policy in the New England Confederation in 1646. Slavery did not end in New England until the early 1800s; New England-built slave ships continued the transatlantic slave trade until the eve of the War Between the States.

Bernhard Thuersam, Chairman
North Carolina War Between the States Sesquicentennial Commission
"The Official Website of the North Carolina WBTS Sesquicentennial"

The Barbarous Blot on New England’s Escutcheon:

“Negro slavery in New England was a peculiar admixture of servitude and bondage. There was the same horror of the [plantation-era] slave trade, the same spectacle of gangs of manacled blacks deposited on the wharves of Boston and Newport, and the same selling of human chattel at auction. Nor was the tearing the wife from husband, nor the separation of children from both, nor the existence of a slave code, peculiar only to the Middle and Southern Colonies. It was applicable in New England as well; and, in some instances, New England led the way.

The Puritan settlements of New England enjoyed, either contemporaneously or separately, the three forms of servitude common in that day, namely; indentured servants, Indian slaves, and Negro slaves. Indentured servants date from the founding of Massachusetts….[and a] new source of [servants] was soon found, however, for Indian warfare began about 1636, and the captives were promptly sold into slavery. The women and children were usually employed in the colonies; the warriors were carried to the West Indies and there sold as slaves.

The barbarous treatment of the Pequot by the New Englanders in their ruthless war of extermination against them, must ever remain a blot upon New England’s escutcheon. However, the pious Puritans easily dismissed any qualms of conscience which might have arisen, by the simple fact that “a gracious Providence had been pleased to deliver the heathen Indians into their hands.”

Thus the redskin, not the black man, was the first slave in New England. As such they were eagerly sought by the Puritans for their labor. Even the much-vaunted saintliness of Roger Williams, was not sufficient to deter him from writing John Winthrop, Governor of Massachusetts, asking that a small Indian boy be sent to him as a servant. He had just previously written Winthrop (1636), protesting against the cruel treatment of the Indians by the whites, and praying that “they be used kindly and have houses and fields given them.”

Indian slavery was, however, soon to be supplemented by Negro servitude, for the redskin was considered lazy, intractable, vindictive, and inclined to run away. [Most] authorities agree that the mention of Negro slaves by John Winthrop in his diary, in the year 1638 is the earliest authentic testimony of black slaves in New England. There were Negro slaves in New Haven [Connecticut] as early as 1644, six years after the founding of the colony. It is known that John Pantry of Hartford owned a slave in 1653. In New Hampshire [black slaves mentioned in 1646].

The Eighteenth Century…saw the rise of the New England colonies as the greatest slave carriers of America. Quick to see the unprofitableness of the Negro slave as a laborer in such an environment, when the price of the slave was greater than the labor returned, the ingenious Yankee soon found a market in the West Indies for slaves, exchanged for rum, sugar and molasses on the Guinea Coast. Massachusetts early assumed a commanding position in this trade. Peter Faneuil, whose “whole lineage is held in peculiar honor” in Boston, was typical of the many possessors of comfortable fortunes amassed from profits of this traffic.”

American Thinker on the election

Via Carl

On election night, as the camera panned the audience waiting to hear Barack Obama give his victory speech, what struck me was that the audience was primarily young people and minorities.  My thought was, "These are the very people who will suffer the most under a second Obama administration.  Don't they know they are voting against their own best interest?"

And then I thought about it and came to the conclusion: "No.  They don't."  They don't because they are, by and large, uneducated.  Oh, some of them may have college degrees or even graduate degrees, but they are still substantially uneducated.  I would bet that very few of them know the difference between Keynesian economics and Austrian School economics.  I am sure that most of them have never heard of the Laffer Curve.

I would guess that most of them aren't familiar with the first principles behind the origin of our country.  I doubt that many of them know what evil lies in Socialism or Communism, or unbridled leftism.  Or are even aware that Barack Obama is a man of the left, and what that means.  They, for the most part, have no idea what the concept of individual liberty is, nor how a big, powerful central government reduces that liberty.  I also am pretty sure that they feel that Barack Obama is someone who cares about the poor, women, minorities, and the "middle class," and that Republicans don't.  I would stake my substance on the fact that they don't know what is meant by a limited government, or what the Tenth Amendment says.  I am certain that most of them don't know anything about Benghazi.  Substantially uneducated!

Vatican: Why don't gay marriage proponents push for legal recognition for polygamous couples?

The Vatican is digging in after gay marriage initiatives scored big wins this week in the U.S. and Europe, vowing to never stop insisting that marriage can only be between a man and a woman.
In a front-page article in Saturday's Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano, the Holy See sought to frame itself as the lone voice of courage in opposing initiatives to give same-sex couples legal recognition. In a separate Vatican Radio editorial, the Vatican spokesman asked sarcastically why gay marriage proponents don't now push for legal recognition for polygamous couples as well.

