New Confederate memorial unveiled in Alabama

Via Billy

More than 200 people attended an unveiling ceremony for a new Confederate monument Sunday afternoon in Alabama's Crenshaw County.

The modest stone marker commemorates the "unknown Confederate soldiers" who died in the Civil War but have been forgotten by history, particularly those from Crenshaw County and the surrounding area.

The memorial now stands in a confederate memorial park first opened in May 2015 on private land in an unincorporated area next to Dry Creek RV Park about three miles north of Brantley. It sits among existing monuments, replica cannons and tall flagpoles flying Confederate and other flags.

Black-clad anarchists storm Berkeley rally, assaulting 5

Black-clad anarchists on Sunday stormed into what had been a largely peaceful Berkeley protest against hate and attacked at least five people, including the leader of a politically conservative group who canceled an event a day earlier in San Francisco amid fears of violence.

The group of more than 100 hooded protesters, with shields emblazoned with the words "no hate" and waving a flag identifying themselves as anarchists, busted through police lines, avoiding security checks by officers to take away possible weapons. Then the anarchists blended with a crowd of 2,000 largely peaceful protesters who turned up to demonstrate in a "Rally Against Hate" opposed to a much smaller gathering of right-wing protesters.

Berkeley police chief Andrew Greenwood defended how police handled the protest, saying they made a strategic decision to let the anarchists enter to avoid more violence.

Greenwood said "the potential use of force became very problematic" given the thousands of peaceful protesters in the park. Once anarchists arrived, it was clear there would not be dueling protests between left and right so he ordered his officers out of the park and allowed the anarchists to march in.

There was "no need for a confrontation over a grass patch," Greenwood said.

Much of the country has demanded the elimination of references to, and images of, people of the past — from Christopher Columbus to Robert E. Lee — who do not meet our evolving standards of probity.

In some cases, such damnation may be understandable if done calmly and peacefully — and democratically, by a majority vote of elected representatives.

Few probably wish to see a statue in a public park honoring Confederate general Nathan Bedford Forrest, one (not) of the founding members of the Ku Klux Klan, or Supreme Court Justice Roger B. Taney, who wrote the majority opinion in the racist Dred Scott decision that set the stage for the Civil War four years later.

But cleansing the past is a dangerous business. The wide liberal search for more enemies of the past may soon take progressives down hypocritical pathways they would prefer not to walk.

In the present climate of auditing the past, it is inevitable that Margaret Sanger’s Planned Parenthood will have to be disassociated from its founder. Sanger was an unapologetic racist and eugenicist who pushed abortion to reduce the non-white population.

Trump's Right about Confederate Statues and the Slippery Slope

Via Billy

There’s been a lot of talk about the Civil War lately, given the left’s furor over Confederate statues and whatnot.  These statues and monuments have long existed without any such uproar, so we can assume it’s the leftist cause du jour only because there’s little meat left on the “Russia collusion” bone, so the media is sticking to its go-to strategy of fomenting racial division.

But what’s most interesting about all of this is that the people offering the most historically ignorant comments about the Civil War generally preface their statements with “people should learn their history,” or something to that effect.

Take Keith Boykin, for example, who stated what is perhaps the most historically ignorant comment about the American Civil War that I’ve ever heard, and given the deluge of historically ignorant commentary on the subject in recent times, that’s saying something.

On Don Lemon’s CNN panel, Boykin was clearly bothered by the fact that Ben Shapiro suggested that the Confederate statues are a “local issue.”  Boykin followed with this splendidly stupid statement:

Law Professors Condemned as Racist After Praising America’s 1950s ‘Bourgeois Culture’

UPenn students, alumni slam professors for 'promoting hate and bigotry'

"The charges of racism, white supremacy, etc. are, sadly, the predictable responses of those who can't refute the claims we made," Alexander said. "And those charges are laughable, given that I was a civil rights marcher and have a multi-racial family. But, of course, when you don't have the facts on your side, you resort to calling names. Pathetic!"

Two law professors have been condemned by University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) students, alumni, and faculty as bigots engaging in "racist and white supremacist discourse," after they wrote a nostalgic op-ed praising America's 1950s "bourgeois culture."