Uneducated People Share Simplistic Graphic About Education, Barack Obama and Mitt Romney

Via Don

You may have seen this graphic floating around the internet. I have no clue where it comes from, but wouldn't recommend visiting whatever "" is, which has been watermarked on this version:

Hah! Those dumb conservatives, they all vote for Mitt Romney. And they're dumb. Well, now that we've all confirmed our elitist preconceived biases about conservatives, it's off to the wine bar to celebrate eh?

Not so fast. (Obviously. Why would you be readin this otherwise?) Pretty much every exit poll shows very little correlation between education and electoral outcomes. Here are the graphics that accompany CNN's exit polling on education.

Source: CNN
There is only one category here that correlates with level of education: postgraduates. President Obama won those who didn't attend high school, those who didn't attend college, and postgraduates. Here's a news flash: Obama won the election, so he won slightly larger perecentages of everyone. In fact, as education level increases, tendency to vote for President Obama decreases until you get to the postgraduate level. This is largely unsurprising when you consider that one of President Obama's major supporter groups - teachers' unions - consists almost entirely of members who have some sort of postgraduate education.

This sort of infographic is the kind of lazy attempt at snarky humor that actively misinforms people. And it's embarrassing to draw conclusions here - there is nearly a zero level of correlation between formal education and electoral choice.

Obama administration hid information vital to the American people during the last days of the 2012 election cycle.

The fact that the most respected soldier of his generation, Petraeus, would be leaving the administration during an Obama second term, had to be known by the White House prior to the election. And they said nothing in order to run out the clock.

The fact that Attorney General Eric Holder was considering stepping down from the administration had to be known by the White House prior to the election. Meanwhile, during the election cycle, the Obama administration claimed executive privilege in order to shield Holder from questions about Fast and Furious.

The fact that an American drone was fired upon in international airspace by Iranian airplanes was hidden from the American public for a week in order to prevent the American public from recognizing the failure of the Obama Iranian foreign policy.

The facts in Benghazi were lied about by virtually every member of the Obama administration for weeks upon weeks.

The fact that the administration had been slow-walking reams of vital regulation to beyond the election in order to avoid scaring off voters was hidden from the public.

Now that the Obama administration has succeeded in winning a second term, they are cleaning house. The two figures most linked to the disaster in Benghazi, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Petraeus, are gone. The figure most linked with Fast and Furious, Eric Holder, will be gone. The figure most linked to the administration’s economic failures, Secretary of the Treasury Tim Geithner, will be gone.

Only Obama remains. He ran out the clock on his scandals, and now throws anyone associated with them overboard.

Post-Election, Media Free to Report on Coming Recession

Two days after the election, CNBC published a dour report on the economy. In what should be a shock to no one, CNBC is predicting that the U.S. economy is likely headed for another recession.

CNBC helpfully informs us, now that the election is over, that the light in our economic tunnel could be a "freight train." It sure would have been nice to know that before the election, wouldn't it?

Slowing corporate profits, the remnants of Superstorm Sandy and the ramifications of the "fiscal cliff" in Washington are expected to result in at least two quarters of slow or no growth that could make investing even trickier than it was during the ups and downs of 2012.

That isn't even the worst news. The bigger problem, which is only now being introduced into the media's narrative, is that the economy never achieved "escape velocity" in order to get past the low growth rate we have been experiencing for the past four years.

The economy, CNBC says, never got to the point where we've had enough growth to withstand the sort of shocks that a Hurricane Sandy or a continued or renewed bad business climate would wreck upon it.

This means that the impending "fiscal cliff" won't be easily weathered in an economy as delicate as the one in which we are mired.

How might Washington fix this? CNBC says to get ready for higher taxes. This expected "solution" is already spooking investors and businessmen. All current expansion will likely cease as the business sector sits idle waiting to see what Washington will do to "fix" all this.

In short, the business and investing sector is mighty afraid of an Obama second term. This means any tiny bit of growth we've been seeing lately might quickly stop.

Oh, where have you been, my blue-eyed son?
Oh, where have you been, my darling young one?
I’ve stumbled on the side of twelve misty mountains
I’ve walked and I’ve crawled on six crooked highways
I’ve stepped in the middle of seven sad forests
I’ve been out in front of a dozen dead oceans
I’ve been ten thousand miles in the mouth of a graveyard
And it’s a hard, and it’s a hard, it’s a hard, and it’s a hard
And it’s a hard rain’s a-gonna fall

Oh, what did you see, my blue-eyed son?
Oh, what did you see, my darling young one?
I saw a newborn baby with wild wolves all around it
I saw a highway of diamonds with nobody on it
I saw a black branch with blood that kept drippin’
I saw a room full of men with their hammers a-bleedin’
I saw a white ladder all covered with water
I saw ten thousand talkers whose tongues were all broken
I saw guns and sharp swords in the hands of young children
And it’s a hard, and it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard
And it’s a hard rain’s a-gonna fall

And what did you hear, my blue-eyed son?
And what did you hear, my darling young one?
I heard the sound of a thunder, it roared out a warnin’
Heard the roar of a wave that could drown the whole world
Heard one hundred drummers whose hands were a-blazin’
Heard ten thousand whisperin’ and nobody listenin’
Heard one person starve, I heard many people laughin’
Heard the song of a poet who died in the gutter
Heard the sound of a clown who cried in the alley
And it’s a hard, and it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard
And it’s a hard rain’s a-gonna fall

Oh, who did you meet, my blue-eyed son?
Who did you meet, my darling young one?
I met a young child beside a dead pony
I met a white man who walked a black dog
I met a young woman whose body was burning
I met a young girl, she gave me a rainbow
I met one man who was wounded in love
I met another man who was wounded with hatred
And it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard
It’s a hard rain’s a-gonna fall

Oh, what’ll you do now, my blue-eyed son?
Oh, what’ll you do now, my darling young one?
I’m a-goin’ back out ’fore the rain starts a-fallin’
I’ll walk to the depths of the deepest black forest
Where the people are many and their hands are all empty
Where the pellets of poison are flooding their waters
Where the home in the valley meets the damp dirty prison
Where the executioner’s face is always well hidden
Where hunger is ugly, where souls are forgotten
Where black is the color, where none is the number
And I’ll tell it and think it and speak it and breathe it
And reflect it from the mountain so all souls can see it
Then I’ll stand on the ocean until I start sinkin’
But I’ll know my song well before I start singin’
And it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard, it’s a hard
It’s a hard rain’s a-gonna fall

On Illegitimate holders of Constitutional offices

Just a few thoughts tonight, nothing heavy.

A few folks have left comments around that they intend to sign up for every Government handout they can, in an effort to tax the system and help rush the Implosion.

I would ask Patriots to reconsider that course.  Do not surrender your deepest principles in such a manner.  Do not let fellow Patriots who may one day be sifting through the records of FSA recipients in order to hold trials find your name on the FSA list.  You'll have a very hard time explaining it away.  Some will have a zero-f'n-tolerance rule, and some will only cut slack to Vets.  Taking FSA money is directly stealing from me and everyone else who works - don't be that guy.

And if the goal is to tax the resources of the system, nothing beats a good crime spree.  How many bureaucratic man-hours must be spent chasing down the average "Criminal"?  From LEO to operators to court clerks to PR spokesmen, to insurance adjusters and claims, et cetera.  And the books are filled with "Crimes" that are merely malum prohibitum, with no moral injury done to the "Criminal".  Indeed, one could make the argument that a Patriot exercising his personal Liberty in manners that run afoul of "Laws" that offend Natural Law or Rightful Liberty is behaving patriotically.

And the Patriot who uses such endeavors as training exercises, without getting caught, will be ahead of the curve when the pretense of RoL is finally dismissed.

Let's not forget how a properly motivated Patriot could infuse the public's mind with a Robin Hood storyline.

Of course, this is all just a rhetorical exercise.  Crime is wrong...or did I just argue that it is not necessarily wrong...

I wonder how expensive all those cameras are...and I'd bet even something as simple as spray painted tags mocking TPTB in prominent places would satisfy several objectives.

A note on the legitimacy of this election: By every modern metric one must conclude that the election was done "properly" and is legitimate.

But as I often ask Patriots to do, I will ask again: Consider the fundamental premise upon which that conclusion is reached.

Is the election legitimate from a Constitutional perspective?

Only if one accepts "General Welfare" and "Interstate Commerce" definitions currently used by the Establishment and the Left.

However, anyone who defines the Constitution through the lens of the Founders Intent must conclude that since so many Articles of the Constitution and BoR Amendments are being violated by those in office, and since any "Law" passed that is in violation of the Constitution has no force and is invalid, then those elected are criminals, behaving treasonously in regards to the Constitution, and therefore taking office and executing their offices criminally.

No Traitor can be said to "legitimately" or "Constitutionally" hold office.

They are usurpers, they are Domestic Enemies.

They are not legitimate holders of Constitutional offices.