UPenn Professor Amy Wax and University of San Diego's Lawrence Alexander were slammed by a group of 54 UPenn doctoral students and alumni as "promoting hate and bigotry under the guise of ‘intellectual debate'" in their piece titled, "Paying the price for breakdown of the country's bourgeois culture," published earlier this month by the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Warren Condemns Left-Wing Violence: ‘Violence Is Not the Way to Go’

Miracles never cease.

Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren (Mass.) condemned violence by extremist left-wing groups like the Antifa movement during a local news interview Wednesday.

Warren spoke to WBSM, a New Bedford, Mass-based station, after holding a town hall at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. About five minutes into the interview, WBSM host Tim Dunn brought up the presence of violent left-wing protesters in Charlottesville, Va., and asked Warren to explicitly condemn left-wing violence.

"Absent the presence of white nationalists, left-wing protesters threw bottles of urine and rocks at police officers. The same occurred last night at the president's rally. Are you prepared to condemn violence on that part of the left-wing agitators, such as Antifa, as you have the right-wing nationalist group?" Dunn asked.

"Violence is not the way to go. Violence is not the way to advance our interests," Warren responded.

A Discourse on the Genius of the Federative System of the United States

This speech was given to the Young Men’s Society of Lynchburg, August 26, 1838.

I Appear before you, gentlemen, in compliance with an invitation which deserves my grateful acknowledgments. To have been deemed capable of offering one thought proper to guide your minds in the pursuit of truth, is an honor which I beg you to believe I highly appreciate. In proportion to my sense of it, has been my anxiety not to disappoint your favorable anticipations. I have felt that it was my duty to give my best thoughts to the selection of some topic worthy of your attention. In my choice, I have been aided by the obvious reflection, that you would naturally expect from me a discourse on some subject not remotely allied to the studies of the youth committed to my charge.

With these you had reason to suppose me most familiar; and it became me to believe that your invitation was dictated more by a wish to hear someihing connected with them, than by any misjudging partiality for myself.

San Francisco shuts down 'Patriot Prayer' rally by walling off city park

Via John
San Francisco Police officers arrest a protester outside of Alamo Square Park Saturday.

Protesters opposing a right-wing gathering in liberal San Francisco claimed victory Saturday when the event was cancelled after city officials walled off a city park -- a move that the event's organizer said was more about silencing his group's message than preventing a violent clash.

Civic leaders in San Francisco -- a cradle of the free speech movement that prides itself on its tolerance -- repeatedly voiced concerns that the event organized by Patriot Prayer would lead to a clash with counter-demonstrators.

Joey Gibson, who is Japanese American and leads Patriot Prayer, said his group disavows racism and hatred and wanted to promote dialogue with people who may not share its views. He cancelled a planned rally Saturday at a field under the shadow of the Golden Gate Bridge after he said his members received anonymous threats on social media and feared civic leaders and law enforcement would fail to protect them.

As an accused white racist, I accept that title with honor. I am a White racist because I opposed Obama’s socialist, Marxist, and America destroying policies. I am a White racist because I oppose the destruction and demonization of Western Civilization. And by such definitions, I am a White racist. And damn proud to be one.

I am tired of hearing, that because I am White, I must be a racist and now a NAZI. For the last 50-years, Democrats have worked diligently to create identity politics. That is identity for every group, except White Americans.

Many I talk to, feel as I do. They are tired of being called racist and NAZI, because they oppose the Marxist left trying to destroy America. I see many beginning to identify themselves as White. Something that until Democrats pushed the labels racist and NAZI on them, something they never had considered before. They were Americans, and for the vast majority, did not see color. But as Democrats pushed every group to have pride. While at the same time labeling ALL Whites as racists and NAZIs.

Many that never considered color, are now beginning to experience a White awakening. Especially as they watch Europe being flooded with nonwhite “refugees.” They see Europe being transformed and Western Civilization being destroyed, in real time. There is a growing White awakening in Europe, just as here. The question is will this growing movement come in time?

Patriots Remove Tarp Covering Robert E Lee Monument in Charlottesville

Looks like someone decided to take matters into their own hands at Lee Park in Charlottesville.  The tarps covering the Lee monument were cut down at dawn this morning.

General Lee is free of his illegal binding and tarps, and he and Traveler are getting some fresh air and sunshine this morning!

The photo was taken at 9:00 am this morning!

These ANTIFA protesters just can't accept the fact they acted just like the white supremacists, wearing face masks & carrying clubs creating violence. ANTIFA is just like the KKK in using violence to get their message out. Wes Bellamy knows all about racism which the Charlottesville citizens ignore as it is well known he is a racist based on his past social tweets. Just why do they give him a pass, is it because he is Black? This council caused this violence resulting in three persons killed when they voted to remove the Lee statue. Had this action never been taken then the violence would not had taken place or would have the white supremacists come to Charlottesville. This Council led by Wes Bellamy's efforts to remove the statues does have "Blood On Their Hands." After viewing the video of the Council Meeting, it is apparent that ANTIFA is strong in the community as these uneducated citizens acted like a bunch of idiots. No morals present or would they listen to any reason, this council has created this zoo and these liberal animals with it.

*********************************

This report will not be about the details of what is currently going on in Virginia. Most of what can be said about this has been said. I have talked to the press from Canada to Great Britain. I have been interviewed by every left wing newspaper, TV network, and radio station from here to the Mississippi. Travis Toombs, Fred Chiesa and others have done a great job of getting this word out to you, the members of the Virginia Division and even the outside world.

There is only one thing further I wish to say about Charlottesville. On the evening of August 21st, a council meeting was held in that city. Even with looking at the news and reading about it, it was difficult to determined the pro or con of those in attendance. It turned into a free-for-all with the Mayor and Council retreating to a back room. Judging by quotes and signs, it was apparent that all parties agreed on one thing.......that all of the violence brought to Charlottesville was the fault of the Mayor and the City Council. It was evident that this was a self inflected wound by signs telling the council that they had blood on their hands.

There have been questions as to whether or not the Virginia Division is holding a rally. The answer is yes we are. Hopefully it will be the largest rally we have ever held in Virginia. The date will be November 7, 2017. It will last all day and into the evening. It will be held at locations all over the State. These locations are called Polling places......no one will be more than a mile or two from one of these rally points. You have no excuse not to be there.

It doesn't matter what you have or haven't done for the cause before. This is your chance to stand up and be counted. Don't just say "somebody should do something", BE that somebody. Speaking for the Virginia Division SCV, I am not permitted to tell you how to vote. You must figure that out on your own. We can tell you that the candidates from one party have already stated that the Monuments WILL COME DOWN. They can't wait to get into office to make this happen. The other party's candidates have stated that they WILL NOT SEEK to take down the monuments or rewrite Virginia history.

This is a major turning point for our State and the Country. If you have never voted before, vote this time. If you are not registered, get registered! If for any reason like minded neighbors can not get to the polls, drive them there yourself. Get every sane, rational, member of your family to vote. This is your chance to stop asking about what is being done about the monuments and do something yourself. If we lose this election, steps will be taken the very next day to remove all our monuments. (ie: repeal the monument protection act)

These monuments, along with the graves of our sacred dead, are the last vestiges we still have of our Heritage. It is not enough to just vote. We must tell others to register and vote. We need 10 even 20 thousand votes. We can do it! We must over come the carpet bagger votes from Northern Virginia. Sad to say, Northern Virginia has become nothing but a puddle of ooze overflowing from the Swamp that is Washington, D.C.

It is up to you now. You must come to this November 7th rally. You must bring everyone you can. With victory on November 8th, we can all sing "Carry me back to Old Virginia."

We have a chance to save the Virginia that our ancestors fought and died for. We must not fail them.

Nancy Pelosi's father helped dedicate Confederate monument

That's rich.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has ramped up calls to remove "reprehensible" Confederate statues from the halls of Congress -- but left unsaid in her public denunciations is that her father helped dedicate such a statue decades ago while mayor of Baltimore.

It was May 2, 1948, when, according to a Baltimore Sun article from that day, “3,000” looked on as then-Governor William Preston Lane Jr. and Pelosi’s father, the late Thomas D’Alesandro Jr., spoke at the dedication of a monument to honor Confederate generals Robert E. Lee and Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson.

The article said Lane delivered a speech, and Mayor D’Alesandro “accepted” the memorial.
